Our organic fruit farm in the heart of Niagara is looking for cheerful strong interested people to help on the farm. We are close to St Catharines which is easily accessible by bus, see below.

Spring finds us finishing up the pruning and training the vines back onto the trellis wires. We plant strawberries and replace other plants each spring too. Machinery maintenance is done inside of our shop to be ready for the farming season. You can learn how to do an oil change :) grease the ATV or sharpen the chain saw. Interested helpers with good driving experience learn how to drive tractors, the ATV and our little " Cushman" a side by side ATV type mini truck.

In the Summer : we work in the garden ,vineyard and orchard and go to Toronto markets once a week. We can accommodate helpers in our home or a private 2 bedroom farm trailer. In the house we have a big bedroom with a private bathroom and TV lounge room.

In winter we prune the vines and trees unless it is Very cold then we find chores to do inside the house or barn.

Helpers usually work 5-6 hours a day, five days a week. While some jobs require a longer day (especially during harvest) there's always rain days when we catch up with email and TV.

We treat our helpers like family which means that they eat the same food we do (excellent organic meals). Laura usually does the cooking and all pitch in to help clean up. If you have special dietary or health needs please advise when you first make contact. Smokers cannot be accommodated.

"Drake" the border collie Dog and three Ragdoll cats share our non-smoking house.

For time off helpers enjoying visiting the many local wineries, hiking the Bruce Trail, day trips to Niagara Falls , Niagara on the Lake and even Toronto. St Catharines is 5 minutes away by car/30 minute by bike and has a full range of store/pubs/theatre etc. We have bikes available to use around the farm and for day trips. Shared WIFI is available for email and web surfing.

Our home is comfortably equipped with good beds, bedding towels etc. For your personal comfort you should bring personal hygiene items, sunscreen/hat, good fitting gardening gloves, rainproof jacket and rubber boots. Hiking boots and running shoes get very dirty working in the vineyard and orchards. Should you forget or not have a chance to pickup appropriate items they are available for purchase in St Catharines , we go there several times a week.

Please plan to stay a minimum of 2 weeks and try to arrive on the weekend.

Getting here :
the closest station is St Catharines
you can travel by one of three bus/train lines
https://www.gotransit.com
https://ca.megabus.com/
https://www.greyhound.ca
choose based on where you are travelling from but let me know which line you choose as there are two different stations. I will come to meet you at the station.
If you will travel here directly from Toronto International airport there are also a few chooses, the most convenient ($$) is to book a shared shuttle bus through https://niagaraairbus.com it will bring you right to the farm.
The other method involves going to
Toronto https://www.upexpress.com/
and then taking a bus to St Catharines. Sometimes this results in an overnight stay in Toronto based on your arrival time at the airport so it is not always the least expensive method.
