We are a family of 6 who own a small farm 10km from Motueka on the banks of the Motueka River. We have a small orchard and some flat paddocks with a range of animals. Jobs can be anything from animal care to land or property maintenance, gardening including prunning thinning and harvesting of kiwifruit flowers fruit and vegetables, firewood to one off jobs around the farm The farm is a 45 minute drive from the start of the Able Tasman National park where you can get a sea taxi, kayak or walk some of the most beautiful coastline of New Zealand. The world famous Kaiteriteri beach is a 30 minute drive or you could cycle on our new Great Taste trail. We are 1 1/2 hour drive from Rainbow Ski field and Nelson Lakes. We would like 1/2 people at a time who are hard working and willing for 3/4 days. We have a 40ft converted fully insulated container with a small pot belly stove for accomodation. We provide accomodation and 3 meals a day for 4 hour work per day and help preparing/ cleaning up meals. We are happy for workers to do more hours on one day in order to have days off on others for sight seeing etc. Being comfortable around dogs is important as we have 2 that are around all the time. Limited wifi is available.
We are seeking two people who would like to come to us for the end Nov start Dec 2017 to pick Kiwifruit flowers. The flowers are turned to pollen by the Mill which is sold country and world wide. Due to this district being free from particular diseases which are prevelant in other places this is a valuable contribution to the Kiwifruit industry.
