4ha lifestyle block with 8yr old planting of natives and organic vege garden. You would need to be a non-smoker.
Vegetarian, bilingual household (german and english) comprising of 1 female adult, 4 horses, 2 dogs and 3 cats. 7km from Oxford township, 62 km from Christchurch. Close to scenic walking tracks (Mt. Oxford). Wonderful views and great riding country. In the past most helpers arrived and did not want to go anywhere for weeks.
Own transport needed if you want to get around - however regular lift into Christchurch and Rangiora possible.
I live a busy lifestyle and would like someone who would fit as part of our family of humans and animals. Due to currently working long hours on 2 days of the week you will need to be able to cope with lots of time on your own - doing your own cooking on those 3 days.
I prefer people who are motivated - with a positive, cheerful and relaxed attitude, able to work unsupervised, have initiative (ie picking up jobs when seeing they need t... more inside

We like some help with weeding, cleaning out tunnelhouse, trimming shelterbelt, etc etc.
We are a semi retired Dutch couple. We use natural pest control and don't use sprays in the tunnelhouses. Outside we grown organic veges for our small shop. We have chickens, goats and bees. Accommodation is a cozy sleepout with a double bed. we would like you to work 3 hours a day, and buy and prepare your own meals in sleepout, so you have free accommodation for the work what you do for us.

If you prefer accommodation only, we have a cheap backpackers accommodation (sleepout) that you can rent for $30 per person a night. Minimum of 2 nights stay. 7 day special only $250 for 2 people. For 1 person $190 per week.
Clean and tidy. The sleepout is a "stand alone" and comfortable, plus self contained. It is one room with a double bed, a dining table, DVD player, a benchtop with a sink, and pots and pans and cutlery, a double element cooking plate, a toaster, a fridge and a electric jug. ... more inside

We are a lifestyle block with small numbers of sheep and cattle, chickens for eggs and a sizable vegetable garden from which we are working towards the idea of self-sufficiency for produce and meat. Work in small scale stock management, gardening and tidying up the block/shelter belt trimmings in general. We would ultimately like to be running as close to organic principles as possible, but we are working towards this.

Small family - Art teacher and auto electrician who likes to build things and invent things. We have a pre-schooler, 2 dobermanns with a lot of energy and a cat who lives under the bed away from the dobermanns. We offer a double room with a queen size bed as accomodation and we are happy with short or longer term stays. Meals would be provided, though we don't cater to vegetarians (sorry! We eat what we produce).

Rangiora is approximately 10 minutes drive from us, Oxford is 15 minutes drive from us. We could supply a workers vehicle to a licenced driver if ap... more inside

If you enjoy working with horses and an outdoor lifestyle we would like to hear from you.
My husband and I run a small horse and cattle farm, backing on to Forestry and walking tracks. 10klms from Rangiora.10 mins drive from beach.
Our horses are trained for and compete in Endurance Racing,so helpers must be experienced in riding horses in wide open spaces at speed.

Does exploring the surrounding countryside on horse back and travelling with horses appeal?

The help we require involves day to day care of horses and riding out plus some gardening and farm work.

Accommodation is a private self contained sleepout suitable for couples, your own vehicle is essential as we are out of town.

This is our busiest time of year so if you are keen we have plenty to keep you occupied and would love to hear from you.

We are fully booked through till August 2013.

We live and farm a High Country property where we farm Limousin cattle, Perendale sheep and have an extensive pine forest.. The property rises to 800 metres above sea level with spectacular views of the Canterbury plains. Our boundary is the beautiful Upper Selwyn River Gorge area.
We are a hardworking and busy family with 3 young adult children. We have plenty to do around the Spring and Summer months, at home and on the farm.

We are looking for hardworking, enthusiastic and fun people to help in the garden and home surrounds plus to assist in the day to day life of a working Canterbury farming property.

We will provide good "old fashioned Kiwi homecooked meals" with a bit of International cuisine as well as great hospitality. A small hut with a double bed and one sofa bed with basic amenities is provided. We are interested in meeting people from other cultures and expect you to feel comfortable being part of our family. We have both travelled and love sharing experiences... more inside

Hi, We now have 4 white female Alpacas, and are meant to be also grazing two pregnant ones for our relations soon, so that will be interesting. Our place is very nice with lot's of trees around it, and also on it. I hurt my shoulder badly over five Months ago, so need a hand more than ever now, as I can still not do much, but a bit more than I could. I have some painting jobs that I could do with some help with. Also clearing up trees we topped, ie, cutting them up for firewood, and carting the branches away to be burnt. I am also repairing an old shed which has a history. Would prefer a female if possible as there is some house hold duties that I could do with a hand with, as my wife works long hours. Also garden work as we have lot's of garden. The main reason I am wanting to be a host is that I enjoy meeting people from overseas. My place is only a half an hours drive from the Mountains and rivers are close by. It's about a half an hours drive to the edge of Christchurch. The... more inside

This property is 7.5 acres of coastal land with views over the sea... an authentic piece of paradise in Aotearoa. The sun and full moon come out of the sea straight out in front. There are some fallow deer, fruit trees, two ponds, and lots of native birds! I would like help mainly with gardening, weeding, mulching and tidying etc - about 4 hours of work per day in exchange for good accommodation & food. Located 1.5hrs drive north of Christchurch on the coast and one hour south of Kaikoura. The little rural town of Cheviot is 10 minutes drive from home. Gore Bay beach is just 500mt down the road - great surf or just relax at the beach. Your accommodation is in the warm top story or a neat little cottage/sleep-out in the garden will also be available soon. Up to a one week stay would be great. Two canoes, surfboard, mountain bike, snorkelling gear etc is available to use.
Host is very well travelled, bi-lingual, into art , reading and music.
