Located in the bask country our farm has 4 fields of actions :
Conservation of local and traditional trees and plants varieties from the Basque country and South West France
Regeneration of the soil, landmarks and ecosystem within the local rural community
Passing on and exchange of craftsmanship, knowledge, skills and experiences
Artistic and cultural creation at the meeting point of the local tradition and modern vision.
The project was originally initiated by me Clement, the owner of the land in a process of personal life transition. He was then looking for an opportunity to move closer to his family and involve his father (suffering from Alzeihmer) into a project connected to the earth. The whole project took a much wider turn when he encountered Marlène Vissac and Guillaume Damay: there was all the space needed to create a vibrant hub of permaculture in the Basque Country.
Open to everyone, our farm provides permaculture courses and organizes workshops where permaculture values and particular set of skills are shared with volunteers. We manage the plantation in order to promote regenerative agriculture (by cultivating mostly perennial plants, with high protein values and carbon sequestration) and create a botanical conservatory respecting the ethics of permaculture and keyline design principles.
In 2018, we will organize courses with several teachers and actors of the French permaculture movement. Our workshops will be linked to the plantation’s evolution through seasons in order to guarantee its resilience and diversity.
We will also prepare an event in october to celebrate hazelnut tree and fruit.
