Hello, we have a 'boutique' dairy farm on the edge of Oxford, North Canterbury, where we sell fresh, real milk through our Village Milk vending machine. We milk around 20 cows year round and this has been a very popular addition to our farm. Our eldest daughter has enjoyed doing Help Exchanges overseas so we would love to give someone the same opportunity!

We have a few big jobs on at the moment that we would like some help with in preparation for winter, including altering a shed, wood splitting and stacking and clearing yard areas. We also have ongoing jobs such as feeding out, weed spraying, gardening, tidying and household chores so depending on the day there will be a lot of variety.

We would like one person aged 20 and over who has reasonable English and has had a little bit of experience on a farm already so they are ready to jump in to help with anything. Hours/days of work are flexible but we would expect around 4-5 hours a day, depending on the jobs and weather. Max... more inside

We live on a sheep and beef farm just out of Cheviot. We are about ten minutes drive from the coast (Gore Bay, a great surfing spot). We've got 2 lovely house dogs, 1 retired sheep dog, 2 horses, 2 donkeys, 4 kunekune pigs, a pet sheep and 4 cats. Then there are the 4500+ sheep and lambs and 3-400 cattle and calves on the farm.

There is work on the farm, and there is work looking after the animals at the house. We really need a couple or two friends to do a semi-house sit for us from middle of May through to end of June. Bryan will be here, but works long hours, so we need someone to feed and look after the animals, as well as prepare the meals and do a bit of washing and housekeeping. I (Jane) will be away for about a month.

There is lots of work to do with cutting up the fallen trees from the recent winds so if you can use a chainsaw that would be great. If not, there is branch tidying work . The garden also needs lots of attention. More than just weed pulling,... more inside

We also have a new puppy who needs cuddles and walks.

We live in sunny North Canterbury on a quarter acre with our two delightful children, Nathan (10yrs) and Ella (9yrs), chickens, tropical fish, cat and a new puppy. The beach is 2 minutes away over the sand dunes, 15 minutes walk to great cafe, 10 minutes cycle to the pub, 7 minutes car ride to local town (Amberley), 50 minutes drive to Christchurch.

We have a list of half completed projects a mile long. Can you help?

John is English and I dragged him back to NZ with me after we got married 14 years ago. We did some travelling in Europe and Africa and loved it. Meeting new people in new places was an important part of travelling for us. Having you to stay would be a great opportunity for our children and us to learn about the world and other cultures.

Mostly it's jobs in the garden, weeding, planting, tree chopping etc but also splitting wood, housework, watching the children while we get other jobs done, maybe some p... more inside

4ha lifestyle block with 8yr old planting of natives and organic vege garden. You would need to be a non-smoker.
Vegetarian, bilingual household (german and english) comprising of 1 female adult, 4 horses, 2 dogs and 3 cats. 7km from Oxford township, 62 km from Christchurch. Close to scenic walking tracks (Mt. Oxford). Wonderful views and great riding country. In the past most helpers arrived and did not want to go anywhere for weeks.
Own transport needed if you want to get around - however regular lift into Christchurch and Rangiora possible.
I live a busy lifestyle and would like someone who would fit as part of our family of humans and animals. Due to currently working long hours on 2 days of the week you will need to be able to cope with lots of time on your own - doing your own cooking on those days.
You would need to be female and possess maturity - don't contact if you haven't been long away from mum's caretaking. Can only cater for 1 person at a time.
