Our home has been used as a home stay since 2001 We are a semi-retired couple and try to run our farm as self-sufficiently as possible. We also have a reasonably big garden which helps keep us busy.
Your accomodation will be the same as our Homestay guests for a half days work on the farm, garden or house.
We run sheep and Belted Galloway cattle and have two farm dogs and numerous hens & Rooster also one Cat
We are near to Lake Mahinapua and the West Coast Treetop Walk, we are close to the soon to be completed Cycle Trail. There are many different activities which are nearby and Hokitika and Ross are about 12 kms from our home.

280 cow family run dairy farm, right on the beach at Cape Foulwind, near Westport.
We offer a family environment with opportunities for farm work, housework, gardening and cooking. There is a wide variety of work available. Working with the animals of course, weed control, plus fencing work, painting, carpentry and lots of different small tasks to complete. If outdoor work doesn't appeal, help in the house with cooking and cleaning is always appreciated, and the small, developing garden offers a third alternative. We try to fit the work to each helper's skills and interests, and keep things varied and interesting.

We have 3 growing children and are busy people, running the business and helping out with school and sport for the children.

Looking for helpers who can fit in as part of the family. 4hrs work a day in return for accommodation and food. Minimum one week stay unless by prior arrangement. Flexible as to work hours each day and tasks performed. We live a few minutes ... more inside

A very small farm where we know our cows individually. One playful dog, three cats and lots of poultry.
Cows are on holiday and so are we, which means that we do all sorts of lifestyle projects and maintenance jobs. We also sleep in later than normal.

The work for helpers would be water-blasting, painting, grubbing and pruning. Ability to operate a chain saw, tractor and quad would be a useful start.
This is best done with two people so therefore it is best if our helpers are a couple. Although a single person has been great too depending on their attitude.
Rain or shine. 5 hours a day. Gumboots, gloves and rain coats provided.
No mobile signal but limited internet access available. Separate small sleep out with a double bed only. All meals provided.
Located in a peaceful valley between Hokitika and Franz/Fox.
We live a quiet happy life.
Everything in moderation. BYO alcohol.

We will reply to all approaches and expect the same.
AND if after saying that you are going ... more inside
