We are in the early stages of setting up our property, so the facilities are rustic and the jobs are many...
First job is setting up a yurt (The yurt is up and looking amazing!), then composting toilets (Partially complete and functioning.... just needs some extra touches and plumbing for sink) and shower building...

We are also working on a permaculture design plan for the property and while we are already starting on landscaping and planting a few things most of this will happen once the plan is complete. We are hoping to be ready for a large permablitz (https://permablitzbopnz.net) at Easter weekend.
If you are keen to be at the permablitz, we are looking for a bunch of people to help out from the 26th March for 2 weeks for prep and then to stay on after the blitz and you will be able to enjoy and experience this and a wee party after?! (work hours vary from our usual mon-thurs during these weeks)

The deal:
Work times are every week Monday to Thursdays only. there are s... more inside

Hi,

I`m a beekeeper in need of assistance, either with the bees directly or not. I`m located 16km South of Te Puke on a property that has a back boundary of native forest. I`m usually able to host people at any time of year, but am busiest in the spring. I currently have building projects happening, as well as lots of painting, waxing new bee frames, & also hands on beekeeping for anyone who is keen.

I also keep sheep & cattle on the property here, & hunt deer & pigs in the forest. These grass & forest fed animals form a large part of the menu here, so vegetarians probably won`t be happy with the diet. I cater to lots of herbivores & they all have hooves.

The accommodation is a spare room in the house. The house is a late 1800`s villa in need of replacement, but it keeps the weather out & I find it comfortable. Housework isn`t high on my priority list, but we try to keep it liveable. Any clean freaks who have never been outside a sterile environment may hate it here, but pe... more inside

Beautiful piece of paradise with views across the valley & a glimpse of the ocean. Peaceful tranquility with heaps of bird life.
A near new, comfortable home with lots of land for developing - a blank canvas waiting for your help to paint it. It is very much a work in progress! My vision for my property is the setting up of an organic & sustainable oasis.

I am looking for conscientious, responsible, willing helpers that take pride in their work & have a great attitude. You would be required to work 4 - 5 hours each day & need to be fit & strong, as the land is quite hilly (& have good supportive footwear). The length of stay would be 7 - 10 days.

In return you will be made to feel very welcome & I will provide 3 meals a day (plus morning & afternoon tea) & good, comfortable accommodation. I haven't been very well lately so I need & would very much appreciate someone who enjoys cooking & could help prepare the meals.

My home & property is smoke, alcohol & swearing free... more inside

Sorry, we are unavailable for Helpx now until mid April. Sorry.

We live beside the beach at Mt Maunganui. We have a domestic garden that we would like help with. I have a weaving loom that I need help setting up. Sometimes we have house cleaning to do too. I am part of the boomerang bags recycling co-op so could also use some help with sewing. We also help our parents at a kiwifruit orchard with 2 major native plantings. These need weeding and track maintenance but we would be the hosts. We can do a range of work options from 4 hours. We can offer 3 meals per day. Our 2 adult boys come home for holidays sometimes and we sometimes host international students for our local Language School. We have a curious cat who thinks she can order us about. We are a busy but happy house.
We can pick up from the local bus stop in Tauranga or Mount and offer transport to our parents place in Omokoroa. Arrive on Thursday through Sunday if you can.
