We are retired Architects and have a lovely converted barn in the Dordogne - we are finishing it now and need help building a stone wall to a dependance, and a courtyard wall in the old French style, and a pidgeonnier.

We also need to finish the kitchen, fitting the doors and drawers to the units etc, and painting the windows.

We have an active veg. patch (potager) which produces most of the vegetables and 2 chickens for eggs. We have 4 hectares of grassland and wood and use a tractor to keep it in order. We are early retired and you would stay in the house with us, and eat with us.

We would expect 5 hours work a day, 5 days a week (weekends or other equivalent days off). We have a wood burning stove and geothermic heating if it gets cold.

There is no bus service here really so you would need your own transport if you want to travel like mad (bikes available but need repairing first !)

We are willing to collect you at the start of your stay and deposit you back (Limoges airport, Angouleme station - ie 40 minutes drive), and are happy to take you for short trips to the local shops and markets with us. We are happy to have people only for a week. We have been helpx'ers ourselves so know the routine and what makes for a good stay - and what is fair work !

We have a TV with freeview (not sky sports etc). ADSL wifi internet on site free. Bring your own lap-top. The house had full mod-cons, so there is nothing primitive - we just need help finishing it this summer. We are English and speak French well. No other languages.
