I moved to France a year ago to take over a small bar, restaurant and shop in the French countryside. I am the owner of the bar and run the place with the help of a couple of others. I have being trying to create a place for the local and wider community, both French and English. A place to eat, drink, enjoy live music and meet new friends.
We are doing okay, just about making a living and we are getting a good reputation, which is great. At the start we did a minimal job on converting the barn for use as a venue. It's a bit shabby chic but it's proved popular. We've had a communion party; a wedding; lots of discos and live music. There isn't a lot to do in the area, especially in the winter. Unfortunately, the barn isn't winter-proof and if we are going to continue what we've been doing that's what we need to do. I can access some money but not enough to get it done unfortunately.
I am looking for some help to winter proof it, which includes covering and insulating two wooden walls; insulating the loft and building a floor and hatch to the upstairs. I'm looking for tradesmen/women to come and help.

We also have a large garden at the back of the barn,we've done some work but there is lots more that can be done.
I live in a three-bed roomed apartment above the place and have two spare bedrooms. I can also provide meals.

If you are interested in helping us please contact me.
Thank you
Karen
