We are offering a few hours of casual work each week to travelling couples wishing to explore the area. You will need a New Zealand work permit. We would like you to stay at least one week if possible.
If you have a tent of campervan, we will provide you with a site at the holiday park.

You must both be hard working and practical.
At the moment, we need help with cleaning the facilities and units and keeping the grounds tidy.

We are situated in the main street of town just across from the harbour. You have complimentary use of our kayaks to explore the estuary and inner harbour and the use of all the holiday park facilities. Whitianga is a lovely little town and good base from which to explore the rest of the peninsula.

I am a retired medical herbalist growing plants for medicine, 3 km north of Coromandel town, near Driving Creek Cafe; we have medicinal herbs growing all around the farm after years of finding the best spots for each herb to flourish . The work is sometimes farm work fixing fences and tidying up branches, we also collect chicken poo for the garden, prepare garden beds for herbs, plant trees, dig out wild cherry trees and privet along the Whangarahi River, and mulch fruit and nut trees. On rainy days we clean the house, or strain out herbal tinctures. Minimum stay 10 days.

We work 2 hours a day with 1 day a week off. This is work in return for accomodation, you provide your own food, (there is a communal kitchen/caravan for cooking) but you will be scheduled to work for neighbouring hosts for one meal each day, eg. 2 hours work for Alison in return for dinner; Showers and laundry at Naomi's, WiFi at Driving Creek Cafe (5 mins walk). there is a bicycle available to get... more inside

We are a small farm running to permaculture principles. We have a self built strawbale home and an ongoing interest in alternative building.

Animals on the farm include: cows including a house cow, sheep, chickens and donkeys. We also have vegetable gardens of various styles and we experiment with different ways to make the most of the poor soils here. We make many things for ourselves including: preserves, smoothies, cheese, soap, furniture, sewing and building. We are in a beautiful area next to the Coromandel Forest Park and the Te Mata river that has many swimming holes.
We prefer helpers with a genuine interest in permaculture/organic farming.

I offer a majestic view; a basic fare of soup, fish and chips, roast chook and fajista, "stu"shimi and pizza burgers etc; with homemade beer.

In exchange I ask for 3hrs per day (9-12). You do not work on the day of your arrival or the day you leave (except to make the bed etc).

Behind my place is the mighty Coromandel Range so you can go walkies up the creek into the bush. Maybe use windsurfer boards as kayaks and just paddle around. Possibly cycle 4km to Waiomu and walk 1hr to Kauri Grove. Or just chill with the view and/or catch a fish from the beach.

TEXAS HOLDEM (free or $20) in town on Thursday night.

Please Note: I have a mouse that lives in the house. You may also see the odd hedgehog, and waddling ducks sometimes appear in the lean to, scrounging for food. I have even had a possum run around the lounge and out an open window! Please don't apply if any of these creatures offend your sensibilities.

Sometimes it takes me a while to respond, so please be patie... more inside

We are a young couple (from New Zealand and Germany) looking for help (either 1 x or 2 x people happy to share a room) with general landscaping (we are repairing the garden and orchard after the flood - so a green thumb would be practical!), setting up a small chicken coop and some light building work - experience would be great but we are also happy to teach new skills to repair the flood damage we had.

4-5 hours work each day in exchange you will have a warm, private sleepout with bathroom and kitchenette, 3 x meals a day (we love to cook) and right on the beach.

Go for hikes, use our kayak, go fishing - you can even bring your own kitesurfing gear.

We have travelled a lot ourselves, and have lived in Europe and Australia. We enjoy hosting, great music, wine and fantastic food.

Minimum stay : 4 days - own car not essential, we can pick you up from Thames or Auckland.

I have a nice house up the coast from Thames, 2 minutes from the beach, and near to great bush walks.

I am a lover of music, people and society, with a view to developing solutions to sustain happiness and create harmonious living, and enjoy hosting people.

I have traveled, wwoofed, and worked around NZ, and am happy to point you in the right direction on your journey through our gorgeous country.

There is a sleepout that has a double bed, good for a couple, and also a single room with a very comfy bed, the beach is very close, and there is a kayak here if you would like to go fishing.

Most help needed will be light, some simple gardening, cleaning, and help with path building.

I live in the bush, in a beautiful environment, with a small orchard. There's always plenty to do, (inside and outside) sometimes heavy work, and I could do with some help.
