We live on a 20 acre lifestyle block, with a few sheep and cattle, three cats, a guitar, piano and a large organic vege garden. We had 5 children, but they are mostly grown and only one (16) is still at home and being homeschooled. We have bicycles you can borrow to explore the neighbourhood or bike to the beach. We like meeting new people and we are happy to help you practice your English :) Accommodation is a comfortable sleepout, using the bathroom inside and sharing meals with our family. The hot spa outside is marvelous on wintry evenings.

Looking for help now for a week or two. There is garden work to be done when the weather is fine, and feeding hay to the cows.Inside dishwashing is always appreciated,or vacuuming, and if you can cook that is even better. If you are technically savvy I have some audio cassettes I'd like transferred to digital sometime.

We are a Christian family with 5 children ranging in age from 3 to 15. We also have a friendly kitten. We came to New Zealand from South Africa almost 9 years ago with our first 2 children. Our second child is an African who we adopted when she was 4 weeks old. We live in Hawarden which is about an hour from Christchurch and about an hour from Hanmer Springs.

Work would include general house work and gardening.

You are welcome to travel with us to our families activities (church, ballet and St John). My 3 year old has epilepsy and autism so we travel into Christchurch once a week to see her therapists. You are welcome to join us for that morning in town too.

There is cell phone reception at our home and we do also have wifi.

**NO SMOKERS PLEASE**
We are happy to accommodate 1 female or 2 female friends or a married couple.

We are a family that have a 10 acre lifestyle block 35 minutes north of Christchurch. We endeavor to have a self sufficient lifestyle with lots of organic vege gardens, orchards, chooks, goats, 3 horses and working dogs etc.

Our property is located in peaceful private surroundings, only a 5 minute drive to the nearest township.

We have a small N.Z Native Tree Nursery, our plants are grown from locally sourced seed and are in various stages of growth that we are needing help with potting on.
We're also in need of help with some carpentry work in a wee rustic cottage we are restoring.

We are flexible with when you work and stop for breaks. If you wanted to do more hours one day and less the next that is o.k. We expect about 4-5 hours help a day depending on the work you are asked to do (less for more physical work, more for easier work etc) and in return we enjoy creating an enjoyable experience for our helpers.

Our 4 children ages 13, 12, 10 and 1 are keen horse riders a... more inside

We have two positions available on two different properties in Hawarden, approx an hours drive north of Christchurch. We are also 40 minutes drive from hammer springs.

We require a nanny for our three children for the up coming spring - mid July - end of September. We own a 1200 cow dairy farm. We would need you to do housework and cook/prepare meals. You will need a clean full drivers licence as our youngest daughter goes to preschool 3 days a week.

Kids ages are 9,7 and 4.

The 2nd position is on my mothers vineyard 12 kms from our farm. Jobs would include pruning vines, gardening and lawn mowing and general Handyman jobs.

These jobs would suit a couple. Accommodation is a lovely one bedroom flat located at the vineyard. Due to the location of our farm, we would advise you to have your own vehicle. We can provide one for work purposes only.

Please note, these are unpaid positions.

Thank you.

Nestled in the beautiful Southern Alps is the historic settlement of Cass (approx half way between Christchurch and Greymouth). I am offering private accommodation (separate from the house with own bathroom)in exchange for odd jobs - painting, gardening and lawn mowing.
I also have a horse drawn wagon seen in the photo's which is needing a keen horseperson to drive and keep working.
There is plenty to do in the area including fishing on many of the nearby high country lakes (1.6 km to Lake Sarah) day walks/ tramping in Arthurs Pass National Park and Craigieburn forest Park, skiing on one of the 5 local ski fields, four wheel driving, Scree jumping (down Sugar Loaf). A short drive to Cave stream scenic reserve (one of the south Islands best free activities) and Castle Hill natural rock climbing park (where scenes from Lord of the Rings and Narnia were filmed). Other nearby facilities are The Bealy Hotel (10mins) and Arthurs Pass 20mins. In exchange I would like four hours work... more inside

HORSE WORK AND ORCHARD WORK.

Hi!. We own a boutique horse breeding and feijoa farm.
Our family of five would like to invite you to stay with us at our sweet-as property at the gateway to Lake Sumner National Park.
We breed thoroughbred race horses and have a 300 tree feijoa orchard.
We are currently building a sleepout cabin with a double bed and a single bed, but until that's finished you can stay in your own room in the house with us.
We have a family holiday home (bach) in the mountains that you can use for free if you help at our home for a while.
We will make an effort to help you see some of the local area and meet some local people. However, we don't have a car for you to use. We will provide all of your food, but you might have to do some cooking yourself.
We are both well travelled and can speak German. Serena is a lecturer at the University of Canterbury and can pick up and drop off people in Christchurch. Tim is a teacher at the local school.
