If you are interested in learning about Nepali culture, cuisine, traditions and want to know our festivals, then a homestay is the only way to see the real Nepal. By doing this you receive the benefit of a welcoming, authentic, warm environment which is rich with culture. You will also gain the opportunity to see Nepali hospitality at it is best and most genuine.
If you are looking to help us there is always cooking to be done and joyful housework. There is also a pre-school who takes volunteers a minutes walk from our house if you wish to work with children. Hello, my name is Shree Krishna. I have been organic farming since 1991, beginning with the idea of self-sufficiency. Now I am ready to serve international guests. I live here with my father, mother, wife and daughter. I have been a trekking guide for 25 years and everyday I practice yoga, jogging in the jungle and in the evenings Chandi chanting.
We grow corn, buckwheat, wheat, barley, chickpeas, broad beans, pumpkins, cucumbers, carrots, sweet potatoes, hairy potatoes, cassavas, many kinds of spinach, a lot of garlic, ginger, turmeric, tree tomatoes, cauliflower, cabbage, coriander, peanuts, soya beans and mustard seeds. We grow herbs and make many herbal teas like rhododendron, mint, lemongrass, rosemary, ginger, basil, gooseberry and guava. We make jams, candies and pickles from our own fruits. We also make sugarcane and grape wine sometimes.
We live at 1700m right next to the jungle. There is a friendly leopard living on our mountain. There are also barking deers, wil...

Experience Organic Tea Garden/Farm in Ilam, Nepal.
Ilam, Queen of Hills, is one of the richest districts in Nepal in terms of its bio-cultural diversity, natural landscape and flourishing professionalism in agriculture, especially in its cash crops sector. Ilam is also the most famous district of Nepal for the production of tea and well-known for its special brand: Ilam Tea.
Ilam is the main tea growing region in Nepal. Practically every house owns a tea plantation and there are various factories dotted across the landscape. The tea grown here is very similar to Darjeeling tea across the border in India and is exported to other parts of Asia, Europe and America.
Ilam's rolling hills are lush green with tea gardens. Thick white fogs alternatively descend to veil the gardens and then suddenly vanish.
Our tea farm is a small-scale family run farm. Besides, we also have some agricultural plots, where we grow varieties of vegetables and some cereals too. We also have few liv...
