remote tranquil natural environment, we are building with round wood timber framing and cob, our gardens are organic and natural/permaculture inspired and establishing a food forest. boat access.
the help i need is general maintenance of the property, firewood collecting as we cook on fire and the bath is fire heated. seaweed collecting for the gardens, we have quite a good size garden area, the soil needs feeding to grow the vegetables. we have fruit of many verities and starting to produce small quantities. we are building with clay so this needs maintaining yearly, we teach ourselves and put into practice what we have learnt. other jobs include weeding, cooking, whatever comes up.
down time.... we have kayaks with safety gear to use very limited fishing gear but you can bring your own. the views from the top of the island are magnificent so hiking is definitely recommended.
Helping hours will be four to five per day depending on the weather. it is recommended you stay at least one week, helpers can depart by post boat every Tuesday morning with the cost to the helper $10.
you will receive vegetarian meals, breakfast, lunch and a light meal in the evening, you may supplement your meals with caught fish, muscles or any other seafood, we also do baking, muffins, cakes bread you wont go hungry.
Accommodation will be in tents, either bring your own or we have a few to choose from.
from the house site there is good phone reception with spark and telecom vodafone can be had at the beach. sometimes it might be possible to tether helpers on my own data.
