We're looking for a couple of hard working, nature lovers to work on our 60 acre property, which is mostly native rainforest. Chainsaw experience to help restore our 6km bush track would be helpful but not essential. If you can't use a chainsaw we still have plenty to do in this wonderful setting! We have chickens & lambs that need feeding, Airbnb Rental Accommodation and have building projects on the go - all of which we'll need your help with. You need to be physically fit, enjoy outdoor work & be able to work on your own in the bush. We are 9 km from the town of Ohakune, on the edge of the Tongariro National Park & Ruapehu ski fields. The area is great for walkers, trampers & those interested in the natural ourdoors. The land is predominantly temperate native rainforest which we are in the process of protecting & restoring. We hunt & trap possums, stoats, ferrets & deer in our bush to protect the native birdlife & rainforest. Hours of work are roughly four per day - but you can... more inside

We travel NZ for 33 weeks of the year starting late sept through to the beginning of may.
We travel with The Original Gypsy Fair, and run a mobile food kitchen. We start in the middle of the North island working our way around it so that by the middle of February we are in Wellington ready to cross over to the South island to do about 12 fairs.
We would like help on the Fridays, Sat & Sun. Over the christmas and newyear period we work eight days straight, and some weekends are longer ie easter, and some anniversary, and public holiday weekends.
You would be working about 6 hours each working day but you would have the days from Monday to Thursday free, unless it's a long weekend.
This is a great opportunity for someone to travel round NZ see both the north and south islands and to experience this unique lifestyle, and see our beautiful country.
Our fairs start in Whakatane, then Gisbourne, then we are in the Hawkes bay region for about 4 weeks before going to different towns t... more inside

A good sense of humor is a must.
If looking on Google Maps, search 67a Bernies drive Tangiwea. I would NOT recommend travel by Mana bus we have found them not helpful.

Travel down Turakina Valley Road for about 7 km
Turn left at Bernies Drive where there are two mail boxes, one red, and one yellow.
At the end of that road travel through a gateway that turns left and continue to drive until you see the house.if you are traveling by bus get off at Waiouru let us know details so we can pick you up. There is now WiFi.

We are surrounded by bush walks, mountain bike tracks, and a 5 minute drive to the lake. We will provide comfortable beds, spacious living areas, outdoor living and delicious home cooked food and in return we would like help to maintain our house and property, some childcare and experience with horse riding would be helpful. We expect our helpx to work 4-6 hours per day but are more than happy to be flexible if there are any activities you wish to do. Having transport is preferred but not a must. We welcome your enquiry as we enjoy having helpers to stay. Please give us the exact dates you wish to come and stay.

Lake Taupo is a beautiful place with so many activities to experience. We can help you plan your Tongariro Crossing trip and all the other outdoor activities.

Market day is Saturday morning and you will be helping Martin with selling eggs and other produce.

We do not have a farm but you will be helping with seeding, gardening, hydroponics as well as housework and other chores.

Occasionally there is heavy stuff to carry so you need to be okay with that.

When you work for a whole day you have a whole day off. When you work for the morning you will have the afternoon off.

On your days off we prefer it if you go out and see all the sights of Taupo rather than stay in your room all day. We will let you know all the things there are to see and do.

We provide all your evening meals and breakfast.

On the days you are working we supply your lunch.... more inside

We are a family of 3 (mum and 10yr old twin girls) and have a small lifestyle block with 3 cows, 2 sheep, a goat, hens and 2 cats. I work from home around the girl's school and sport commitments.

We are looking for a female that will fit into our closeknit family unit to help with garden clearing & weeding, some household spring cleaning, and possibly stripping wallpaper / preparing some areas of the house ready for painting. Helping with normal everyday things like meal preparation and dishes is expected.
We are pretty relaxed, but hardworking and we expect that you will join in as part of the family.

You will have your own room with a double bed and we ask that this is kept tidy.

We are a 25 minute drive from Taupo township, and currently head into town two afternoons a week after school for the girl's dance classes. With some notice, I am happy to make a specific trip into town on an additional day during the week to drop you off for some sightseeing, etc.

Hi Helpx people... Monty here

Our new friend George (photo 3) has just arrived and our people need help feeling him so he can grow a bit bigger, he's too small to play with at the moment. As the weather hasn't been very good our people are behind with garden stuff, and would like some help with next years firewood. Cooking, baking is always something our people like a hand with....
(Us dogs don't mind it either....)

If the bossman has time he likes to show/teach helpers how to make wooden craft stuff in his workshop....

Of course the jobs still include walking/playing with US the Dogs.... ( Most Important )

Also there's some general house and garden work and the Boss man always likes it when he doesn't have to wash the dishes.
So if you are planning to be in our area at present, we would love to host you.

All you need to give is about 2- 4 hrs of your time a day and in exchange we will provide you with your own room, WiFi and a Evening Meal.. If we are going out on... more inside

We live approx 12 mins by car from Taupo town centre on a lovely lifestyle block, with horses and a few other animals, our home has an outside lovely sleep out with its own bathroom, so some privacy can be gained from the family. (you will need a car to drive into town and back)

We have one daughter, whom usually has friends around and a busy lifestyle, but we are super friendly, accommodating and love having people stay from overseas.

There is so much to do in Taupo, with walks down the road and the lake a mere five minutes away, stay and do the crossing and enjoy what Taupo has to offer
3 to 4 hours work per day and food is available.. plus a fabulous family to stay with .. light to medium duties, but car is essential

The main work around the home is weeding, gardening and some work in the paddocks and general house maintenance dates from September to November 2017
