Hi, my name is Peter. I have lived in Agnes Water for around 17 years.
I have been hosting international visitors for about 5 years now and have hosted people from many countries such as France, Germany, Austria, Brazil, Spain, America, South Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Italy, Denmark, Switzerland, Taiwan, Israel, England and Belgium. (several of my visitors have even returned for a second stay at my home). I like to spend time with my visitors and get to know them. I particularly like to help people to improve their English and show them around the local area. I am happy to welcome helpers direct from their own country and help you to get started on your working holiday in Australia. I would recommend a minimum 2 week stay here to get you started and a month or more if you need some help with your English and communication skills.
I have a large DVD collection and I have found that watching movies with my visitors can be very helpful with improving their English skills. I oft... more inside

We have availability for 1/2 person, from the 16th of March.
2nd year visa ok.

Just over an hour's drive from Melbourne, Adsum Farmhouse is located in the beautiful hamlet of Glenlyon. The farmhouse was built in 1880 and sits on 3acres of lush volcanic soil. We are a family of 4 with 2 young children. Our Shire promotes paddock to plate and our nearest town, Daylesford, is well known as a tourist destination for its regional produce, food culture and natural mineral springs. We are creating an intensive food production hub that uses organic farming practices aimed at supplying the best quality food for the local community. Work incl. planting seeds, transplanting seedlings, garden bed preparation, compost making, picking, preparing lettuce mixes, food preservation, weeding, digging etc. If you don't like getting covered in dirt, standing outside in the country air with the sun blazing on you or building up a sweat then maybe we aren't for you. We are a working vegetable farm and... more inside

Update:

Help is needed with cattle work at present, mainly daily feeding of stock in preparation for the sales, always some fencing to do, chooks, and lambs to feed, some horse work and domestic chores and general cleaning up. Someone experienced with horses will be given preference. Help with cooking is also very much appreciated. There will also be some help needed picking and packing passionfruit. The property is situated on the banks of Stewart Creek where it joins the Daintree River and is within walking distance of Daintree Township about 100 kms north of Cairns. There are beautiful bush walks in the vacinity, including waterfalls. There are safe swimming places but you must seek advice first because there are crocodiles in the area as well. Most of your food will be home grown, meat, eggs, pumpkins, bananas, passion fruit. Time counts for your second year visa. Prefer 2 people at a time so you can keep each other company.
