We are a non-profit educational project that offers prepared environment for free development of the children, as well as training and self-development for adults. The main activities are:
the Nido (Nest) for parents and babies from 4 to 18 months old, the Comunidad (Community) with children from 15 to 30 months old and the Childrenīs House (3-6 years old).
The monthly practice of Non Violent Communication.
The space has its custard apple orchard and childrenīs vegetable garden, compost pile of organic waste, as well as phytodepuration system of the grey water of the house.
The members of the project are Spanish and international.
We are situated in a village called Lobres, nearby Salobreņa, in the Granada Province (Andalusia). A few kilometers from the sea, 40min to Granada, and 1h30 to the Sierra Nevada.
The accommodation of the volunteer will be in a room of the Montessori Space, and the bathroom and kitchen are shared with the Space. It will also be possible to use a caravan at weekends, situated at 15mn drive from the Space, where some families of the project live, in an eco-neighboured called El Minchal. Thatīs in the countryside.
The Children's House is happy to welcome English native speaker volunteers to be assistant of our teacher. The volunteer is expected from beginning of February to end of March.
The profile of the volunteer is:
An English speaker happy to live experiences with 3 to 6 years old children, like for instance games, songs, cooking, singing, gardening, or any abilities like playing music, sewing, eco-building, manual art.
A mature person able to sit back and observe the children as well as set limits if needed or offer activities at the moments decided with the teacher.
Some person interested in Montessori education and Non-Violent Communication.
Someone keen on developing communication skills to be able to work as a team.
Someone willing to be part of our Non-Violent Communication practice group.
Someone who will be glad to help actively with any side work like helping to prepare educational materials or contributing to maintaining the Space clean and tidied up.
The tasks and activities offered to the volunteer will be:
5h30 from 9h to 14h30 monday to friday
Helping to prepare the environment for the children in the morning,
Sitting and learning to observe the children.
Helping with running the class along with the teacher,
Offering activities and games to the children in English.
all in the specific Montessori way, for which the volunteer will receive instructions.
Helping to tidy up at the end of the class and cleaning up the space. Or maintenance on outside space (garden and patio)
Being part of the team meetings.2h weekly on wednesdays from 15h to 17h.
Apart from that, the volunteer will be welcome to take part to the parties, days out, or visit the families at their homes.
