I am a retired chiropractor with a large house and garden 325 metres above the Southern Bays on Banks peninsula, near Christchurch. There is a separate sleep out and bathroom,so one has plenty of privacy and the work is simply helping to keep the house and grounds maintained. It is isolated and beautiful. One is expected to put in 4 hours work for room and board but am willing to negotiate the other 4 hours. Total flexibility
I have been told by helpers that my description was rather terse, so am now trying to be more expansive.I have lived and was educated in both Europe and the States, but am now a happy and proud Kiwi. If you have other questions,or are interested in staying while in the Christchurch area, please let me know, and we will work something out. Peace.

**Enjoy farm life at it's best**
Right now it's Spring, with lots of lambs and calves about so a beautiful time on the farm.

We are currently looking for one or two people to come and help about the place.

About us - we are a family of five with three children aged 4, 7 & 9 yrs. We live in Lavericks Bay, where we run a 1500 hectare sheep and cattle farm, and tourist accommodation in the form of a glamping site - www.canopycamping.co.nz/listings/banks-peninsula/

Lavericks Bay is about 35 min from the historic township of Akaroa, and 1.75hrs from Christchurch. Lavericks Bay has a population of nine people (five being us) so there is plenty of peace and quiet. We also have a lovely sandy, safe swimming beach where you may spot seals, Hector Dolphins, our resident Yellow Eyed Penguin, and plenty of other birdlife. We have a kayak you may also use which is great fun for exploring and surfing in the waves, weather permitting!

You will be required to do about four hours of wor... more inside

Hi,

We are looking for hard-working and friendly people to help us in our hostel in the center of historic Akaroa. We are currently looking for a couple or two friends to work side by side in housekeeping & reception. It is 3.5 days a week each. We are looking for people to start as soon as possible.

In exchange you will have a private room, free wifi, free laundry, free use of kayaks and bike and mini golf and all your meals with hot drinks.

You will have plenty of time to explore the surrounding or find yourself some paid work in one of the many hotels and restaurants in the town.

Please note, we can only accommodate people with visas that allow them to work in New Zealand.

We have a 180 cow dairy farm. We also have four young children so lead very busy lives. You will be helping with cleaning, feeding calves, some sheep work, fencing, firewood, some housework and childcare etc.

We live in a beautiful part of New Zealand. There are heaps of gorgeous beaches for you to explore and Akaroa is only a 15 minute drive away.

We host a French University student every July to early October so we can't take anyone over that time. We also only have room for one person at a time.

We need one person from mid October 2017 for about three months. The first three hours of work each day pay for your room and keep and after that any extra will be paid. We really want someone who is willing to stick around and learn the ropes, be a part of the family and help us out over the busy time. If this sounds like you, give us a call.

We have purchased a neglected farmlet in Banks Peninsula just over a year ago, and still need many hands to help us tidy it and set it up properly. We have 4ha land, sheep, chickens, a dog, large gardens, two busy toddlers and a big, 150 year old homestead to look after, so many skills needed here.

We have two toddlers, grow most of our own food and run a B&B, so needles to say life is very busy for me. After a very wet winter, some of the gardens have become somewhat of a 'jungle'. For now we would love someone that can help tidy the gardens and do mostly outside work. There is also some fencing to be done and maybe firewood etc.
we also have work inside the house for a female if required. After a 6 week break from BnB, i need to get on top of cleaning, washing windows, laundry, etc before we start up again very soon. I still have painting to do around the house, so someone to help with the rest of running a large homestead, will be great.
This ideally suit a couple ... more inside

Fancy waking up to a lovely sea view? We live in a beautiful spot, 10 mins drive from Akaroa, close to Duvauchelle and just over an hour from Christchurch. We can offer lovely accommodation separate to our house to one or two people willing to lend a hand with general spring clean/ DIY/ gardening duties. 4 and a half hours (hard) work every day in exchange for accommodation and (good!) food -whether you are a meat eater/vegetarian.

Gnnerally, stays of a few nights or a week are usually more suitable for us than long term helpers although we have had some exceptional helpers who stayed for longer periods and this may be a possibility. We can pick up from the Akaroa Shuttle and sometimes Christchurch.

We have lots to do in the garden: digging, weeding planting, clearing etc. Sometimes, but not so often, we need help with general spring cleaning: house washing, window cleaning, shed tidy.
We could do with some help with garden work before to get things ready for spring. ... more inside
