Hi,

We are currently looking for helpers

We are a young farming couple with a baby looking for some help around house and garden.

We are in the process of landscape and house renovations. Variation of jobs but mostly physical, painting, gardening etc. We do not require help on the farm although there will be opportunity to experience the lifestyle and some of the jobs we undertake.

Lots to see and do our sheep and beef farm and also within the Catlin's area, walking, wildlife and the sea on our doorstep.

We expect 4-5 hours work per day for food and accommodation. Normally we ask for help from 8.30am to 12.30pm although we can be flexible to this and also flexible to working more hours in one day to take other days off.

We have our own vegetable garden (organic) and eat meat off the farm.

You MUST have your own vehicle as we want you to get out and about and make the most of the amazing place we live in.

We are located in the Caitlin's a 20 minutes drive... more inside

Looking for help now!

We are looking for someone with experience in the garden, having just moved into this new lifestyle property with a big garden.

We are a homeschooling family with two children, 5 and 8. Jorinde is originally from Holland and has lived in New Zealand for 12 years. Chris is a born and bred kiwi. We have chickens, a few highlanders (beautiful cows) a dog, and a duckling. Most of the land is occupied by goats and sheep from a neighbour who leases our land until we are ready to farm our own one day. We spend lots of time outside doing odd jobs and work in the garden.

We'll provide food and accommodation which is a caravan or a room in our house, sharing our toilet and bathroom. We would like you to help 3-4 hours a day. Wifi is also included. Please do not apply if you are a smoker.

A short scenic drive takes you to historic Port Chalmers offering an interesting mix of heritage attractions, cafés and galleries. We do go into Dunedin at least once a we... more inside

We are developing a small fruit and nut orchard beside a small river in the beautiful Waitaki Valley. Working on making the whole thing a foraging food forest. Helpers can stay in a cosy and comfortable converted historic wagon and will be fed wholesome food in exchange for a variety of help depending on the season. This might include tree work (thinning, pruning, harvesting), garden work (digging, raised bed building, wheelbarrowing) orchard work (cutting grass, mulching, making composts) or general maintenance jobs. We love our dogs and hens and the abundant bird-life, that we encourage.
We ask for 4 hours' work in exchange for accommodation, 3 meals and unlimited internet.

We are looking for helpers to stay 5 or 10 nights in exchange for two or four 8 hour days work (working on the weekend with weekdays free). Any time over this summer from end of November to the end of March.

We are Lisa, 31 - an environmental policy analyst and Graham, 39 - an author, and our two spoilt kitties. We have half a hectare of pines, bush and gardens and a beautiful 1890s cottage overlooking the ocean.

You will do mostly gardening, landscaping, building, or bit of indoor and outdoor cleaning.

In exchange you will get 5 nights accommodation in a comfortable room in our cottage and all meals. Your room has lovely bush views, a queen bed and your own bathroom. Unlimited internet. The cottage has the most amazing views - the photos of the sunrise and cruise ship were taken from our lounge :)

Would suit a couple or friends who don't mind sharing a bed. Sorry no single travelers.

I have a room free from Dec 26 2017 through to 2 January 2018, then no spaces until February 2018.
================================

My children have all grown up so I live on my own in a warm, comfortable 3-brm house on the flat part of Dunedin. It's close to supermarket/shops, 20 minutes walk to the beach and 45 minutes walk to the Octagon (centre of town) or you could use the good bus service and be in the Octagon in under 20 minutes.

I work from about 1pm to 10pm or later, therefore I get the mornings free. I spend way too much of my spare time cycling or hiking so I am looking someone to help keep the garden in order and the housework under control. For accommodation only, I reckon 2 hours of work a day (you choose when you want to do it) is fair if you are only staying a short time, but if you stay for longer than a week I ask for 12 hours total in a week, with some of that being in the weekend when you help out a friend of mine.

For this you get a place to sleep and... more inside

We are a family of four living near the beautiful mountains and lakes of Otago.

We have lots of animals that need caring for. Many of which have been orphaned and hand reared so are very friendly.

It's really important to us that you are prepared to have fun, interact with our children and love and respect animals.

We do not enjoy having visitors constantly on their devices/phones in our living area and there is very limited WiFi.

We also run our cabinet making business 'Wanaka Furniture design' from home.

We ask for 4 hours work a day wood splitting and stacking, gardening/animal care/painting plus help with daily chores (meal preparations or general tidy up) in exchange for food and accommodation.
It's expected that you tidy up after yourself and be helpful at mealtimes and use your initiative to empty bins, sweep floors ect??

There are sometimes other young travelers staying within our community that we can connect you with.

Your own transport is essenti... more inside

**We are looking for helpers from around 13th December onwards, either a single person, or a couple. We'll update our listing when our current helper has confirmed what date she's leaving. Thanks!**

>We've got chickens and loads of fruit/nut trees so we need help with that
>We've been open 2 years now, so you'll either be helping to run the hostel/lodge, or do things like gardening, or complete the renovations (there is still the outdoor kitchen to complete, for example) Endless ideas!

About us:
We're 32 and 33, have spent 3 years travelling around the world and have done 6 helpx volunteer stints which we loved! It is time to get the garden ready for planting.
We try to use our seeds to plant out the garden or cuttings and they are coming along well. We have had a lifestyle block for the last five years and want to make ourselves semi self sufficient. We are intending to have an Organic garden with composting and worm farm which we have started. We have also started breeding chickens, also bantams. Donald works 55 hours a week and I am unable to do any heavy work due to back surgery. we have a 3 bedroom home with plenty of room also an outside room which we are hoping to convert into private accommodation. We are looking for people who are interested in gardening and anyone who knows about trees as we have over 60 mature trees that have never been pruned. We have two dogs 3 cats, and as I used to work as an Auxiliary Officer for the NZSPCA in Oamaru, most of our animals are rescues. We have plenty outside work in the garden, and we are very flexible with stays, from a couple of days to a ... more inside
