We have a Kennels and Cattery business situated 12 minutes or 18km north of Taupo on SH1 at Oruanui. We also have horses, chooks, doves and a couple of cattle as well as the dogs and cats. We have a 7 year old daughter Lexie and a 21 year old son Alarn away at uni studying design in Wellington. Steve works at the local mill so I need help around the property and in the Kennels and Cattery. We ride horses with the Taupo Hunt and Lexie is a member at the local pony club. We enjoy getting out on the the lake on our boat or going mountain biking. We have a spa and a room separate from the house. The Kennels and Cattery buildings are 5 years old and the business has over 1500 clientele. You can check it out via our web link above. Thanks, Sharon and Steve

We grow olives on three properties and manage two vineyards all situated in the south western corner of lake Taupo. All our land is situated within a stones throw of both the beautiful Kuratau river and the pristine shores of Lake Taupo.
In exchange for one half days work each day we offer good food and accommodation. This is 7 days a week but obviously we do relax with the odd boat trip/waterskiing etc. Guests are expected to offer to help with general household duties ie food preparation, cleaning, dishes as part of a normal day and not counted towards work hours.
If this sounds harsh then it is not intended to. We are most welcoming to young people who are prepared to pull their weight, get up at a reasonable hour and join us in what must be one of the most pleasant areas and lifestyles in the world! - Please if this doesn't suit you don't contact us!

**Help required from Mid April onwards**
WE HAVE MOVED! The new farm is 650 cow dairy farm in the middle of natural bush and forest, where wild pigs and deer roam through the paddocks. If you click on the satellite image on the map below and zoom in it shows perfectly how the farm sits in a basin/crater that is surrounded by bush.
We ask 4 hours of work in exchange for meals and accommodation, work is likely to involve anything from helping out on the farm to helping in the house and garden.
Friendly family environment, we have one daughter living at home aged 15 and one daughter aged 20 who lives nearby.
Experience is not needed, enthusiasm, a good attitude, and not minding getting your hands dirty are much more important ...and a sense of humour is essential.
Any one that can cook a decent meal is also very welcome! :o)
IMPORTANT-Please note:
1) This is a busy working farm and potential helpers need to feel comfortable around large animals.
2) Due to a poor road ... more inside
