My partner and I live on a beautiful 40 hectare property (most of which is native forest) which needs ongoing maintenance including maintaining tracks, and splitting and stacking firewood. We have sheep, and occasionally need help with them.
Our preference is someone who has been raised in the countryside, is strong, and capable with a chainsaw. An international drivers licence would be a bonus. We like people who work hard, and are capable of doing so without supervision. At the moment we are clearing trees from a track through our forest.

We do not usually need help with housework. Also our children are grown up, and not living at home

In return for 4 hours work for every night you stay, we look after you well! Our food is good wholesome farm cooking. (Unfortunately we do not cater for vegetarian/vegan diets)

Please note we do not offer a single overnight stay. We want a person(s) who will stay for a minimum of 4 days

Because our climate here on the west coast c... more inside

Hello HelpXers!
We operate a small (18 bed) backpackers hostel in Murchison (Tasman district).

We are looking for someone to help manage & maintain the hostel. This will involve cleaning duties in the morning, with some reception/ meeting and greeting of guests during the evening.

It’s autumn now, and relatively quiet. A great time to enjoy the scenery, go for a walk or bike ride and then snuggle down in front of a wood fire.

Please get in touch if you’re interested and we can have a chat.

Many thanks,
Ali & Phil

I really love hosting HelpXers.
Jesters Nest is in development as a therapeutic retreat and making good progress thanks to helpers input.
Help is always needed in the garden areas, to weed, plant, mulch, tend the labyrinth and in the house..I love it if helpers can cook!!!.
Situated just south of the Oparara River in Karamea, the property is surrounded by farmland and is 5 minutes from the sea, close to the Fenian track. The Heaphy and Wangapeka Tracks begin/end closeby.
At present food and in-house accomodation offered in return for labour and contribution to this life-enhancing project. The property is smoke and drug-free.
Prefer more mature (25+) helpers with good life and practical skills who can cook. Couples are great.
Possibility for YOUNGER HELPERS if you can convince me you'll be good value!!

If this does not sound like it suits you.. I may be able to put you in touch with other people in the area.

Still need a person who is goo... more inside

Do you love the outdoors?
We are a small family in Fox Glacier.
We are looking for person or persons to give us a hand with general farm duties. This is a sheep and beef farm so there is always something needing to be done.
Accommodation is a queen room in our family home with all meals, laundry service and unlimited Wi-fi provided in return we ask for a minimum 4 hour day helping us with our day to day farm duties.
We have a son Peter who is 16 and mainly at boarding school other than during the holidays, so you will not get babysitting duty. We do have a house cat "Special" and a house dog "MaGoogin" and two working dogs Sam and Basil and a working puppy Spot. We have five naughty chickens and a whole lot of baby chicks running around. Willow has a young pet goat Nicole who likes belly rubs.
So if this sounds like you drop us an email or a txt and when we are in coverage we will get back to you ASAP.

Enjoy the natural beauty of the West Coast while you help us out in our 24 unit motel. Fox Glacier is a beautiful area, with mountains, temperate rain forest and our stunning Lake Matheson, as well as the glacier, which is just 5km from our friendly little town.
During the quiet winter months we need a few hours help each day with the housekeeping work. In return we'll supply you with accommodation and wifi.
The work usually starts in the morning at 9am, so by afternoon you are free to explore the area.
We prefer helpers who can stay for at least a week, but are happy to discuss this.
We are passionate about our country and love sharing it with travellers - we've roamed the country for 6 years in our motorhome so can suggest lots of lovely places for you to visit.

Hello!

I am in the middle stages of multiple sclerosis. I just need help taking care of the garden and keeping the house tidy in exchange for accommodation and food. You will have your own room (depending on how many other people will be here), running water, a hot shower, warm living room, and fresh veggies to cook with. My property is located in the beautiful Springs Junction with lots of tracks to walk through around, and it's very easy to hitch out if needed because it is close to the main highway.

I have a car but am unable to drive it now, so it would be good if you had a valid drivers license or some sort of car.I cannot pick you up from Springs Junction and it is a 15 km walk to get here, very isolated. So a car is vital to get here:-)
