A Rustic, Organic Mountain Paradise.

My partner and I (who is from England, I am from France), live in the french Pyrennes, with our baby boy, Zephyr.

The place is beautifull, very quiet and far from the city. Theres lots of nice walks to do in the area, and breathtaking scenery.

This year's projects include, insulating the roof of the main house, making a bathroom in the cellar, a new dry toilet outside, and a new wood shelter. These are priority jobs, then there are lots of smaller jobs that are always going on. The garden always needs loving attention, there is wood to be cut, chopped and collected, and since we live directly on the mountainside there is always terrassing to make some flat lands, and general landscaping projects. We try to work with organic materials in a sustainable way.

Even for people who want to come and help with cooking, including transformation of foods (conserves, lactofermentation etc. and other domestic work are most welcome. there is a place here for anyone who really wants to come :)

Food is basic, wholesome, tasty vegetarien, at the right times of year, this will include home grown food from the garden, and also wild picking. Carnivors are most welcome too, you can bring other foods that you might want, but bear in mind there is no real refridgeration.

We are 35km from the lively market town of St.Girons (Ariege 09), but people coming must be prepared for a remote and rustic lifestyle. Accomodation is generally in two barns that are converted to use as basic accomodation, there is always the posibility of pitching a tent, on relatively flat land, and a parking area for people with converted vans.

If you feel like spending a bit of time working with us, sharing our way of living, and exchanging information about building, gardening, medicinal and wild plants, then come and visit. We are using eco materials, and doing organic gardening. We are very happy to meet and welcome people :))

We don't have much internet usage, so the best thing to do is to exchange phone numbers, and we can always call you for a chat if you want more info. Also, any delay in response is usually just this, we will contact anyone who responds and wants to come.

with best wishes,

Richard and Charlotte
