Helpers welcome NOW!
We are looking for someone who is PHYSICALLY FIT AND WHO WILL ENJOY helping with the vegetable garden, clearing and strimming the fields, digging holes, general handy work, especially woodwork and building (fences, dog houses, enclosures, gates etc.).

You will get 3 meals a day (mostly vegetarian, sometimes fish) and sleep in your own tent/van/camper.
There is a communal dining room (the house is still very basic and in need of restauration), bathroom and free wifi.
We are located in coastal Alentejo, where we have the best of both worlds.
Surrounded by fields and with no direct neighbours, in the middle of the beautiful rural countryside but only 20 minutes away from the stunning coast.
The project:
Our Vision is the creation of a peaceful and sustainable eco community for all its members, everyone who stays with us and for the animals in our care.
The farm:
The land consists of an old farmhouse that is to be restored and 23 ha of grazing land and fields.
It has a couple of small creeks and is close to 2 small lakes and a very big dam.
Part of the farm are 14 dogs, of which 10 are rescues, 4 horses, 9 cats which are also mainly rescues, one goat and a few chickens.
The work:
The house needs a lot of work on the inside, an outside kitchen has to be built, the garage converted into accommodation and the garden area around the house needs a lot of TLC.
The dog kennels also require fixing and extending.
The land has been neglected for a long time and is very overgrown, so the fields and creeks need to be cleared, the trees recovered, maintained and new ones planted, fences build etc...and the vegetable patch is basically non-existent at this point!
