Hostel is a run by a Development Trust. We are a local social enterprise set up to help the local community in a remote part of Scotland.

The Trust works with in a wide area which includes Glenfarclas, Cragganmore, Morinsh and Bridge of Brown as its external boundaries. The overall vision for the development trust is “To develop, inspire and embrace a vibrant future for the Tomintoul & Glenlivet area.”

The Hostel is a friendly and clean place for people stay in Tomintoul. We need volunteers to help us run this hostel on a day to day. This could be meeting our guests or helping us keeping the place clean and tidy. We would also look for help with our garden and campsite along with cutting of grass and helping on the development of our herb garden. In return for your help you are provided with: Bed and breakfast (not cooked), laundry facilities and free wifi. You will get at least one day off a week. You will also have access to our self-catering kitchen. We would like you to come for at least 2 weeks

We would offer the opportunity to meet our other local volunteers as well as help out in our Museum and get involved in the other projects that the Trust are working on. These are running a series of events throughout the year from a bike festival, nature weekend, music concert and dark sky's week. We are also working on a project to record the lives of local people and there stories and we will need assistance on doing this. There are also projects that involve working on the Crown Estate and at the Bike Trails
