Founded in 1824, the farm is in the final stages of the restoration process, with a focus on respect for nature and an artistic approach.

Nicla prefer to hear from last minute helpers who can contact 2-7 days in advance and can stay at least 2 weeks. Grazie!

Nicla, (the well traveled host) has also done some work exchange in the past and is a very fair and interesting host, always keen to meet people from different backgrounds.

Nicla often exchanges labour and produce with fellow neighbors. Her natural, healthy recipes are something you will want to exchange also! Meals typically include organic vegetables and freshly made pasta as well as some nontraditional dishes Nicla picked up while living overseas.

The veges are homegrown, so are the fruits. The pasta is sometimes homemade, the jams, the pickles, the dried fruits and tomatoes, the fennel seeds are homemade, the liquid detergent and even the limoncello...all made, with love, by Nicla, here at her property.

#### Those who are truly interested in living a self sustaining, low waste lifestyle will find that this is a wonderful exchange ####

Nicla is a vegetarian, thus, all meals provided do not contain meat. If you wish to eat meat during your stay here you are welcome to purchase some meat yourself. You can cook it in the kitchen within your apartment. No problem.

The beautiful, ancient hillside village of Montepulciano is 3km from the farm & Siena is within daytripping distance.

The area is known for it's local specialties; wine, cheeses, olive oils and leather goods. There is a bus stop not far from the house where helpers can get a ride to the city of Montepulciano or the train station for access to other parts of Tuscany.

If your plans coincide with Nicla's, she will be happy to drop you off or pick you up.

Help is needed year round and could include pruning in March, picking plums in July-August, wood, help in the orchards etc.

Plumbers, builders, carpenters & helpers with experience in permaculture are needed for specialist jobs throughout the farm.

Other tasks include weeding, pruning, making jams, drying fruit, preserving tomato sauce or other needed projects. There is always something to be done.

You will find lots of pieces of art work, sculptures and use of imagination scattered throughout the property. Nicla loves art and using one's own talents. You are more than welcome to use your artistic skills or imagination while you are here.

Helpers reside in a private upstairs apartment with private bath, a kitchen and a balcony.

Lunches are general cooked by Nicla and are eaten on the shared terrace at the back of the property, over looking Montepulciano and beyond. Dinners are sometimes cooked by Helpers. It's a great way to share recipes from all over the globe.

Please feel free to get in touch if you need any more information. Grazie!
