Renovate and decorate a little frugal house in SW Scotland

This is a big challenge to improve a small house on a tiny budget. I'm a frugal living expert (happy to teach anyone about frugal living, money saving etc), with a one-bedroom cottage needing some improvements. Accommodation is basic but adequate and would improve as work progressed. The main things like electricity, heating and hot water are already there and the exterior of the building has already been improved.

The cottage has an adjoining one-room annexe in need of complete refurbishment to allow us to use it as a studio / workshop.

There is space to create a tiny kitchen / herb garden and then there's a larger patch of land to be turned into a sustainable self-sufficiency style garden, where we can grow fruit, vegetables and edible flowers. (Permaculture enthusiasts?)

This is only one part of the overall project, so I need reliable, trustworthy helpers who can take charge of the cottage & garden project, as there's a further 5 hectares of land (read that as wilderness!) nearby to be developed into an arts, heritage & eco-project. This is also where we keep the ponies & hens, so help with them may occasionally be required.

Accommodation can be provided in the cottage on a self-catering basis with all the basics provided. It's in a village setting and within easy walking distance of a regular bus route, shop and miles of open countryside.

You'll need to be fairly fit and healthy as it's mostly physical work. It would also involve some nights or weekends spent out at the main project, helping with digging, barrowing, land clearing, path making and basic building for our eco projects, of which there are many. The entire project will be run as a social enterprise focussing on sustainability, environmental issues, arts, nature and frugality.

If you have relevant experience and can help us out here in southwest Scotland (Dumfries & Galloway) then please get in contact.
