Organic Status: Vegetable garden and fruit trees
We are 2km from Richmond shopping town, with sea, mountain and farmland views. 12 chickens, 50 sheep, 4 aviary birds, 2 ostrich and a friendly well trained dog. We work outside of the farm so there is always work to be done, the vegetable and flower gardens are quite large and forever need weeding. There are just the two of us and we are non smokers, meat eaters and love a beer and a laugh, willing to eat vegetarian if you cook it. In exchange for 4 hours work AND HELP with either preparing meals or washing up at meal times. You will be in our home, your room has a King size bed, you have free Internet access, and all meals. Not necessary to work each day, can have a day off and work 8hrs the following day. Prefer you to stay 7 days. As we are in our late 40's & 50's we would like our helpers to be over the age of 25,thanks

Hi!
We live 40 minutes out of Nelson on our land in Upper Moutere, while we begin to plan our garden and build our home.
We would love some enthusiastic helpers to come and stay; and in exchange help on our land here in the country-mainly gardening, and helping on the building site and a range of other projects that mainly happen outside!!
It would probably suit someone- or a couple- who did have their own transport as we are a 20 minute drive from the nearest town Motueka.If you are interested in staying a few days, we are an easy stop off point for anyone travelling to Golden Bay, or the West Coast and we are also close to many vineyards and the Abel Tasman National Park is only a 35 minute drive away; so if this sounds like you drop us an email, happy travels! Our lifestyle farm is situated in the beautiful Motueka Valley. We are an English born couple with two kiwi born kids age 7 and 10.
We've been in NZ for 15 years and moved to Motueka 5 years ago.
We have a large organic veggie garden.
We keep chooks, geese, cows, lambs and pigs.
We make our own sausages, bacon etc and our goal is to become self sufficient in meat and veges.
We have a caravan to accomodate helpers and you will not go hungry as we love food... foodies very welcome!(sorry, no vegetarians or fussy eaters)
We are ready to have helpers stay from 1st September.
We need two helpers, either a couple or two travelling companions. Work will include digging, clearing gorse,helping with animals, planting and tending veggie garden.
We ran a backpackers in Queenstown 10 years ago and love meeting international travellers. (We met backpacking in Australia 18 years ago!)

We have at the farm Kms. of walking/running tracks, river swimming, bicycles, massage exchange, yoga,etc. Our farm is in the country, private and very beautiful. We have a 1/4 acre section close to Nelson City up the Brook Valley. We are looking for a couple for up to a week at a time to help with seasonal garden work. We have a variety of heritage fruit trees including figs, plums, apples and feijoas. Also an organic vegetable garden growing seasonal produce. Work duties could include: garden maintenance, planting, weeding, pruning, preserving fruit. Also cooking and house cleaning. Come & join the crew at our family run hostel in central Nelson. We have some Exchange Workers leaving in the next week so have some spaces.
We are five minutes walk from town. The atmosphere here is very friendly, warm (log fire and heaters in all the rooms) and relaxed. Good music, lots of books and magazines, games and a guitar.
Work is for up to 3 hours a day with one day off a week. In return you get free accommodation, free breakfast and every night we serve up hot chocolate pudding and ice cream. Also free use of washing machine.
Work may be helping to clean the hostel, gardening, painting, maintenance, helping to look after our kids ..... there's always lots to do depending on your strenths & interests.

* In Sept an Oct Craig is looking for someone to help him break in one of his horses using natural and gentle methods and would prefer someone who is familiar with these techniques or someone who has enough horse experience to assist.*Also we just need help with odd jobs and gardening or what ever skills we can use of yours
Upper Moutere is a small village with a Pub, local Store,School and Garage, about 30 minutes drive from Nelson and 15 mins to either Richmond or Motueka so it would be best if you have your own transport. Mt Arthur is nearby and is great for tramping. Beaches are a 10 minute drive, a bit further to the legendary Able Tasman.
Accomodation is a old but cosy caravan at the bottom of our garden so you would have your privacy - bathroom and laundry facilities are in the house. We both work, Craig with horses, doing natural hoof care and breaking horses using gentle horsemanship techniques. Tanya at the local Store. Ella our daughter goes to the local school...

we are at present looking for only one worker at a time and we are always looking for help on our wonderful farm in Murcheson we are hour and a half from nelson great rafting kayaking area.Come learn to milk the goats, and our house cow annie. We have many wonderful animals. sammy the cockatoo our donkey, kunekune pig goats sheep and mant more and we could do with some help!!!
so if you love animals and have common sense we would be interested. you will just love the native bush and the bird life work is not hard and if you like relaxing reading a book or hunting fishing and hiking this is the place for you you will be blown away by the amazing native bush on the property there is plenty of spare time and we feed you well. ths is a very safe place to stay if yu like the outdoors
