Our wildlife hospital is a truly unique experience, right at the doorstep to the outback, situated 125km inland from Cairns (around 2 hours drive).

We are run by a voluntary committee as an Incorporated Association. This means we rely entirely on voluntary help and donations.

Our wildlife hospital is located in a tropical paradise (8km from Ravenshoe) on the banks of the beautiful Millstream River with waterfalls, swimming holes and surrounded by bushland.

We rescue, rehabilitate and release Australian wildlife. Most of the time we care for around 140 native animals. You will work with and learn from Harry, one of Australia's most recognised authorities in dingoes and raptors.

You must be willing to work 4-6 hours a day and show initiative. This includes feeding and cleaning, as well as other jobs such as general maintenance.

We operate on a small budget so you could find yourself gardening or painting and if you are handy with tools, you could help us build or repair nesting boxes and feeders. You will be fed well (Harry is an ex-chef). Accommodation is in caravans. You will need a clear head so no drugs or excessive alcohol. Smoking (outside) is OK.

If you would like a chance to really help save and rehabilitate wildlife, contact Harry by phone; best times to ring are 9am to 5pm. We prefer a minimum stay of 3 weeks, but ring and discuss. Long-term stays count towards the second year visa.

We do prefer people that speak good English as it can be very frustrating and dangerous when things are misunderstood.
Thank you,
Harry
