We are a family of 4, living in the South Hams, an area of outstanding natural beauty, very close to exciting Totnes (the world's first Transition Town), and half way between Dartmoor and the sea.
Dartington Hall, a world famous hub for sustainability, the arts & social justice as well as Schumacher College are just on our door step.

We are both ecologists/environmental educators, who loved to travel the world before we welcomed our two lively boys, now aged 10 & 7, into our lives.

We offer a beautiful place to camp in the garden, and provide a great quality tent! You will have access to the house to use the kitchen, toilets & shower, washing machine; WiFi. Organic veg & fruit are provided, we just ask that you prepare your own meals.

We would like you to give 4 hours per day, 5 days a week; weekends will usually be free for you to explore the vibrant local area and community, the latter brimming with exciting alternative initiatives!

The work will mainly include caring for our large garden & vegetable plots, and a bit of help with the chickens. Jobs such as weeding, planting, adding compost to soil & pruning, cleaning the glass of the greenhouse.

The nearest train station is Totnes, which is also on a National Express coach route.

For more detailed information re. what you could experience whilst staying with us, see below:

Our house is situated just 10 minutes walking distance from the village shop & probably the most exciting petrol station in the whole of the UK (stocking all kinds of organic food, locally grown flowers as well as selling their homemade authentic Indian curries & sweets).

Close to the above a funky bakery/cafe, baking top quality sourdough bread & other delicacies.

A beautiful 13th century thatched pub serving delicious food just 2 minutes walk down the road.

Riverford Organics, one of England's first organic producers. Super fresh fruit, veg, meat. 10 minutes drive by car. We get our veg & fruit from there, and provide this for you too.

Dartington Hall & gardens, as well as Schumacher College about 20-25 minutes walk away. Check out www.dartington.org

There is also an arthouse cinema at Dartington Hall, which shows international films.

Totnes is bursting with quirky little shops, cafes & great places to eat. World's first transition town, there is always an interesting event, talk, workshop, ... to be investigated. And, if you fancy a massage, or need any other kind of alternative/complementary treatment for your health - there is hardly anything which can't be found! ;-)
Farmers market twice a week, on Fridays & Saturdays
