Spring is just around the corner and Raymond Island is a great place to spend time in Spring. We are looking for someone to keep house, to do cleaning and cooking for a three or four weeks from 18th or 19th August while I'm having a hip operation and recovery. 1000sq metre property set in natural bushland on a small Island in the Gippsland Lakes system. There are Koalas, Kangaroos, Echidnas, Kookaburras and many other birds. Fishing is great. We have a 22 foot Giest caravan where you would be self contained and do your own cooking. We are a retired couple and in return for accommodation we would like 2 hours per day help with the garden and general maintenance around the house. We need someone with handyman and gardening skills. Raymond Island is about 4hours travel time east of Melbourne by public transport. There is local transport available.

We are looking for one or two strong, fit, willing and able helpers to exchange their labour for full board. The work requires sanding back our painted weatherboard 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage with power sanding tools. Exterior only. Experience with using power tools as either a carpenter or painter would be great and the job does require you to wear protective mask, clothing and glasses, as we don't want you to inhale the dust or get chips of paint in your eyes. All gear will be supplied and is of top quality. The work would be for 5 hours each day, early morning risers would find it easier going, because in summer, the middle of the day is too warm to work. You are welcome to go away and do your own thing on weekends or a couple of days at any time. Board and meals is provided on the days you work. I'm a serious foodie and have cooked professionally for most of my working life, so your meals will be healthy and tasty. We also grow many of our veges and we have our own chooks for... more inside
