We are a busy Family of 5. Parents in 30s and 3 boys 7, 6, 3 years old. We live 10min out of Rangiora but go there a few times a week and 30 min from Christchurch.

My Husband is a shift worker and I work from home so it is always very busy. We are looking for a helper to do mainly housework, cooking and childcare but there are also never ending general chores around our property including lawn mowing, painting and gardening (the work is not hard just things we run out of time for). We also have cattle, sheep and a cat.
An extra pair of hands is always appreciated!!

In exchange for 3 hours honest work per day you will get a room in our house with a double bed and ensuite and 1 main meal per day (normally dinner) we would also expect you to help out with meals and cleaning up after meals. There is a large supermarket in Rangiora.

We also have limited Wifi.

Please keep in mind it is a little way out in the country so unless you have your own transport you will have to ... more inside

We are a Christian homeschooling family living in Balcairn, 5 minutes out of Amberley. We have a lifestyle block with sheep, goats, chickens, labrador dog and cats. Our family consists of Mum and Dad, four friendly and playful children aged 4, 7, 9 and 12 and an international homestay student.
The work we are looking for help with, is general farm work such as helping with fencing, helping my husband to build a footbridge over a creek, gardening, weeding and housework/cooking on rainy days. Accommodation will be in the sleepout (see photo), near the house. The sleepout has two single beds and a desk. Meals and bathroom will be in the house, sharing with the family. In return for 4 hours work a day, we will provide accommodation and three meals a day.
We are 5 minutes drive from Amberley. Amberley is a nice township near beach, river, wineries, it has a supermarket, medical centre, chemist, cafes, restaurants, library with free wifi, etc. From our home it is approx 10 minutes driv... more inside

Love being outside and have experience of working with horses? Love being busy and can work unsupervised? Looking for a lovely warm home (with spa pool) from towards the end of May for the winter (or for a minimum of at least 2 weeks please - longer is much preferred)...?

The property is primarily run as an equine care and agistment/livery business. Horse owners bring their horses here to be cared for whilst they are on holiday or recovering from injury (see our website for more detail).

Accommodation is provided in the on-site residence - a lovely warm, beautifully renovated, 5-bdrm & 2 bathroom villa with the shift-working owners. Full board is provided together with own bedroom, and use of WIFI, Sky TV and spa pool.

In exchange, the typical type of work a Helper would be asked to undertake would simply involve carrying out the daily care chores associated with horses (feeding, cover changing, grooming, 'mucking out', and general property care etc) - all easy and enjoyab... more inside

Hello Helpers.

Due to the cooler months and changeable weather it is unlikely that we will be able to host anyone til Spring (September) If you are planning to be in the area before then, you can still contact us as we maybe able to host you but as most of the jobs to do are outside and weather dependent it is unlikely that we can host you. If the weather forecast looks OK we might be able to host.

We opened our guest house accommodation in December 2013. The Spa Therapy room is operational and we have small group dinners and cooking demonstrations booked in for 2014.

We are located in Cheviot, North Canterbury approx 1 hour and 20 minutes drive north of Christchurch or 50 minutes drive south of Kaikoura. You could check out www.cheviotnz.com

We are not organic but do grow our own vegies, fruit and herbs. We have a variety of jobs we need help with such as gardens to plant and weed, lawns to mow and painting inside and outside to complete. We also have a variety... more inside

***We need helpers for painting, building, gardening and other maintenance work. ***

Great food and friendly hosts in the heart of the Southern Alps. Geoff and Renee welcome you to share their home in the village of Arthur's Pass surrounded by the forest and peaks of Arthur's Pass National Park. Arthur's Pass is a good location for walking, mountaineering, skiing, snowboarding and enjoying nature. Our homestay website is shown above.

Amongst other things, we bake our own bread, chocolate puddings and make our own pizza and pasta. So you don't come to our place to lose weight ;-) And to recover from all that eating we have an outdoor fire bath...

Please note: Renee is now on Weightwatchers as she cannot get up mountains from all the eating with helpers so she won't be eating Pizza just chicken and salads (not our chickens though).
We are slowly building an organic garden and have our own chickens. If you've got experience in setting up an organic garden in the mountains we... more inside

Nestled in the beautiful Southern Alps is the historic settlement of Cass (approx half way between Christchurch and Greymouth). I am offering private accommodation (separate from the house with own bathroom)in exchange for odd jobs - painting, gardening and lawn mowing.
I also have a horse drawn wagon seen in the photo's which is needing a keen horseperson to drive and keep working.
There is plenty to do in the area including fishing on many of the nearby high country lakes (1.6 km to Lake Sarah) day walks/ tramping in Arthurs Pass National Park and Craigieburn forest Park, skiing on one of the 5 local ski fields, four wheel driving, Scree jumping (down Sugar Loaf). A short drive to Cave stream scenic reserve (one of the south Islands best free activities) and Castle Hill natural rock climbing park (where scenes from Lord of the Rings and Narnia were filmed). Other nearby facilities are The Bealy Hotel (10mins) and Arthurs Pass 20mins. In exchange I would like four hours work... more inside

We can take more helpers from early May.

We live on a sheep and beef farm just out of Cheviot. We are about ten minutes drive from the coast (Gore Bay, a great surfing spot). We've got 2 lovely house dogs, 1 retired sheep dog, 2 horses, 2 donkeys, 2 kunekune pigs, a pet sheep and 4 cats. Then there are the 4500+ sheep and lambs and 3-400 cattle and calves on the farm.

There are a variety of jobs on offer. There's lots of work on the farm and then there is lots of work in the garden.

If you like chainsawing, then we have work to keep you busy for a long time. In recent storms, we have had a lot of trees blown over, and we do mean "a lot!".

I (Jane) am going to be away for a week in mid May for work so would love it if someone could come and look after the animals, do the cooking for Bryan and generally keep the place in order.

Ross, our farm manager, is very popular with helpers as he teaches you lots of things about farming, from feeding out to shearing a sh... more inside
