We are a married couple in our early thirties with three young children (Emma who is 5 and Ben who is 3 years old and Angus is one year old ) on a family sheep and beef farm, we also grow asparagus in the spring which we take to the local farmers market each Saturday. The location of the farm is approximately 40 minutes from Gisborne.

We are looking for keen and energetic people to come and stay and be a part of our family and partake in our busy daily lives. This would involve spending time with our children, helping around and in the house and garden, getting out and participating on the farm and the asparagus patch.
At this time of year (November and December ) our main requirement from helpers is to help with the children, housework and garden ( we are trying to build a large organic vegetable garden) and with farm work.
You would be staying in our home or in our brand new sleepout that has stunning views of the farm, and all meals and transportation will be provided.

The farm here is 1910ha with big hills and rivers 1hr inland from Gisborne. We run a sheep and beef breeding station with 5000 sheep and 700 cattle. Richard runs the farm full time with help sometimes from his young family and a couple of staff. Amanda manages the household full time. We have 4 children Mia 7, Angus 5, Beau 3 and Jed 1. The right person would need to be comfortable around children and animals plus the madness this brings. The garden is in need of a tidy up Weeding, pruning, planting... We love a large vege garden which we aim to solely feed the family from. But we have just moved to the property and need to get this sorted! General cleaning duties around the house, plus helping with cooking and prep and if experienced some painting.
We have maintenance on farm buildings to carry out as well. Often there is help needed on farm too.
Definitely the right helper needs to be good with kids as some help will be required with them. It would be great if you have so... more inside

"WOOFING ON THE EDGE OF THE EARTH"

This is a unique chance to live and work on one of the most eastern farms of the world.

Definitely a Must-Do for any kind of traveler.

My variety of things to do is big, like help running a campground as well as the farms, or with a bit of leisure time you can go fishing, or walk along the beach, or walk up the hill to see old Maori Pa sites.

On the farm, we feed and herd the animals, drive the quad and mower, have a lot of other experiences and cook if you like.

So it is everything except boring woofing on the edge of the earth.

Only one requirement is necessary, I expect you to bring a serious working attitude along. Everything else I am keen to teach you.

You will live with me on the farm, enjoying my tasty food and learning basic Maori words.

The best thing, you see THE FIRST SUNRISE IN THE WORLD for FREE while you are staying here.

So come and experience the farm feeling for a few days or weeks or longer if y... more inside

Hi there,

We are a young farming couple in our mid thirties running a sheep and beef farm about forty five minutes from Gisborne town, in a truly beautiful spot. You'll need your own transport to get here. We have 2 cats, 1 dog (7 farm dogs), 2 pet lambs and about 4000 farm animals.

You'll have your own bedroom and bathroom. We have a tennis court and swimming pool which you can use on your down time. Rere Rockslide and the Eastwoodhill arboretum are only minutes away. We also have free Wi fi here.

We have 2 x children and need some help looking after them and around the house and the garden and maybe on the farm.

We're looking for people a week at a time.

Look forward to hearing for you.

Cheers

We run a farm about 30 km out of Gisborne in a fabulous rural area. So you need your own transport to reach us. We have 1100acres of beautiful land to walk and sightsee over. We breed our own Bulls, for our yearly sale. We also have cows, sheep, pet lambs and also a beautiful calf, two cats, (farm)dogs, and a lot of fun. There are always jobs that we need a bit of help with, for example woodwork, gardening, playing tennis, stockwork, fencing and putting golfballs.

You will have your own room in our house. In your leisure you could use our tenniscourt, go for a walk, spend your time with the animals or go into Gisborne or Rere Rockslide and the Eastwoodhill Arboratum are only minutes away. Wi fi internet connection.
There is always something to do.
If you have special dietary needs or a vegetarian, you will need to provide some of your own food lentils, couscous, or any veges that you might think you need. Meat meals are provided, but vegetarian is up to you.

My husband and I along with our adult children and their families are sheep, beef and deer farming on the beautiful East Coast of the North Island. We would welcome travellers who would like to come and stay and experience our dynamic farming operation. For accommodation we have a small house with 2 bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. You can choose to cook for your selves or join us for meals (or a bit of both) we have internet access and free wifi. You are welcome to use the laundry. We would like help with general farm and household tasks, and a bit of tidying up in the garden. Your own transport would be preferred as we live 40ks from Gisborne or 15ks from Tolaga Bay which has the longest wharf in the southern hemisphere, we have beautiful beaches and walks. You would have the opportunity to view our farms, ride a horse, and if suitable at the time go crayfishing, pig or deer hunting.
