Help renovate an old Sawmill and barns in the Picardy region (Somme Valley) in Northern France
Calling all persons wanting to have a taste of life in rural France, at the small village of Senarpont in the Picardy region / Somme valley.
Guy seeks help with renovation of an old sawmill and barns. Ideally looking for friendly, easy going mature people (male and female) who can work with others to provide help for 3 to 4 hours per day from mid July 2017. If you can spare a week or two or longer over the summer/autumn period this may appeal to you.
Motorcyclists, car drivers, camping, mobile homes, aviation enthusiasts and pet owners all welcome. This is a new project for me, so we will be all learning together and creating some memorable experiences.
All kinds of talents and knowledge are welcome, a willingness to help out is more essential. If you have general building or DIY skills that would be fantastic but a willingness to help out is more important. If you are reasonably fit, have a can do attitude, a sense of humour and are willing to muck in and do what is needed in terms of helping out with the on-going project to renovate a house and its accompanying barns I am interested in hearing from you. At the end of the day life is about having a good balance of work and play.
In return you will be able to enjoy simple rural living in the pretty village of senarpont in the beautiful Picardy region of Northern France. You will also have the opportunity to learn some building skills while working alongside or under the supervision of an experienced builder. A willingness to speak or teach others basic French would be an advantage as I would like us to enjoy a French language lesson over a shared evening meal (with a glass or two of wine to help improve our French!)
