Hi, We live in the beautiful 'Alpine Tropics' at the southern end of the Atherton Tablelands, FNQ. We have an amazing large netted orchard with over 30 varieties of fruit trees. In season we sell our no spray fruit at the local markets, which is a great day out.
Although farming work is never ending, we love to 'down tools' and show off the natural delights in our piece of paradise. With bushy forest walking trails, many waterfalls to splash in, hot mineral springs to soak up and so many stars to make you dizzy. Wildlife is everywhere to enjoy.
As well as the orchard we have a vegetable garden
to eat from, chickens and ducks who generously provide us with eggs and two cute dogs to play with.
We are a fairly easy going couple with broad interests. We work hard and enjoy people and would love a hand in our orchard.
If you have time and energy to come help us we would love to hear from you. Wendy and Des

We have a vacancy for a man who is interested in free, personalised face-to-face English lessons in our home here on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, in exchange for helping us. This opportunity is for a man who normally works in labouring or other physical employment. He must be physically fit, a cheerful and willing worker who is able to work without constant supervision, be able to think for himself and to improvise when necessary. If he has building, lifting and shifting skills, and driving experience and licence, that would be beneficial. Minimum stay is for six weeks. A longer stay of up to a few months would be OK provided we get on well together as family. His understanding of the English language must be of a level where communication is not difficult, so that he understands instructions without confusion.
He will live in our home, with all meals provided, and be treated as a member of our family. While he is with us he will be immersed in the English language all... more inside

A beautiful house surrounded by rainforest in Kuranda (~30 mins drive to Cairns). Kuranda is a popular tourist town, part of the UNESCO listed “Wet Tropics” and the home of the famous Barron Falls. It is also a few degrees cooler than Cairns.

I'm currently working on the land to create a beautiful and self sustainable farm.

This place is perfect for someone who wants to experience the Australian country life and surrounded by nature. We regularly get visits from Kookaburra. But if you are really lucky, you might get a visit from the endangered Cassowary!!

The house has two levels. I live on the top level and you live on the ground level, with your own room & verandah.

I'm looking for people who can help me with gardening/ farming/ landscaping for minimum two weeks, from 15 July 2018.

I am flexible with the days worked, as long as you worked your hours for the week, which is 18 hours for meals and accommodation.

You are also welcome to use the pool at the house and... more inside

First, before you read further - we only take Non-smokers (meaning you do not smoke - not that you smoke outside). If I find that you do smoke you will be asked to leave - I (and my children when they are here) are all asthmatics.

Although I can do vegetarian (you will have to excuse us eating meat), I don't do vegan. If you don't mention to me that you are vegetarian before you arrive you will need to eat what is put in front of you

If you fulfill these criteria please read on.

Being a helper means doing any job (within reason) that your host asks of you so if there is something that you can't do - ie, bad back, then it would be good to tell me first so I can think of jobs that might suit you better.

I am in need of people who are happy to weed and do odd jobs inside and outside the house, including help with the computer. The work is not hard but I do like people who just get in and do it rather than people who take as much time as they can to do one small job. You ... more inside
