Attractive rustic old Norfolk Barns that I have been developing, on a shoe string, since 1991. In 1997 I built an eco-cabin and extended it in 2004 with a 50square metre straw-bale,on rubber tyres building to house one of my daughters and family. We have a reed-bed purification system, and have started harvesting water. There is a large vegetable garden which I have developed along Permaculture principles with composting on site cf. Thanks to a former volunteer we now have a wonderful polytunnel. I am a member of the Permaculture association which has always been a source of inspiration.Sadly I am without goats at the moment. We have 6 sheep, hens ,cats and 2 sheep dogs. For many years I ran animal assisted activities, but recently have
given the ponies and pigs to a wonderful project working with city school children in a residential setting, giving them an experience of the outdoors. cf Ringsfield Hall Eco-centre near Beccles. I am now working with two Norwich Charities welcoming people in recover from addictions. A group come to help regularly and there is usually a 5-6 residents in recovery here to enjoy the peace of the country side. Any helpers must be sympathetic and patient, and accept that we are a drug and Alcohol free zone.
I am a member of a small christian community whose members have contributed much help over the years during their monthly working days. We had many enthusiastic helpers over the past years who were remarkable, they represented 19 nationalities!: Brazil, Hungry, Germany,USA, canada,Germany Holland,Spain, Italy, France,Romania,Hong-kong, Japan, Korea,La Reunion,Tiawan, Argentina, Chile++ England and Me from little Jersey! so a truly international cooperative team. and what a team! Currently we are putting the finishing touches to the renovation of the main barn. We could do with some help in finishing the plumbing, so if there are any helpxers out there with or with out skills I would be really blessed. We built a straw-bale wall last summer, so opportunities to learn new skills including rendering with lime which is planned for the better weather.
We have just finished building a large workshop for woodwork and and plan to use it to welcome local people who are in recovery to learn new skills

There are five units at the farm. We are a group committed to living in the light of Jesus gospel with particular emphasis on justice and peace,'people care and Earth care',loving God's creation and wanting to tread lightly on our earth.' We respect people regardless of their background and our beliefs are not imposed on anybody. We are members Christian Ecology Link, Rermaculture Association and C.A.T. [ Center for Alternative Technology]
We were recently blessed by having two very experienced Volunteers come for 3 days a week for the past 7 weeks. They have completely transformed the garden, built new compost areas after spreading out all the large compost heaps from the past 2 years, so our gardens are looking so tidy and all ready for spring planting. We are looking for help both for the gardens and renovation work on the Straw-bale house. Thanks
