ABOUT US: We are a very busy family of five. Marco is from Chile and Libby is from New Zealand. Our son Atariki is 9 and our daughter Amara is 4 and baby skye is 5 months. We speak spanish and english at home. We have our own business selling crafts at markets and festivals.

At the moment we seem to be overloaded with projects, and would love a hand with any of the following; completing sleep out for woofers, preparing vege beds for summer, house work, cooking, childcare, market stall help.

We are very friendly, informal, welcoming, well-travelled, live in a great area, and will host you really well and appreciate all your help. We are sociable, but we will respect your privacy, and we also need some time alone, or as a family too.

ABOUT OUR HOME: Our home is cute, comfy and casual. It is an on-going project that is partially renovated, so there is always lots to be done. We live on 2 hectares of land and have 10 sheep. We dont have Wi-fi but do have broadband inte... more inside

Welcome! My name is Robert

I am hoping to find helpers to share and help create my home.

I live in an old home in a quiet setting near the ocean, 7km to Waipu centre, which is 140km north of Auckland and 40km south of Whangarei. I am gay-friendly (straight people welcome). A huge backyard, with rural views, and lots of native bird life. 6 acres... Lots of space. I enjoy the natural surroundings and "relish" in the garden. Have a small vege patch and an abundance of fruit trees so the kitchen can be a little chaotic as fruit ripens. My best mate is Charlie (my dog).
I may not always have time to show you around, as I am usually busy working but you will enjoy the area's natural beauty anyways. There are wonderful beaches nearby ... I can sometimes give you a lift to town or the beach. The home is idyllically secluded so the space is as free as you want it to be. Nearby ... swimming, surfing, bushwalking, tramping, cycling, hitchhiking, beachcombing - you can do a lot here. T... more inside

Our family enjoy having fun, gardening, building things, and enjoying all that our area has to offer.

In exchange for work on our property including gardening, weeding, DIY etc, we will provide accomodation, food, and fun.
Accomodation is in your own comfy caravan very close to the house with Wifi.

we are in the suburb of Whangarei, easily accessible to downtown by bus (if you don't have a car) or on foot(6kms).
our property is next to a reserve and although we are part of the town it feels very rural with bush and a stream on our boundary.
we are a family of 5 but the 3 children have now left home...we have had young men students/apprentice/workers living in the house for 3 years while we were renovating the house but the renovation still needs work and to finish it we have moved to a caravan on the front section...
we need to find mature and motivated young people who can work independantly and have some knowledge about building, painting and maintening a property. My husband and I like to have foreign visitors and we are always happy to share good conversation and help young travelers on their journey... we enjoy sailing, going for walks, gardening and eating good healthy food (our vegies come mainly from our organic garden).

Want to experience a slice of heaven? We are lucky enough to live in one of the most beautiful spots in the world (well we think so anyway!) and we would love a bit of help.
We are a family of 4. The 7ha property, the sheep, cows, pigs, chickens and dog keep us busy but we always ensure we find the time to enjoy all that this amazing location has to offer.
We live right on the waters edge on the beautiful Taiharuru Estuary 25 minutes from Whangarei. With our own private beach at the bottom of the garden we enjoy sailing, kayaks, fishing and other water activities. The area boasts some great surf beaches and walks.
We need a bit of help with a variety of jobs including gardening, fencing, pruning, building a vegetable garden, looking after the animals, cooking and cleaning and generally just helping out. Some of the work will be hard so you will need to be physically fit and prepared to put in the effort.
Whilst you will have access to the house, the accommodation is a cabin o... more inside

We are a couple with a young baby living by the Kaipara harbour, approx 2 hours north of Auckland. We have 10 acres and practice PERMACULTURE. We're continually expanding our veggie gardens and developing fruit orchard area. We live amongst beautiful native bush and there is almost always a project involving natural building techniques.
Michael is a baker of fine french pastries and artisan sourdough breads. We have a weekend cafe in our local village.
Right now on the land we're building a cob cottage, and so we are especially interested in helpers who have specific building or practical skills, but most of all in people who are interested in learning earth building, and enjoy physical work. This is a unique learning opportunity. Current jobs also involve helping get the summer gardens ready/weeding etc. We keep chickens, a house cow, and some pigs. We welcome those with a sense of humour, a passion for sustainability and conscious/responsible living. We enjoy a vegetarian (not ... more inside

We would love some helpers for times October/November open to negotiation on dates.

Our family farm is located in Parua Bay 2min walk to the beach with great swimming, fishing, kayaking and bush walks. The Farm is very family orientated with 3 small children and 1 dog, the farm is run by the family and has 3 houses.

We currently need help with Farm duties mostly tasks like weeding the extensive native plantings and doing weed control, the work can be physically demanding at times.

We would like helpers for aprox 1 week with the possibility of extending if required, we would like couples as we work during the day and find it can be lonely for just one person.

Look forward to hearing from you and sharing beautiful Whangarei Heads adventures.
Paul, Hanna and family

We are taking on helpers all year. They are staying in a separate two-bedroom cottage which has a heat pump and is only 30m from our house so our door is always open for a chat and or advice. We try to give couples their own room and the single helpers will be sharing the other room.
The helpers are asked to help four hours for every night they are staying with us. Some of our helpers will have the opportunity to come with us on Saturdays to the markets and help us sell our produce and for this you will get a day off during the week.

We live on a 4ha orchard on which we are growing plums, strawberries, garlic, feijoas and also vegetables for the local market. So the work our helpers are doing is mainly weeding, picking and pruning.

We are working mainly outside, sometimes it's wet and it is important that you can bring wet weather gear. We will provide gumboots and gloves if needed. The work is in general quiet easy but can also be physical, so we need people who don't mi... more inside
