This location is great for accessing the best of the area, whether it be Taupo town's activities or the mountains for skiing, lake Taupo, hiking or exploring the latest bike tracks.

As an experienced teacher of English as a second language, if you wish I can help improve your English during your stay. Mostly though, we hope to be fair and flexible in that we get help through your work and you enjoy some of Taupo's lovely attractions and activities while staying with us.

We can host for 2 - 4 nights at a time or longer.

OWN TRANSPORT is preferred for our helpers as we are 14km from Taupo township. Sometimes, we will take helpers who don't have a car and will drive them into town on their day's off, but this needs to be arranged beforehand.

You would have your own private bedroom. The accommodation is either one of the two spare bedrooms in our house. Helpers have a separate bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. It is a big house and there is plenty of room!

We welcome your enquiry as we enjoy having helpers to stay. You will see above that we need ONE person only.

If we offer you a place, please reply to our email within 24 hours.

Tell us the exact days you wish to come and stay.

Lake Taupo is a beautiful place with so many activities to experience. We can help you plan your Tongariro Crossing trip and all the other outdoor activities.

Market day is Saturday morning and you will be helping Martin with selling eggs, plants and other produce.

On the other days you will be helping with seeding, gardening, hydroponics as well as housework and other chores.

Occasionally there is heavy stuff to carry so you need to be okay with that.

You will work for either a whole day or half day. When you work for a whole day you have a whole day off. When you work for the morning you will have the afternoon off.

On your days off we encourage you to go out and spend your time getting to know Taupo and seeing all the sights.

Hi we are Brian and Verona - both kiwis - we are hard workers but love to relax and have a bit of quietness at the end of a busy day. If your interested in staying somewhere that feels like a home away from home one of our places could be right for you.

We have 2 places we call home - both listed on airbnb - 1 located in a rural township called Raetihi (perfect for Tongariro crossing and other national park adventures) and one close to the sea in Castlecliff, Whanganui.

In Raetihi we have great outdoor adventures close by - tramping, swimming in the river, mountain biking you will love it here. In Whanganui we are close to "the mole" a local surf spot, interesting history & buildings, great Saturday market.

Help exchange: we generally expect 4 hours per day on the days you are helping with the flexibility to take days off to explore locally. We will provide breakfast, lunch, & dinner and a room with internet access.

Our family is spread over two locations and you are welcome to spend time with us in both horse farms.

Currently we have a position for a horse guide available at our Ohakune farm...

In Ohakune, we live close to Mt Ruapehu and the Tongariro Crossing and just 4 kms from the picturesque holiday town. We have 10 horses for our year round horse trekking. We welcome you to come and enjoy the challenge of learning new skills and sharing your own. We are happy to host helpers to work with the horses, especially if you are a rider and with experience. For those who wish to learn to ride we are happy to give you the opportunity. If you are not a rider that is ok too as there are plenty of farm tasks to be done each day such as helping in the garden.

I AREADY HAVE A HELPER FOR JULY (Karena). I'M LOOKING FOR A COUPLE OF HELPERS FOR A WEEK IN AUGUST

I can provide about one week of work and adventures every month for helpers. Work for 20 hours or so and spend the rest of your time going off exploring Middle Earth.

Our home is close to the Ohakune Mountain Road that goes up Mount Ruapehu to hiking tracks, LOTR filming sites, and to Turoa ski field. The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is about one hour from here. Mountain bike tracks, and canoe trips down the Whanganui River also start at Ohakune.

As I have got older, my legs and back have started to lose their former strength, so I appreciate young people coming to help me. I mainly need help with gardening - digging garden beds, transplanting shrubs, planting flowers, weed spraying, lawnmowing. I'm also making LOTR costumes: you can also help with those if you like.

I'm enjoy hiking around the slopes of Mt Ruapehu. I'm 76 and can't walk as far as I used to but I can g... more inside

are you heading to the tongariro crossing? we live a 30 minute drive from the start of the crossing... have some time to kill before your whanganui river journey? hello travelers! survivor kakahi is a little unconventional and may not suit everyone! we do not supply 5 star accommodation, BUT! we do supply respect, great conversation and lots of laughs, food is plentiful and delicious, and a cold beer at the end of a good day is highly likely.

we enjoy meeting new people and want to host people who have life/travel experience and a degree of maturity, prefer 30 and over. we have two young children, and we value our family time, but there are plenty of opportunities to practice english, converse and relax. we are both energetic and like to be around people with high energy levels and lots of enthusiasm.

ok, so if you are still interested, read on!

ideally we are looking for a single handy person with their own camper van. having said that, we are open to other possibilities! ... more inside
