Quillabamba is called "the summer eternal city". We have sunshine most of the year, so if you love nature you will have the opportunity to travel in your free time around this beautiful part of Peru. We are sure you will enjoy your stay in this tropical place.

Here is a link to the highlights that Quillabamba has to offer: http://www.aboutcusco.com/en/towns/quillabamba/

I run a private English school in Quillabamba, Cusco. This is an institution that where our main goal is to provide English skills, since there are no English schools in the area. We are located 3 hours from Machupicchu and 4 hours from Cusco. The future economy of Quillabamba will incorporate tourism, fresh fruit and vegetables, chocolate and of course coffee.

I strongly believe that language skills help to provide better opportunities in people lives. We are looking for volunteers who would like to stay at least 1 month and we would love to have candidates who will stay longer.

My husband Henry and I (Jessica) are an international couple with our first baby, living in Rural Peru. We met in a language school in the Sacred Valley where I was volunteering to teach English and my husband was teaching Spanish. We moved to Northern Peru to start a life together. My husband is a veterinarian by trade, and working in conservation for the 18 preservation areas in the Amazonas Region. I am a health educator currently working full time to care for our new baby, teaching English on the side and trying to keep our pizza business afloat. We both enjoy the ability to share in others culture and language through mutual exchange. We enjoy spending time outdoors, with our animals and eating from the abundance that Peru offers. Our schedules depend heavily on our new baby, some nights she goes to bed early, some nights late, same goes for the mornings. We need someone who can respect the need for peace and calmness in our home. We are highly adaptable and are looking for the... more inside

Our hostel is located in the heart of Huaraz, the trekking and mountaineering capital of Peru, nestled in the beautiful, glacier-clad mountains of the Cordillera Blanca. Here you are surrounded by breathtaking Andean landscapes, enchanting Andean culture, and adventurers from all over the world.

We are looking for an organized and responsible volunteer (or two!) to help out at the hostel for a minimum of one month. However, the longer you can stay the better!

Volunteer duties include:

• Checking in & out of guests
• Organizing reservations
• General cleaning and maintenance
• Basic bookkeeping
• Coordination & communication with clients

You would work six days a week, and the hours are pretty flexible day-to-day. The volunteer will, however, need to be available early in the morning when the majority of the clients arrive to town for check-in.

In exchange for your help, we offer the following:

• Room & board

We are a a small non-profit organization located in the low income district of La Esperanza in Trujillo, Peru our mission is to improve the quality of children's life trough education and help dogs from the streets. Currently we have two projects running. the dogshelter and teaching english program.

TEACHING ENGLISH PROGRAM

Because public education in Peru significantly lacks funding, and the majority of the community cannot afford private schooling, the members of our community have very few opportunities for education. Thus, children are born into poverty and few are ever able to rise up and become empowered. Recognizing that many members of La Esperanza are born into this type of poverty and have few job opportunities, our organization's founders decided to broaden the horizons of our friends and neighbors through providing education.

There is no greater freedom than knowledge. This belief defines the philosophy at our organization which offers English classes complete... more inside
