We would welcome a couple in late May who could stay on for 4 days in early June to feed our pets and house sit for us while we are away. A car would be available for that time.

We are a couple in our 50s who have 3 adult children who come and go leaving us with spare bedrooms most of the time. We have a large, comfortable home on 20 hectares on the outskirts of Launceston. We run horses, some of them ours and some that are agisted here. The property has surface rock, gorse and wattle regrowth that we are clearing to increase our pasture area. We also have a large garden area . We would welcome short term helpers who would help us in the paddocks and the garden and possibly with some painting. (We may be able to offer some paid work for interior painting during June). A stay of a couple of weeks would be good and we are happy to accomodate a single or couple.
We have had several helpers during recent months and have enjoyed having them very much.
If you stay with us we wil... more inside

*** Please… Only contact us if you are a couple (male/female), as there is only one queen-size bed provided for you. ***

Esperance is between Albany WA and Adelaide SA. Having your own vehicle is ideal for getting around.

We have joined HelpX as much for learning about other people's culture as well as for the help around the property.

We are on a selectively cleared block, within easy walking distance to town. Our property has organic/permaculture gardens and fruit trees scattered throughout. We also have some beehives that we regularly collect honey from. The house has been designed using solar passive principals. It is powered by solar panels, a mini wind turbine and a generator using biodiesel that we produce ourselves. We are not connected to the grid.

Initially, stays are on a weekly basis but we are flexible dependent on the work. We generally like 6 hours of work per day in return for your own room with queen size bed and food. (We eat a mixed diet - e.g. m... more inside
