We are a family of four with two children aged 7 and 5. We currently have a milking goat and kid, a small vegetable garden, chickens, guinea pigs and rabbits.

Whilst the warm weather continues, we will be working on various natural building projects including cob, straw bale and mud-brick.

We have a team of about 10 people camping at our property and helping with these projects. We need help with cooking in the camp kitchen, looking after the animals and the various natural building projects.

Lorinna is an isolated off-grid township of about 100 people. With views to Cradle Mountain and surrounding valleys, it is home to a rich and diverse community.

The property on which we live has been developed as a small-scale intentional community of five households. It is about 180 acres in size and has shared energy and water infrastructure and a Studio for artistic and social activities.

Other aspects of the wider community of Lorinna are:

- a Community owned and run Hall;
- a food Co-operative, with Saturday afternoon coffees;
- freshwater lake with kayaking and glorious afternoon summer swimming
- a Buddhist Spiritual Centre on a property called Dorje Ling
- a local organic vegetable farmer supplying seasonal vegetables to the community
- multiple existing natural buildings
- rainforest walks with towering man-ferns

You would need to bring your own tent to camp in a cleared paddock surrounded by old-growth rainforest with views of Cradle Mountain. It has regular visits from wallabies, wombats, echidnas, wedge-tailed eagles and platypuses living in our dams. We have a shared kitchen tent set up with wood stove, crockery and cool storage.

We are happy to provide all food in exchange for about 6 hours a day of help with these projects plus some domestic assistance outside these times. No work on the weekends to give you a chance to explore the beautiful surrounds! Children welcome by arrangement.

We can cater for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free in our cooking.
