Kia ora. We always need keen gardeners for our extensive permaculture garden and helping in our cafe. All sorts of creative opportunities We are hard working and fun loving and are looking for similar. You have your own seperate sleeping accommodation. Someone with playground building experience would be perfect but also looking for help with eco buiding project, so practical hands would be good. Close to the beach and enroute to the Able Tasman. We appreciate at least 3 days notice before we have helpers to stay. Kind regards, Steve.

Do you enjoy a place with no television, but with two friendly people, an awfully affectionate cat who dribbles, and a good mix of things to do: looking after, garden, house and each other, making music, preserving fruit, generally enjoying life?
Our place is in walking distance of the city centre, but still quiet and private.
We have had so much fun with some of you, and love HelpXers who enjoy what we are doing.
There are some of Nelson's best walks and mountain bike tracks right around the house.
We can talk to you in English, French or German. Prefer non-smokers, sorry.
Do you think it would be a fair deal to help us for about two hours a day in return for accommodation?
Give us a call and let's talk!

2.5 hectare property with homestay and motel units close to beach and Abel Tasman National Park. Work is varied and includes servicing accommodation units, gardening and any other jobs associated with an accommodation complex. I offer accommodation and meals in exchange for around 16 hours help per week. Plenty of free time to explore and enjoy the wonders of the Abel Tasman National Park. Take a look at my website for more information. Internet access available, however because of the monthly limit, downloading material or spending excessive time on facebook, twitter, utube etc is discouraged.

Do you want to go somewhere different??? A little off the beaten track... Cable Bay is Nelson's Best Kept Secret. We are tucked away in our own coastal paradise. It's tranquil and picturesque. Yet only 20 minutes from Nelson City. We would love to have some more Helpx to do general jobs on the property- weeding, clearing, pruning, digging and inside painting. Come and stay in your own double room with magnificent coastal and farm views. (Shared facilities) If you enjoy kayaking, swimming, walks, fishing, exploring then this hidden paradise is for you. It's a beautiful wilderness spot. Steve and I (Carol) are after couples who are skilled and experienced in home gardening, home maintenance and odd jobs and are able to cope with outside work. Building/carpentry experience, Exterior/ Interior painting experience would be welcomed. We do expect people to work hard and independently and we reward well for it. For every night stayed we would like dedicated work of 5 hours in retu...

Come & join the crew at our homely hostel in central Nelson. We have some Exchange Workers leaving in the next week so have some spaces.
We are a 5 to 10 minutes walk from town. The atmosphere here is very friendly, warm (log fire and heaters in all the rooms) and relaxed. Good music, lots of books and magazines, games and a guitar.
Work is for up to 3 hours a day with one day off a week. We like you to stay for a minimum of 3 weeks. In return you get free accommodation, free breakfast (may-nov) and every night we serve up hot chocolate pudding and ice cream all year around. Also free use of washing machine and free unlimited wifi.
Work will be mainly helping to clean the hostel, but might also be gardening, painting, maintenance, helping to look after our kids ..... there's always lots to do depending on your strenths & interests.
Email us - we look forward to hearing from you.

Commercial apple orchard with large home and garden. Quiet and private, we are sure you will enjoy the peace. Relax after your day beside the pool,(after you have worked out in our gym!) Bikes are available - The Great Taste Cycle Trail goes right past our gate, and the local tennis court is just 200m away. We are located 5km from Richmond township, 7km from beaches, and a 20 minute drive to beautiful Nelson. We are looking for people to assist us with general orchard work, winter and spring, but we encourage backpackers and homestays as well. We love art and music and all outdoor pursuits, and have met many wonderful folk from all over the world who have experienced life on an orchard with us. We love our garden, but as it is quite large, we appreciate all the help we can get in it! Our apple harvest begins around February 28 for a period of approximately 3 weeks, workers always welcome if you are able to commit to that length of time, and winter pruning begins around June, s...

We are a large busy family living in the beautiful coastal village of Mapua. We have 5 children still at home, aged between 11 and 3yrs and a large house and property and both Grant and I work so we would really appreciate some help! We have a spare room with a double bed so can take one or two people. We need someone who is comfortable with looking after children and can do some housework and gardening in exchange for food and accommodation. They must have a full drivers licence and will need to be able to drive our van to drop children at school and pick them up again. I need someone here for a couple of hours in the morning and then after school so you will have most of your day free to explore our beautiful region. We have bikes and kayaks available for you to use. We would prefer long term but are flexible at this stage.

Hi we are looking for child care/house work for one week. Or a couple of people as we have lots of outdoor work as well. Come and enjoy our rural lifestyle. We are 20 mins from Motueka, 30 mins to Richmond, 40 mins to Able Tasman National Park. A car would be an advantage as we are 20mins drive from nearest town.

Just started with HelpX. Mainly had wwoofers so far. Joya is an Organic B&B annex residential (Tomatis based) Listening centre for auditory brain stimulation to improve how we learn, live & listen. No complex jobs, mainly help with the B&B and maintenance of villa and gardens. You'd work independently, so some know-how required especially with regards to the gardens. Work hours: 4 to 5 hrs daily, preferably in the morning. You are welcome to attend lectures/workshops. Vegetarian/vegan/raw and some Indian dishes. We live in a nice and quiet area of Nelson (town),close to the walkways, parks as well as the restaurants and cafes. Prefer to be contacted by email rather than phone.

We live on a small farm 30 minutes from Nelson close to Brighwater and Wakefield. We have a few sheep, hens, bees, fruit trees and a large garden. We are as organic as possible but not certified. Over the last few years we have had a large number of Woofers and travellers stay with us. Our preference is for a well motivated couple who are able to undertake 4 hours work /day for up to 1 week doing jobs such as gardening, painting, fencing, building, helping with the animals and general maintenance. Separate accommodation, bicycles and food provided.
