One acre paradise on the Otago Peninsula, close to wildlife attractions, peninsula walks and beautiful wild beaches with pure white sand. We have extensive veggie and cottage gardens, chook gardens (over 50 poultry) and lawns. 120 year old character villa with 1-2 bedrooms available. Two singles in one room and a double in the other room.
Meals are provided but if you want to make your own meals you can use kitchen facilities to make own meals with basics provided and fresh produce as available.

There is a bus service to Portobello but own transport is an advantage if you want to explore the area. We have a couple of bicycles and a kayak.

Spring is here so work is becoming more plentiful. However placements are weather and work dependent. Work expected: 3-4 hours/day, can include weeding, lawn-mowing, hedge pruning, planting, helping with chooks, housework, painting etc.

An opportunity exists for one or two helpers for at least a week, preferably longer. Availability from now on. Glenmac is a high country farm in the Waitaki valley near to Kurow. 45 minutes inland from Oamaru and 10 minutes from the small town of Kurow. Merino sheep and beef cattle, sheep dogs, etc. Farm work is seasonal. Some challenging and not so challenging tramping. Near to fishing rivers, fossil trail, lakes. On Alps to Ocean cycle trail and near to the Kurow Winery and Vintors Drop in Kurow. Help is required for Gardening, housework, cooking, painting, general maintenance, farmwork etc. Would appreciate helpers who can stay at least one week and who are self motivated. The opportunity exists for longer stays after that time if all goes to plan. A picturesque area central to many activities and attractions.
Comfortable accomodation and home cooked meals.

Hi we - Rod & Nicola - run our 100 hectare pastoral property to raise dairy heifers on an annual contract..
Farm and garden work available now - firewood, garden tidying, farm jobs, some painting and lots of other jobs. We prefer helpers with on farm experience.
In spring the farm is abuzz as we harvest fresh asparagus from mid Oct- mid Dec. We grade the spears in our packhouse for gate sales and also sell at the Otago Farmers market in Dunedin.
We have large vegetable garden which is a priority and supplies many of our needs. Plus there are shrub gardens that need regular care.
The jobs we offer involve gardening, firewood stacking, painting, farm jobs, house work and general maintenance - lots of variety.
We prefer helpers with some rural experience if possible.
We have a comfortable farmhouse, with an outdoor bath on the deck. We enjoy fresh healthy food.
Our location is just 3 kms north of Palmerston township and 20 kms south of the Moeraki boulders.
Drive time to Dune... more inside

Busy working family with two fun and sporty children Scarlett 11yrs and Victor 9yrs. Some help with the children and some help in the garden and feeding animals would be appreciated in exchange for accommodation. We live really close to 2 lakes, Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka and many beautiful rivers.
Female or Male would suit. If someone is interested in learning Stonemasonry, they could do so also.
The family love skiing and fishing.

Fully booked until December 7th - but happy to accept applications for later dates.

Looking for a couple (or two friends) who are interested in food and are keen to learn and help out in my raw food business. We have a monthly market during winter, more often during warmer months, restaurant orders and online orders. Preference will be given to couples who have some hospitality experience and can stay 3 weeks. Willing to discuss a longer term for the right people.

You can see what we do by visiting the website or facebook page, both listed above. Minimum length of stay is two weeks, preferably three (and possibly longer for the right people), as there is a lot to learn in the first week and to be able to help effectively. The business runs out of my home with a registered kitchen.

We also have two adorable dogs - Meisha who is 16 and little Beau who's 2, as well as a stately elderly cat Bijou who is 21. You will definitely have to love animals as part of the tasks will ... more inside

Are you an arborist or familiar with chainsaws?
Have you experience painting?
We would really appreciate help moving into our new home. It is an old school, built in 1877. It's pretty big and has a tennis court, indoor swimming pool, a lovely river and a great swing bridge too.
Can you help?
We provide and cook all your yummy meals, your own bedroom and private bathroom. WiFi too. If you can put a strong back into our jobs for 4 hours a day in exchange, we would be very happy.

We are 50 minutes south of Oamaru and 50 minutes north of Dunedin.

I am a retired restaurateur, have travelled extensively and enjoy swapping stories.... and rebuilding old Landrovers.

P.S......

Most of our meals contain meat;
either beef, pork, chicken, lamb or fish.

We live in a small cottage on the banks of the Clutha river 1.5km out of Roxburgh. I milk our house cow daily and love to grow our own vegetables and the summer is a busy time preserving fruit and making chutney. Have a beautiful cottage garden which includes an out door bath tub and a cob pizza oven. Would love some help to keep on top of garden over the spring as well as housekeeping . Would love someone from the September onwards to help with some spring cleaning ie; wiping out cupboards etc. Nothing to strenuous and there is also garden work for those that would prefer to work outdoors. We have a five year old so please child friendly preferred. We would also prefer females due to the nature of our small cottage. We live very close to the cycle trail so it's perfect for anyone wanting to take advantage of the cycle trails we have on offer in our scenic valley. We would be looking for fours hours work for five days of the week but we would be very flexible in exchange for ... more inside
