a wilderness lifestyle block. mostly in bush or scrub.
we have 4 sheep ,4 chooks, lots of rabbits in a large run and 1 dogs.
this was a family home but now there are just 2 old people in their late fifties.
the property was brought in the late 70s.
there are several sheds and a self contained house truck.
we are on the edge of a large estuary where we kayak and catch fish.
this is a remote location and we can pick up people but it would suit people with a car best as it is an interesting area to drive around.

We are seeking helpers with building & construction skill, as we are doing several building and landscape projects.(woodshed, pole shed extension, conservatory, tool shed..) minimum 2 week stays prefered. Accommodation is in your own room in our home, set in a nature lover's garden, a bird watcher paradise. quiet & peaceful. Geese in the orchard, calves in the pastures. wildlife.
We live 40km from Takaka, near the coastal village of Pakawau: 300 meters to the beach or estuary. Pakawau is a popular holiday destination; close to Kahurangi National Park, Farewell Spit & Wharariki Beach, Westhaven Inlet, Kaihoka Lakes, and the Heaphy Track....
We expect visitors to help 4 hours in the mornings, then have the rest of the day to enjoy at their leisure, For your use we have:Kayaks, bikes, fishing rods.
work 5-6 days, get off 1-2 days.
Drug free & smoke free property.

Currently looking for a longer term helper from mid june , but all inquiries welcomed...
We are 6.5km from the Takaka township and 500mts from Pohara beach, cafes, bars and a small shop. Our home is warm, friendly and has a rural outlook.
We are both very relaxed, tidy men so your tasks are varied and easy. Some meals to prep , bit of clean and tidy, etc. Feed the chooks, some gardening, all easy stuff. We ask for 3 hrs per day.
We are offering you your own warm room, all meals, use of a car(as long as you have a valid licence), mountain bikes, fishing rods, with boat trips(we spend a lot of time on our boat so a love of the water will be handy)and limited Internet provided. Every 2nd weekend and half school holidays off, so lots of time to explore the area.
My son is 13yrs old and a very active young man, he enjoys down hill mountain biking, rugby, fishing and loves music(and is learning how to play guitar)

I have a little lifestyle block just out of Takaka/Golden Bay right at the beach. I have many different projects going. The work you might be doing is organic gardening, tree care, landscaping, basic building and so on. I have no kids, but some animals. No cellphone coverage at house.
We live on a sheep and beef farm. This farm is located within walking distance from Wharariki beach. This would suit someone who likes the rural setting (no cellphone coverage...) so beautiful and loads of amazing walks around the farm. We go surfcasting (fishing) quite often if you are keen!
We would love to have someone or maybe a couple to come stay with us and help us out. As we live about 50 minutes away from a reasonable sized town we would prefer you had your own vechile. Because town is that far away I suggest you stock up on your essential items at Fresh choice Takaka. Beer, wine and chocolate and other food is the best price around. We are a happy couple living on the forest margin, growing vegetables and basket willow. We invite travellers to share our little slice of paradise in exchange for help maintaining our garden and basket willow plantation. We eat mostly organic food and while we eat some meat we can accommodate vegetarians The famous Mussel Inn is just down the road and we are 5 mins drive from the beach.
Work usually includes weeding and maintenance of our willow plantation and domestic gardening and property maintenance. Our preference is usually short stays with the option of extending. In return we offer comfortable caravan accommodation, a hot shower and good food. We both work away from the property sometimes so we would like our helpers to work unsupervised. For a day job, Pete is a builder and a basket maker and Kris works in mental health.

BEACH FRONTAGE ACCOMMODATION!!!
Semi selfcontained accommodation, small kitchen, fridge, gas cooker.
We are 5 km from Takaka township in beautifull golden bay at seaside.
We, my husband and I,work mostly from home and need help with our garden and maintenance in and outside of the property and sometimes some animal care, feeding horses dog and cat.
For each night stay we ask two hours work. We also have
bikes/ canoes, wireless for that we ask a little more commitment.
We are happy to provide a meal on arrival but during your stay we would prefer that you provide your own meals, occasional dinner shared.
You may wish to work longer and have the next day off and there maybe a vehickle to use if diesel and diesel mileage is topped up.

Modern house across the street from the beach.
This is the most awesome place I have ever lived in my life! I hope you will agree. Please be ready to do household chores as I am a single parent of three and need help. I am an outgoing person with a strong personality and my 7yr old, and twin 3yr olds follow suit. I have a home business fixing computers but my favorite job in the world is caring for my children. I'll be doing that while you keep the house going. I go to town almost every day if you want a ride. I'm thinking two hours a day four days a week should cover the job. PS: We eat really well and I love to cook. I am very safety conscious and will want lots of references and assurances that you are OK around children. No men please.

We are a family Richard-Dad Natasha Mum Arjuna (boy born 2006) Malika (girl born 2009). We live in a community in our own beautiful earth house.
We love yoga, meditation, being in nature, crafts and playing music-guitar, drums and harmonium.
There are around 30 adults and 9 children in the community. We have around 4 Community wwoofers/helpers most of the year who stay in our community house. Our community hosts many events. See our website for more info.
You would stay in our house or in a housetruck, or own accommodation-van etc.
We would like help with fruit preserving, gardening, childcare, wood gathering,cooking and housework and general help around our house and the community.
In your spare time there is plenty to do with the Abel Tasman National Park next door which has lovely beaches and forests.
We are 30min drive to Takaka and can arrange transport for you.
