We are one of the larger experienced organic vegetable farms in Sweden still active and have accepted volonteers since 1991.
We are a certified organic vegetable farm that produces food for local consumption. We grow an abundance of vegetables and potatoes on 4 to 5 of our 50ha and on the rest, grains of many heirloom varieties of wheat and rye for our small home bakery.
Our vegetables are mainly sold through subscription baskets commonly called CSA (community supported agriculture) locally. We were the first in Sweden with CSA and have two "daughter" farms with whom we shared the way to start.
For more pictures see "bilder" on our website. See videos where we pack the CSA baskets there and also on cooking and nature walk in English.
We are in the process of reestablishing a permaculture designed forestgarden.
We usually accept helpers for vegetable farming from Mid-February through mid-December.We are now planning March and later 2018.Yyou are welcome to apply now.
During the winter months we accept helpers for sowing indoors, some baking and work in the woods. We sort vegetables and pack orders for day-care, schools and CSA winter basket (details on website)
A genuine interest in ecological vegetable growing and sustainability. Participation in cleaning the areas you use together on your own time and take turns with the cooking (you can have plenty of advice and help if you do not know how to cook vegan or vegetarian food or clean with enviornmentally safe materials)
You dont have to be young but fit , healthy (both mentally and physically),hard working and flexible.
We require basic facility in English so that you can relate to the group and understand the tasks.
You can see all the questions in the application on our website www.ramsjogard.net along with pictures (see "bilder") and videos about cooking, nature walk and other things about the farm.
There are a lot of questions in our application which you find by pressing "volunteer" because we want to be certain that we accept people who can live in harmony with others and appreciate farm life.
We have years of experince with farming and positive experiences with helpers living here. Please feel free to pose any questions you might have so that you would be comfortable in applying.
We are happy for your interest and support but only receive people on the farm as helpers who we have been personally invited and sent a detailed file about how to reach the farm.
We prefer genuine interest in learning what we can teach here and usually do not accept people who apply to many farms at once.
For years we have also officially trained students of agriculture from different countries for thier practice certificates and are happy to write a reference for you.You can apply directly or through your school.
If you want to apply or ask more questions you can find our email adress on the website as well.
