We're a family of six who try to live sustainably off our land. Sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, and bees share our sweeping views of the Kaipara Harbour. We have numerous varieties of fruit trees including a few exotic species and large areas for vegetables and berries.

We are 5mins north of Kaukapakapa, 12 mins from Helensville, and 20 mins from Silverdale. The NEX bus to Hibiscus Coast (Silverdale) is the closest public transport. Your own vehicle is ideal but not essential.

We're on SH16, the alternate route north from Auckland so we're an excellent location if you're heading north towards Cape Reinga/Bay of Islands, or a stopping point on your way south again. We're about 40 minutes by car from downtown Auckland.

We're looking for some help in the garden, weeding, preparing beds for planting, and general garden maintenance, and some light housework.

We host a bi-ennial harvest banquet for approximately 200 people in our community in late March and we have... more inside

*WE ARE FULLY BOOKED WITH HELPERS UNTIL MARCH 20TH*

My husband and I have a lifestyle block with dry cattle plus a large number of pets (dogs, cat, parrot, goats, pig, alpacas, lizards, chickens). We have herb & vegetable gardens and a small orchard. Our house is spacious and helpers have their own cottage. We have a games room and swimming pool. My parents also live in a house on our -property. We're a caring, fun family and we live in a wonderful rural community. While we are fairly isolated we usually travel into town several times a week and are happy to assist helpers with transport. Farm work can be fairly strenuous so our helpers need to be able to cope with physical work, but we try to vary the workload. Please note that if you have allergies to grass or pollen our property is not suitable.

This season our projects include preparing vegetable gardens, trimming fruit trees, painting a fence, tidying up gardens & cleaning out animal enclosures.

Our property is about an hour's drive from Auckland airport with spectacular sea views on Awhitu peninsula: a 20 minute walk to west coast beaches and ten minute drive to half a dozen harbour beaches. We run an all grass cattle operation. This year we have 500+ beef bulls, three working dogs and a few sheep.

We ask a minimum of four hours work each day. There is always lots to do here. At the moment we are wanting ENERGETIC SELF-MOTIVATED people. Our highest priority at the moment is weed spraying with a backpack and paddock cleanup in the afternoons with the quad and trailer. Also, there is help needed with our garden and basic household chores.

There are four of us living on the farm. Joy (my partner) and myself, and my two children - Charlie 10 years, and Ella 9 years stay with us for weekends and school holidays. We are a busy, creative household, music playing and lots of projects on the boil.

Accommodation is separate from the house and shared guest bathroo... more inside

Greetings,

We are looking for some help around our house. The work ranges from cleaning to gardening and renovating. Someone who has experience with gardening, cleaning and house renovations is preferably.

Our house has 4 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, a swimming pool and we have access to French Bay beach where you can kayak, swim etc. You will be living with few people of 20-30 years old.

We will provide you with a room, shared bathroom, food and internet in exchange for 6 hours of work a day. You may need to do your own cooking sometimes as we are generally busy and working.

If you are a professional builder or gardener we are happy with less hours as you will be more efficient.

You also have the option of working 4 hours a day but we will not provide food.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Safe and happy travels ;)

Cheers
Basir
