We live on a beautiful sheep and beef farm in the South Wairarapa. We are situated 15 minutes south of the wine village Martinborough and 5 minutes from Lake Ferry. Cape Pallier is 20 minutes away where you can see breathtaking rustic scenery, climb the historic steps to the lighthouse and see a huge seal colony. There is a train the travels from Wellington to Featherston and we can pick you up from there.

We have a little coffee and gift store on the farm which is open Thursdays to Monday. We make great coffee and fresh food and is on a popular tourist route to the coast.

We will sometimes need help in the kitchen, barista and with waitressing

There is always gardening and cleaning windows on the farm.
We have 3 children including one very sport outdoorsy boy and often have au pairs and nanny to help with them as Guy and I are both working at times

We can guarantee a great experience as we enjoy have cool, active and positive people around.

Speak to you soon

Hi travelers and explorers,
We are looking for some help From march onwards.
Very easy help. It's quiet in the day when we are all out at work and school. Only you and a very cute puppy at home! it's just a bit of tidying up after the family, some housework, checking on horses and taking care of the puppy. A little gardening and picking up horse manure daily too. Just 4-5 hours per day and if you want to go and explore and take a day off, that's ok if you would like to do the other hours on another day. We are flexible.
To cycle to Masterton it is 8km. In Masterton there is a train to Wellington. Wellington is 1 and a half hours away.
The accomodation within our house is really modern ,comfortable, private and spacious for you. En suite double room and amazing views in our new house. We have a bike you can use. Access to the river for a great swimming place on hot days and we have wifi. If I am driving to town, I am happy to take you if you want to go out f... more inside

Hey there. My name is Dean, from New Zealand, i normally live 6 months of the year in a wee gypsy village in the foothills of the Balkan hinterland in Bulgaria, and 6 months in India... but in some strange twist of fate i have just done the unthinkable..and whilst visiting fam and friends in NZ, drove past a dilapitated old tavern , fell in love with it..and bought it!
Now i have a quite mammoth task ahead of me working on restoring this old iconic building back to her former glory, but it is a job that is giving me great joy, and appreciation as well from the local community, who are very happy to see the place being loved again.
It is a all timber building over 100 years old, and was built with lovely native NZ timbers throughout.
Time has started to take its toll on the old girl, but her "bones" are good and the potential is enormous.
Yes, the tavern is a beautiful, (and big) restoration project that I have taken on. You will see and feel the appreciation that the locals have... more inside

We are looking for helpers from 26-2-2018. We live on a fantastic beach front lifestyle block and we need general help with property maintenance; gardening, fence repairs, painting, weeding, firewood etc.
In exchange for 5 hours of work a day and good company, we offer food and accommodation on one of the most stunning parts of the coast.
Because this is a rural property there is no public transport close by, so you'll need to have a car to stay with us.
The first three days of your stay will be a trial period to see if we're a good match and will have a fun time together.

We live on a block between the Wairarapa towns of Greytown and Carterton with sheep, a few cattle, pigs, chickens and 2 lovely Labrador dogs, Hazel and Lotta. We are about an hour from Wellington by car.
Our four boys are aged between 7 and 18 and keep us super busy-the boys love playing football and cricket!
Accommodation-brand new late 2015- fully self contained cottage, ideal for a couple. Best to have your own car, but happy to pick up etc from train or bus. We're not too far from the river for swimming in Summer; Tararua ranges for beautiful walks, and shops are a 5 minute drive away. We now have a swimming pool.
So we'd like some help with the gardens(weeding /watering vegetable and flower gardens), orchard, and feeding animals. We'll be tree planting in Autumn. We've got some painting to finish on the shed to do as well. Always something to do. We'd love to welcome you to our little corner of the beautiful Wairarapa.

we are booked Mid Feb 2018. Some painting available at this time. Plus other farm jobs.
We only have one or a couple at any one time, so you are valued as helpers, not just people to get a job done. Variety of farm, house and garden work available at this time. Looking for non smoking helpers, preferably couples. Plenty of farm work/ stock work. Shearing drenching, weighing sheep and cattle. All that is required is enthusiasm and a desire to experience a working farm. This is not a lifestyle block. Please view our references and email us if interested. Pick up from bus in Dannevirke if needed. We are here for a good time but getting the jobs done is important. So a sense of humour and commitment is needed.Sorry, no vegetarians.
Also we have no cell phone reception, but we do have Wifi at the main house.

We are a 350ha sheep and beef farm located near to the town of Dannevirke in the Hawkes Bay region of the North Island.... more inside

We need someone from March 1st. We have someone for all of February.

My partner and I live in Masterton 1.5 hours away from Wellington. Or you can catch the train from Wellington cental on the MET LINK train to the Wairarapa will take close to 2 hours.

I enjoy a quick workout most mornings if you wanted to join in with me I have spare workout mat. I understand not everyone is into this but the few girls who have stayed with us have enjoyed getting some healthy lifestyle back into their traveling.

We have both traveled and lived with other families so we know what it's like being in someone else's home far away. We also know what it's like when you just need a break from hostels and all the other travellers and a place to collect your thoughts and make your next travel plans. I used to find hostels felt so dirty and public and hard to keep your belongings safe and make your next travel plans. We hope our home can be a nice experience for you for you to see some of the a... more inside
