Update: 18/09 our first ever HelpX visitors have just left and it was an amazing experience. We look forward to seeing who will come stay with us next :)

We are a family with 3 young kids and live on a 1 acre property in semi-rural North/West Auckland. We are mostly vegetarian and try to maintain a reasonable vege garden & fruit trees. With a young family, our time for gardening is limited so if you join us, we would love some help around the section preparing for spring & summer planting. Mostly light-medium work however a good level of fitness is important. We would like to invite someone into our home to share our beautiful area and our crazy family for a mutually beneficial experience. Will be great to show our children different cultures, languages, food to inspire a love for travel. As we have a young family, it is important that our visitors speak good english so our children can communicate and learn from you and vice-versa. We love our home, our family & food. Thanks... more inside

We have moved our operations to Sandspit on 20 November 2015 - under the new badge of Sandspit Lodge, a smaller property than Coatesville, but with three/four B&B rooms available within the main house. This 1 1/2 acre section contains 40 productive J5 and Koroneiki olive trees, some Grosso French lavender and Pacific Blue English lavender as well as a lovely 3-tier orchard and loads of citrus trees.

The views over the Sandspit Harbour are simply stunning!

We are seeking one or two Helpers to assist with the B&B activities and gardening over the winter season which is proving to be very busy.

We are seeking the help of strong young Help-Xers now! Prefer someone who knows how to iron sheets!

Please be aware that there smokers in our household, so if you have a strong aversion to smoking, please do not apply!

We look forward to hearing from you.

We are now looking for helpers for 28th November to 23rd December :-)

We are a small boutique Christmas Tree farm, located in South Head, about 25 minutes from Helensville.

We sell around 2000 Christmas tree per year and require a helper to start during the last 2 weeks in November, or first day of December.

The work will involve helping to tidy up the trees (last 2 weeks of November) and then once ready (beginning 1st of December) I will cut down the trees ready for the helper to stack trees for loading them into the truck for distribution.

The work tends to be busy in the morning, with some further activity later in the day, providing opportunity to see what the local area has to offer

The farm itself is based on just over 10 hectares and has viewed of the Kiapara, with easy access to the local lagoon, regional parks, offering great fishing, walking and enjoyment of the local scenery.

We have chickens, cattle, and sheep, and we are surrounded by the local Deer f... more inside

Next available - middle to end October.

You will be expected to be a self-starter, very responsible and have great initiative.

Enthusiasm to learn and to be self-motivated is a must for us. The ability to prepare food and cook would be an advantage.

Would prefer someone with knowledge of birds and aviaries or a strong willingness and enthusiasm to learn. Not being scared of large parrots would also help.

Interest in goats and hedgehogs would be a major advantage. We breed angora goats and care for rescued hedgehogs.

We have a lifestyle block in North Auckland, 5 mins from main highway north, about 30 mins from central city.
Currently, we need someone that knows, or has the ability to learn fast, how to care for aviary and hand raised birds. You will need to be confident around them and be diligent and caring regarding their needs.

We have one double bedroom available so would suit either a couple or a single person. The bathroom is shared, so being clean and ... more inside

Close to Auckland, we're great for the beginning or end of your journey.

Cozy caravan available, suitable for one or two people, to stay on beautiful Ti Point in exchange for 4 hours work per day (6 days/week) of gardening, landscaping, and light household maintenance/cleaning. We provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea and coffee.

We can help with transport to and from Warkworth.

We are a smoke-free family, no smoking at all, of any kind. If you smoke anything, please do not apply. We do drink and allow alcohol. We are omnivores, though we are supportive of and will accommodate vegetarian and vegan diets.

Meals are an informal affair, with everyone helping themselves to whatever is on hand. We are so busy, we appreciate any help with menu planning and meal preparation. We will provide "fixins" for lunches, which you will prepare yourselves.

Having your own vehicle is a definite plus, as we're in a remote area. If you don't have your own wheels, be prepared to ... more inside
