***We are currently looking for helpers who have skills in trade, building, boat building, painting etc.. ***

***We do not have any positions for general woofers during June/July***

We are located in Havelock Marlborough between Blenheim and Nelson in the South Island.
Our Backpackers is a historic building and was once a school attended by Sir Ernest Rutherford. Ernest is known as ‘the father of nuclear physics’ you may also recognize his face from the New Zealand $100-dollar bill!
The Rutherford boasts a spacious and a relaxed family environment, fully equipped kitchen and free WIFI. We have a cozy fire for the cold winter months and a garden and BBQ area for the hot summer months.

Havelock is considered the gateway to the beautiful Marlborough Sounds and with it offers so many beautiful and adventurous avenues to explore. Sea kayaking, scenic tours, walks & cruises, fishing, and water-taxies are just some of the activities available unique to Havelock. Havelock is ... more inside

I have a lovely, large and comfortable home with two cats and a worm farm.

I have a large urban section with many trees, fruit trees, flowers, other plants and grass areas. So there's a lot of pruning, weeding, mowing and general upkeep.

I keep everything as organic as I can.

Gardening in Waikawa, Picton and explore the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.

We are a couple with cat and dog who moved to Waikawa, Marlborough Sounds in 2015. We have a 36 foot launch and love to get away to explore the Marlborough Sounds.

The Marlborough Sounds in summer is warm and in winter is lovely, no wind and generally perfect days. Come and explore the Marlborough Sounds with free accommodation (your own room and separate bathroom) and food. We are a few minutes walk from Waikawa Bay and have a bike for your use. We can sometimes arrange sailing, racing and boating if you are interested.

We are planting natives in an area in Waikawa and need help doing this. The work involved is weeding, cutting back and planting natives. Our preferred length of stay is a week with 4 hours work per day, 5 days per week. House work may be an option if its raining hard.

While my husband is out on the water many days a week, I love to garden, cook and share recipes. I'm keen on ... more inside

We are a family of six with three children still at home. Our children are homeschooled and together we manage the sheep and beef farm that we live on. The farm is very isolated on a island, it is very beautiful and wild. We like help with gardening and general farmwork. There is opportunity for fishing, hunting deer and pigs, kayaking and bushwalking. We like to meet people from all around the world. You would need to get on well with children and large dogs and be happy away from technology for the duration of your stay. We are a 3/4 hour four wheel drive trip, 20 minute boat ride and then a 2 and a half hour drive to either Nelson or Blenheim so if you come here you need to bring all necessary items needed for the duration of your stay as you would not be able to shop until you leave. Because of the isolation and the cost of getting here we generally like people to stay between three to six weeks.

Hi there! We have a small modern house 70 metres from the beach in Anakiwa and 30 mins by road from Picton. There are kayaks here, excellent bush walks and a beautiful relaxed seaside environment.

Our family regularly hosts young volunteers (wwoofers/helpers) from our international visitors. You are treated like a member of our family, you live within our private household, share your background and experience our daily life in New Zealand.

As with family members, there are no formal contracts or payment, your input is fully voluntary and you are free to depart at any time. Volunteers normally help out for 3 hrs per day with the afternoons/evenings free to relax.

Tasks are typically gardening, house cleaning, laundry, helping with meals (vegetarians welcome, but sorry we are not vegetarian!) and generally assisting around the property with misc tasks that suit your talents.

You will get involved in our daily family life, boat trips, shopping trips, maybe some baking... more inside
