Our family runs a backpackers with accommodation in railway wagons we also farm sheep and grow some crops and have a shearing run. We breed train and compete horses with a focus on eventing .they have been out of work over winter as our rider is overseas until October. Starting to bring them back into light work in preparation for riders return as well as handling young stock . If you are experienced with horses we could have some riding work.
We can offer a variety of opportunities to experience the rural kiwi lifestyle.
Our backpackers is quiet at the moment so we are starting a good spring clean ahead of a busy season. We have gardening and renovations alongside general farm work. Skills in painting, building, gardening general cleaning would be great. We like visitors to feel at home and even better if they enjoy cooking!
We prefer longer term helpers min 2 weeks.

Our property is a 2 hectare lifestyle block with an extensive garden and a menagerie of animals - see website for more details.
I am an at-home Mum and my partner, Rudi, is an air traffic controller. We have 2 children - Josie (16 years old), whose main passion is horse riding, regularly competing in dressage competitions and showing. Our 18 year old son, Nic, has just started a Financial Engineering degree at University and is currently living on campus.
We occasionally have garden groups coming to visit and so the garden has become my place of work. As the garden is rather large, I'm needing some help with weeding, mulching, pruning and general upkeep of the property.
We are happy to provide meals and accommodation (we have a newish bedroom, with 2 single beds, and bathroom in our home) in exchange for gardening, cooking, painting and the odd household chore (in the event of wet weather). You would help yourself to lunch and breakfast most of the time and dinner is provide... more inside

We would love to have helpers from Now on ??
We are so lucky to live on a 10 acre life style block situated in North Canterbury . We have horses which are used primarily for dressage, show jumping and eventing. We also have a lovely property with a large easy care garden!
It would be great to have some help in the garden, general weeding and spraying, but mainly we need help exercising and caring for the horses. So we would love to hear from helpers that are really experienced horse people! Especially those that have riding experience in dressage, show jumping and or eventing!!
Our horses are competition horses and young horses, so this means that they are not "school horses" so we CAN NOT have helpers that are beginner riders or inexperienced riders!!
We are looking for help from August !!
We have 4 children, 2 are school age and 2 are finished with school and are studying away from home!
We are non smokers!! And would prefer helpers that are non smokers :-)
So for 4 hours o... more inside

If you enjoy working with horses and an outdoor lifestyle we would like to hear from you.
My husband and I run a small horse and cattle farm, backing on to Forestry and walking tracks. 10klms from Rangiora.10 mins drive from beach.
Our horses are trained for and compete in Endurance Racing,so helpers must be experienced in riding horses in wide open spaces at speed.

Does exploring the surrounding countryside on horse back and travelling with horses appeal?

The help we require involves day to day care of horses and riding out plus some gardening and farm work.

Accommodation is a private self contained sleepout suitable for couples, your own vehicle is essential as we are out of town.

This is our busiest time of year so if you are keen we have plenty to keep you occupied and would love to hear from you.

We are looking for international travellers who would like to experience a special part of the South Island. This is a sheep and beef property in the Canterbury Highcountry, 50km inland near the township of Methven. Beside farming we are operating a small conference and accommodation venue and in the winter this place is the base for a heliski operation. We enjoy having travellers and welcome always a helping hand. A modern self contained unit with all facilities and all meals of the day will be provided as an exchange. It would suit an outdoor person who enjoys walking, mountain biking. Pick up from Methven (1 hour drive) or Christchurch (2 hours) is possible.Beside English our household is able to communicate in German and "Schoolfrench". Have a look on our website.

Located on the coastal cliffs near the popular surf beach of Gore Bay the property is unique to the area. It has a variety of established fruit and nut trees, which include Walnut and Hazelnut trees, Apricot, Apple, Feijoa, Cherry, Fig, Plum and many more. Opportunities are also available to work on a larger sheep and cattle property. From painting to pruning I need help with a variety of different projects depending on the season. WIFI available. Look forward to hearing from you :) Cheers Andrew

Nestled in the beautiful Southern Alps is the historic settlement of Cass (approx half way between Christchurch and Greymouth). I am offering private accommodation (separate from the house with own bathroom)in exchange for odd jobs - painting, gardening and lawn mowing.
I also have a horse drawn wagon seen in the photo's which is needing a keen horseperson to drive and keep working.
There is plenty to do in the area including fishing on many of the nearby high country lakes (1.6 km to Lake Sarah) day walks/ tramping in Arthurs Pass National Park and Craigieburn forest Park, skiing on one of the 5 local ski fields, four wheel driving, Scree jumping (down Sugar Loaf). A short drive to Cave stream scenic reserve (one of the south Islands best free activities) and Castle Hill natural rock climbing park (where scenes from Lord of the Rings and Narnia were filmed). Other nearby facilities are The Bealy Hotel (10mins) and Arthurs Pass 20mins. In exchange I would like four hours work... more inside
