Free international summercamp in the Abruzzi National Park with yoga, hikes and music. 9th edition. Every year first week of August.
New! for people who are interested in staying for longer. Two months and longer; after two, three weeks there is the option of making some money if things are going well and you want to get more responsibility in organizing tours and helping with guests.
Thank you very much to all the volunteers that have come here in the past years and have helped us a lot not just materially but spiritually as well!
Few volunteer pictures, see our link above.
OUR PROJECT: yoga retreat center/Farmhouse located between Rome and Naples (for more information about the location go to our website at the page "where we are", there is a map) in the Abruzzi National Park, the oldest National Park in Italy and one of the most beautiful and important for fauna and flora in the whole of Europe - unique, native, endangered species such as marsicam bear and golden eagle just to mention two.
We grow our own produce for our own consumption. We also produce olive oil and wine. We have rabbits, sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, bees and a beautiful donkey (she is the mascot of the farm, everybody gets to love her).
We also grow a great variety of fruit and vegetables that play a big role in our diet.
Not long ago, we started a farmstay - we have 6 rooms and we can only host a small group of people per time. The guests are from all over the world, we always have many visitors, volunteers and pilgrims that stop by our farm. This is sustainable tourism, that aims to have a positive impact on our community. We also want to give the chance to our guests to develop an awareness and a critical approach of where the food that they eat comes from. We also offer a wide variety of activities that gives them the chance to reach mental and physical wellness. If you wish to know more about our project you can read an article on Seattle Times, see our third web link above..
The work of the volunteers is related to the farmstay and the farm and it varies a lot from season to season and from day to day.
Volunteers work in the morning and in the afternoon they are never required to work (during that time they usually explore the area or they spend time with the guests or they participate in the activities when it is possible) and then they help with the dinner and lunch.
You will get accommodation and three meals per day (the food is organic from our farm). When they take place and it is possible, you can participate in some of the activities such as mountain hikes, yoga and visit to the cheese making shepherd completely free.
This experience is particularly good for people who are willing to learn Italian and immerse in our culture we are happy to help you.
We speak Italian, English, Spanish and a bit of French. We have been hosting people since 2001 and it has been great so far.
NON SMOKER PREFERRED, NO ABUSE OF ALCOHOL PERMITTED!
WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE A PASSION FOR NATURE, AN INTEREST IN SUSTAINABLE TOURISM PEOPLE WHO ARE VERY INDEPENDENT, MATURE, RESPONSIBLE AND PHYSICAL FIT SINCE WE ALSO DO PHYSICAL WORK. WE NEED PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD PAST WORK EXPERIENCES WHO ARE REALLY USED TO WORK. WORK NOT RELATED TO FARMING BUT WORK IN GENERAL.
PLEASE, WHEN YOU CONTACT US, INTRODUCE YOURSELF, TELL US IF YOU HAVE HAD PAST EXPERIENCES AND YOUR SKILLS (IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE SKILLS OR PREVIOUS EXPERIENCES TO BE A HELPER IN HERE BUT IF YOU HAVE SOME LET US KNOW.) TELL US YOUR INTERESTS, HOBBIES AND IF YOU PRACTICE ANY SPORT, BEST TRAVEL EXPERIENCE AND WHY, HOW LONG YOU WOULD PREFER TO STAY ON OUR FARM AND YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS EXPERIENCE AND WHATEVER ELSE YOU WANT.

OUR PHILOSOPHY: difficult to summarize in few words! Let's try though: nature which is our mother we love therefore we respect.
