We are about to begin building Australia's first SuperAdobe Earthbag Round House, which is a specific type of natural building.

We will be running 2 workshops over the 1 year period, which will be exciting times full of new people and new skills. We hope to have a total of 7 Helpx volunteers at all times throughout the year period, from December 10th 2016 until December 10th 2017, with helpx staying for as long a period as possible (1 month at least would be great, but we're open to shorter periods also).

We're trying to fill the first period from December 10th 2016 to April 1st 2017 primarily, but please do get in touch for any of the period from April 1st until December 10th 2017 if those dates work for you.

The property is primarily used for Horse agistment, with 18 beautiful horses on the property at the moment. They are fed each day, and ridden twice a week, so volunteers may be able to be involved with the horses as is needed.

We are looking for excited, enthusiastic people to join our volunteer program to help run this milestone build in Australia.

The work will be very physical, so we would love dedicated, hard workers who don't mind a bit of shovelling, wheel-barrowing, lifting, and tamping. All of this is done in a very supportive, loving environment, where we all look after each other and our bodies.

Morning yoga or meditation is highly encouraged, and 3 local organic meals are served everyday (during workshops by our chefs, and cooked by myself and our helpx team during non-workshop periods) So it's also great if you don't mind having a cook in the kitchen every now and then, you don't have to be amazing, just enthusiastic!

The build will be run by the owners, and 1 main builder, so you will be clearly instructed on exactly what to do, so don't worry if you've never built anything before, we are completely open to all people from all walks of life, and everyone has something to offer. That being said, we would LOVE to have builders, carpenters, crafters, painters, artists, weavers, what-evers onboard, to be able to offer their particular skills to the project.

Things you will learn during this volunteer program are: SuperAdobe and Earthbag building (comprehensive techniques), Cob building, mud-brick making, rocket stove building, rocket mass heater theory, permaculture basics, cob oven building, basic carpentry, soil identification, designing with SuperAdobe, fermentation, leather craft, wood-turning, and lots more through skill sharing and community living.

We will be working 5 days a week, with 2 rest days, which we will hope to fill with outings and fun activities for you all to see other parts of Victoria, as the work schedule allows.

We will supply sleeping areas (most probably tents with a good mattress and bedding), delish meals, access to the internet (no downloading if possible), showers (solar), toilets, dam swimming, huge natural building knowledge and teaching, a unique workshop experience, rewarding physical work, healthy community living, lots of great people, and heaps of fun!

We will organise transport to and from the farm, from either the closest train station, or we are happy to help from Melbourne also, just get in touch.

If you're full of beans, very keen to meet amazing new people, see a breathtaking part of Victoria and build something incredibly interesting and rewarding, please get in touch!
