Located in the beautiful Ruakituri Valley TeTuhi Station is an authentic busy NZ Sheep and Cattle farm. The property boasts rugged hill country, patches of native bush with wild boar and deer, fertile river flats.
The Ruakituri River is world renowned for the beautiful clear rushing water, deep swimming holes and trout fishing.
The Ruakituri is also the gateway to the stunning Urewera Forest National Park, home of the beautiful Waikaremoana Lake.
There is always plenty to do with tasks ranging from helping the shepherds performing animal health tasks, management duties with the sheep and cattle. Weed control backpack spraying and fencing maintenance.
We also have a large number of coloured wild horses which we are wanting to break-in, people keen to be involved in this would ideally stay from the beginning and see a mount through to riding stage.
Ideal helpers would stay for a couple of weeks or longer if desired, be safety conscious and have a passion for the outdoors. We could also accommodate shorter stays if desired.
A sense of humour and fun is essential. Also we need people who work happily both as part of a team but also capable of working unsupervised.
Accommodation can be in the main homestead for singles or a cottage is available for couples of multiples.
To get to our station you can fly or bus to either Wairoa (30 minutes away) or Gisborne (1hr away) from which we could collect you.
