Would you like to stay in Paradise from the beginning of June? I can help you with that! This is a country bed and breakfast situated 5 km to the north of Kaikoura. I am looking for someone who will be able to help around the garden and house and maybe do some cooking for me. I appreciate it if the helper has initiative and is able to see jobs which could be done and get on with them. If you would be able to house-sit and look after my animals while I went away that would be a real bonus, so I need someone who is responsible and capable of doing this.

Is there anyone who would like to come and help for a while? I would particularly like someone who could stay for at least two weeks at a time. The work is not difficult and there is plenty of time for you to do your own adventuring. It would be helpful if people have their own transport as the property is out of town, although I am able to pick people up from town if necessary.

In the winter time, I would like someone in the ... more inside

We run a busy farm made up of a vineyard, with livestock including red deer, cattle, sheep, goats, chickens and currently a few osterichs. Also one retired horse. We are only 15 minutes by car to the town of Blenheim (pop 30,000).

We can pick you up/drop off in Blenheim.

There are many jobs available from fencing, pulling down old fences, painting, firewood, gardening, basic retaining wall and general tidy up of the farm. - tell us what your skills are we might find something that suits..We would never expect anyone to do any jobs they don't feel comfortable doing.

We would appreciate around 4 hours work in exchange for meals and accommodation in Farm Homestead.

We have 3 generations living on the farm including to active pre-schoolers.

It is difficult to get here so phone or email first for clear directions. The only regular transport is the mail boat which comes here from Havelock once a week on Fridays, apart from that you have to organise private transport.

If you have your own car you can drive here from Rai Valley on the French Pass road.

We are a busy, loving, home educating family in a remote area of the Outer Pelorus Sounds. We have 10 children from 10 years to 33 years. The three youngest still live at home. The two eldest sons and their partners live & work on the property. We are Christians and enjoy meeting people of other cultures to further our children's, and our own education. We take great pleasure in be able to share our small corner of paradise with others.

We prefer non-smokers and for no alcohol to be brought in. We have approx 1000 sheep, 100 cattle, and several mussel farms. The land is very steep so a certain amount of fitness is required. We run 3 homesteads and tourist accomm... more inside

I am not looking for any Helpxers until the end of May, at which time, apart from the regular daily activities, I will be needing assistance with 'stripping' grape vines (which is the removing of the unwanted canes from the trellis after I have made the main pruning cuts).

HELPXER ATTRIBUTES: I am looking for friendly, motivated, hard working, communicative people who have a positive attitude and are willing to give things a go. As the majority of the Helpex jobs are outside, you will need a reasonable level of strength and physical fitness. You must also be able to willingly take instructions/directions from a woman.

THE FARM: a small mixed farm with a few; Wiltshire sheep, Berkshire pigs, a Jersey house cow, hens, two horses, a dog & a cat. I have a large vegetable garden and a young fruit-tree orchard.

JOBS: Daily - feeding the pigs & checking on the assorted animals. Regular jobs include gardening (mainly weeding veges), picking up horse poo, household chores, fencing... more inside
