We are a family farm with 120/150 dairy cows. and We Have a passion for cows, ...its the silly season with cows calving and new calves to feed. We offer varied kinds of work..eg. farm work, house work and gardening..so if you would like to come help it would be much appreciated.
We live just off the State Highway 1 and 2 km out of the small township of Edendale...Great touristy spot like the Catlins and other scenic attractions are only a stone throw away..so to speak..
We are an easy going couple that would expect some work in return for bed and meals...Have all the modern cons with a spa to relax in at the end of the day..

WANTED:::: Someone or a couple to come help from about mid June till beginning of July while we take a long earned holiday to Aussie. Food and accommodation provided and the house in return for someone to do some chores for us while we are away. Cheers Debbie

Help with maintenance needed, and also cleaning the hostel. Comfortable single , twin and triplet accommodation and great meals on site. Bluff Harbour views, ferry leaves for Stewart Island from Bluff. Bluff has great walks, on the coast and through the bush. I am involved in the local Environment trust. I take my helpers fishing if they are keen.

This is a stud beef cattle property situated near picturesque Winton in Central Southland. The area is renowned for its farming and Torrisdale (the farm) is surrounded by dairy and mixed farming properties. The property is within short travel distances of some of the most talked about 'tourist' locations including Queenstown which is only a 90 minute drive away.
Like all farms there are many 'tasks' that are constantly on the list of 'I must get that done'. Preparing for/and maintenance of shelter tree plantings, small building and maintenance projects and some gardening are just some of the outdoors jobs that helpers would be involved with plus for those who are more adventurous working with the cattle is occasionally on the list.
Food and accommodation (own room, shared bathroom) provided. Internet access available. Helpers who are proficient in cooking (for themselves mostly) and putting their hand to the occasional bit of housework would fit well in the relaxed routine that... more inside

We live on a high country farm in Garston, Northern Southland (one hour south of Queenstown). The farm is currently leased to a sheep and beef farmer.

We are a busy young family in our mid-late 30's with two young children. Tom is a retired farmer and now a mountain bike trail builder and the main driver/entrepreneur behind our new, developing mountain bike business. Katie is a full time Mum, farm & mountain bike administrator, amateur gardener and loves creative projects.

We require help around the farm with tasks such as cutting wood, fencing, weed control, painting and general gardening duties.

We are building a mountain bike park on the property and need people to help build the trails. Most of the trails will be hand built therefore the work is very physical and hard, especially through the winter months.

We would like helpers to work 5 hours each day, this does not include a lunch break. We will only take helpers from a Monday to a Friday (4 nights at a time).

We live on a sheep farm with a large vegetable and flower garden.
Shoreford is 12 kms from the seaside town of Riverton so there is excellent river trout & sea fishing, tramping and surfing nearby.
PLEASE we are not the place for slackers or dreamers! If you work well we ask for 4 hours help... BUT slow workers must expect to work longer to complete a REASONABLE days work.
Also - time spent playing with the dogs, chickens and pet pigs does not count as your helpx work!
We like to fit your work to your interests and are happy to teach you new skills.
During April and May the tasks we will really appreciate help with are: potting nursery plants, tidying & mulching flower beds, collecting firewood, chainsawing firewood trees, sewing curtains, and at times some general housework and farmwork.
Unless you have genuine farming experience there are not a lot of farm shepherding opportunities but you are welcome to watch or join in with farm activities in your free time.

Small farmlet with mainly horses, racing and competition. Few heifers couple goats 1 cat 2 dogs 4 birds.
Work takes up most of my time so the gardens and fences etc come second best. Would love to have some help getting back on top of the section, house and farm. Also work with the horses would be great. Up to 5 gallopers in work, all farm trained and a couple of competition horses, plus couple young ones to be handled and couple foals to play with. Only 15 mins from Riverton, half hr from invercargill. Look forward to hearing from any potential help. Cheers
Sorry to all of those that want to just visit and play with horses, but they are racehorses and not pets as such. Not suitable for complete novices. Actually just had a girl from germany that said she could ride, crikey she couldnt even take a cover off or put the saddle on properly. So please ensure that you are a competant horse person, I dont want any accidents.
Oh and another, thing please state how many people you are t... more inside

Please note that we are only looking to have helpers Feb - April 2013. Hi, we are a farming family, with three children, one dog, two cats, three lop bunnies, four chooks; and Daffodil - our house cow; and of course our lovely farm dogs. That is to only mention a few. We farm approx 2000 ewes and 100 breeding cows.
As you can imagine, the job list is ongoing.
We are keen to meet up with people who have had previous experience with farming, animals, general household duties, and an interest in vege gardening. Projects with pressing time frames are brush cutting on the roadside; together with maintenance on fencing; painting; vege gardening; and a bit of landscape gardening.
We would love to hear from anyone interested to come and support us in completing these projects.
We love meeting new people, and learning about other countries and cultures. We love sharing our knowledge about organic farming.
We will provide food and accommodation for a good days work. Some days w... more inside
