We're a friendly, easygoing hostel that people love to visit and stay at. As bosses, we're fair and straightforward. We welcome people with a positive work ethic who want to make a differnece in our business, while having fun and being part of our small team.
The permanent team members are Shaun, Tequila Boom Boom, Lupo Luppolo and Betty Bup who's only a 18 month's old. The 3 dogs are the friendliest you'll ever meet and are more like small children in the hostel. All the permanent team members, including the pups, are house-trained!
The help required varies and we need people who an do lots of different types of things, but the skills we need most are gardening and cleaning. These shifts are 4 hours long. Primarily, we need people to help us keep the hostel in good shape for our wonderful guests. The help mostly involves gardening (including weeding), painting, repairs, cleaning, and general hostel jobs. The tasks will involve ensuring the guests are happy and that there are no problems in the building.
The hours can vary depending on what's needed each day, but while we're flexible, punctuality is important, as is the ability to work alone and in a group to get tasks completed
So contact us if you get some pleasure from achieving creative (and sometimes boring) stuff in the garden while getting a suntan, or painting, or if you have the attention to detail that makes you good at housekeeping and cleaning. Plumbing or carpentry skills would also be really useful.
The hostel is quieter between seasons but the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.
Also, if you have a good understanding of useful subjects like marketing, graphic design, social media, woodwork, plastering or something else, let us know. We need lots of help, suggestions and input.
WE WILL PROVIDE...
* a days off, after every 6 days working,
* some evening meals when the hostel has group dinners
* a staffroom dorm bed with ensuite bathroom
* commit to 3 week's work (and to 4 weeks between the 2nd week of July and the 3rd week of August). This allows us to keep standards high here
* work for 6 days, for 4 hours
If you are interested, let me know the dates you can come to the island.
* We only consider applications from individual travellers because we have had many problems with people travelling in pairs
