I live in Palmerston North City in the Manawatu. I am a single working mother with 2 small boys aged 2 and 4 years. I have a pet dog and cat and a 4 bedroom house with plenty of room for One or 2 helpers. I am a school teacher and would love help with gardening, house work and general maintenance and it would be awesome if you enjoyed being around children as my boys love to play games and ride bikes and chat to people from other countries. For 4 hours work you would receive a bed, food and wifi.
We enjoy having people in our house and feel free to share you specialty cooking skills at anytime. We are also a part of a lovely communal organic garden with pigs and chickens and lots of animals which we visit once or twice a week.
We are close to river with lovely walks which you are able to access easily as well as being 2 to 3 minutes from town.

We need help from December 18th (yes, you can stay for Christmas).
We live on a fantastic beach front lifestyle block and we need general help with property maintenance, like gardening, fence repairs, painting, weeding, etc.
We expect 5 hours of help and good company for which we offer food and accommodation on one of the most stunning parts of the coast.
Because we live rurally and there is no public transport close by you need to have your own transport.
We'll use the first three days to see if it clicks between you and us.

We are a family of 4 living on the property.

We are interested in organics, biodynamics and healthy living. Couples and solo travellers are welcome, however couples are preferred. My husband works at the local Maori University and I am working as a social worker at a local college.

Jobs on the property include, work in the gardens, property/house maintenance and household chores. Most jobs here are very physical so a good level of strength and fitness is required.

We live 15 minutes cycle from the beach and 10 minutes drive from the hills. So walking, swimming, biking and surfing are things we like to do and can try to help facilitate visitors to do also.

We all enjoy having visitors from around the world to our place as we have not yet travelled. It is great for our teenagers to meet people with different backgrounds than our own. We prefer you stay at least 2 weeks as it takes time to learn our routines.

We are a farming family looking for an au pair or traveller that has experience working with young children and running a household to join our family for 8-12 weeks, starting around the end of November or start of December 2017. Either short or long term.

You would enjoy free accommodation & meals as well.

You will need to have initiative, be very organised, be an outside person, be happy and outgoing and have your own vehicle (just for your own independence).

We have 3 active boys 8yrs ,6yrs and 3yrs. All love to play outside, ride their bikes, swim and play rugby.

Two will be at school 5 days a week 8:30am-2:30pm, and our 3 year old will be at kindy two days a week. Most weekends would be free for travelling, therefore having your own vehicle would be ideal.

My husband works on the farm and I work in the nearby city of Palmerston North 2 days a week and the rest from home as well as training for multisport/adventure racing events.

Help around the house would ... more inside

Hi!
My Wife and I live on a 1450 acre dairy farm in the South Wairarapa 10 minutes from Martinborough (a wine village), Greytown and Featherston. We have 4 children: 1 working in London, 1 working in Auckland and 2 at university in Christchurch. Our youngest will be living at home over summer as well!

We are looking for help getting ready for the wedding of our eldest daughter in March next year 2018. No skill needed, the work would be mainly painting, gardening and general tidying etc.
We look forward to meeting new people and new cultures. My Wife, originally from England, always enjoys meeting people from Europe. In the past we have hosted young farmers from Scotland, as well homestay students from Japan and a French traveller lived with us for three weeks - great fun! Wairarapa is our beautiful home and we have many recommendations of things to do in the area (wine tasting, cycling through the vineyards, walks and cafes/shops) so that you can experience the best of our hom... more inside

Hi

We welcome Helpers over the summer - home most of the time. The hens are laying properly again (eggs for breakfast?) - though there can be a bit of detective work needed to find the eggs!

We are a semi-retired couple living close to Greytown in the Wairarapa. We have a modern house (double glazing, solar water heating, wood fires) on 2.2 hectares. We have our own hens and the neighbours’ sheep, and a large vegetable garden and orchard. We are NOT vegetarian or organic though we try to be conservationists. We have a pizza oven which we enjoy lighting up for visitors, and a spa pool.

We are halfway between Woodside railway station (one hour from Wellington) and Greytown – walking distance into the town. We can collect you from the train or bus in Greytown if you do not have your own transport.

We have a variety of accommodation to offer, in the main house or, if preferred, in a self-contained separate building. We can accommodate 1 to 2 helpers at a time for ... more inside

Hello, we are Rachel and Dennis. We live with our daughter Connor, aged 15 and son Hunter aged 13, on a lifestyle block on the edge of Pukaha Mt Bruce, a native bird reserve, as a result we receive visits from many native birds including Kaka, Tui and Kereru to our block. Also in the area are bush walks and some fishing.
We have a variety of animals, a cat who is mostly an outside pet, a house cow with her calves, horses, a small flock of sheep, a bunch of chickens and 2 hives of bees.

We are working towards becoming a self sustaining property and as a result at times we have interesting projects on the go such as cheese making, hide curing, etc, and a philosophy that if we can buy it in the shop, surely we can make it (although sometimes not, as it turns out). We enjoy good food and people who like to cook are always welcome. Please inform of any dietary requirements.

We have many projects including building, gardening, firewood and fencing as well as general farm maintenan... more inside
