HELP! We need a helper to sort out our garden for us and make it winter ready. No heavy work, just weeding, cutting back bushes, get rid of leaves, clean the veggie patch and general light garden stuff. The garden is not even that big, but our lives are so busy these days that we just canít find the time to do it ourselves, so we would love a helper for about a week Some time after the 5th of June. It should be a pretty easy stay, with light work, good food and company. We are a Kiwi-German-Italian family of 4 and two original Kiwi cats at the very edge of Palmerston North overlooking the Manawatu River. Palmerston North is halfway between Wellington and the Central Plateau Volcanos (Tongariro), and can be easily reached by Intercity Bus or Naked/Mana Bus. We have a pretty luxurious downstairs bedroom with a comfortable double bed and its very own modern en-suite bathroom. The area is great for running, walking and cycling along the river just behind our garden fence, or to enjoy t... more inside

The next space is from 4th June 2018.

we believe staying with a family you can learn more about the new zealand culture. Then we can try explain a few aspects of farming if you are interested. We have 24 great reviews of past help x people. We can sometimes say yes to arriving within a couple of days.

You can come for between 10 days and 18 days. just give me dates and we are fairly flexible unless i have a help x booked in. Once you have dates confirmed from Rachel that space is yours. Having girls that get upset when some of our help x friends leave it is too difficult for us. That is why we say maximum 18 nights. There is always a chance some of our longer stay help x may change their length of stay which may create a place to stay. After doing help x for 5 years we have decided that after a few situations with help x and our girls that we are going to ask that you are 25 years or older. For example If you are a couple we will say yes if one person is aged 26 an... more inside

We are hoping to find our next Helpx from end of June or early July.

We have both traveled and lived with other families so we know what it's like being in someone else's home far away. We also know what it's like when you just need a break from hostels and all the other travelers and a place to collect your thoughts and make your next travel plans. I used to find hostels felt so dirty and public and hard to keep your belongings safe and make your next travel plans. We hope our home can be a nice experience for you for you to see some of the area and experience our lifestyle and plan your next travel destination.

We have a 22 month old boy who's a really easy cheerful toddler and my partner works long hours contracting on farms and I started a new business this year so we could just do with some extra hands to help with household chores, cooking, looking after our toddler and cleaning. We start work around 6 and he needs walking to his daycare at 8am so we would leave him wit... more inside

Hello, we are Rachel and Dennis. We live with our daughter Connor, aged 15 and son Hunter aged 13, on a lifestyle block on the edge of Pukaha Mt Bruce, a native bird reserve, as a result we receive visits from many native birds including Kaka, Tui and Kereru to our block. Also in the area are bush walks and some fishing.
We have a variety of animals, a friendly dog who lives outdoors, a cat who is mostly an outside pet, a house cow with her calves, horses, a small flock of sheep, a bunch of chickens and 2 hives of bees.

We are working towards becoming a self sustaining property and as a result at times we have interesting projects on the go such as cheese making, hide curing, etc, and a philosophy that if we can buy it in the shop, surely we can make it (although sometimes not, as it turns out). We enjoy good food and people who like to cook are always welcome. Please inform of any dietary requirements.

We have many projects including building, gardening, firewood and fencin... more inside

Kia Ora Koutou

We are YOUNG couple in our early 40s with four children aged 16, 14, 11 and 10. We manage a large sheep and cattle station on the Coast of the lower North Island with 20,000 stock units of sheep and beef cattle. Check out the station facebook page "owahanga station" for more information.

We are looking for helpers to come and stay with us and help out with farm tasks, gardening, farm maintenance and general tasks around the home. There is lots of variation in the types of jobs that we need help with and anyone with practical skills and experience would be super. Working with livestock does require skills and experience so sometimes it is not possible for helpers to work with the stock much but that is not always the case and at certain times of the year, there will be plenty of work with stock to do. However, there are plenty of other tasks to do like cutting and stacking wood, painting, weed spraying and the like if there isn't much happening with stock.

We have just moved to a beautiful 9.5 acre block and are active cleaning everything up, growing fruit (orchard is already established), and veges in a small greenhouse.

We are a family of two adults, two cats and two dogs (all pets are fed raw), and are enjoying spending time at the land. We could use some help with collecting firewood (which is spread all over the place), weeding, using ride-on lawn mower and weed eater, planting and re-planting, repairing of buildings and sheds, mulching, sometimes looking after our dogs - depending on your preferences.

We have a separate sleep out for one person to stay, which contains toilet and shower as well. Internet is available.
Due to hyper sensitivities we are smoke and perfume free.

We are living right at the Golf Course. This is just 5 minutes away from Otaki town, and 5 minutes to the beach, with a car. A car is available for short trips, but if you plan to do longer excursions in the area, you would need your own vehicle or ... more inside
