Kia Ora.
We love sharing our paradise on a privately owned wildlife reserve with helpers from all over the world. It gives us the chance of virtual travel, learning about so many different countries.

Most of the help we need throughout the year is to maintain our gardens and orchards around the homestead. We operate sustainably which requires intensive labour and results in healthy food to share.

If you can help, we can offer accommodation as we have a rustic self-contained cabin for your use. We can supply some homegrown food, however, you will need to be prepared to provide some of your own meals.

We are both kiwis who have a passion for the natural environment. We can share the flora and fauna of Banks Peninsula, a stunning swimming beach, fresh eggs, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and choices of walking tracks through native bush on Banks Peninsula's "wildside".

The people we would like to share this place with will be nature lovers, especially those keen to get o... more inside

Hi There Helpers,

We have a small flock of sheep, a hobby vineyard and a good sized garden and are looking for one helper to start anytime now. The priority at the moment is the vineyard, the work is easy and pleasant. There will also be a small amount of housework each day, sometimes some meal preparation. There could be some gardening and other farm work but mostly in the vineyard. Oh.. and did I mention feeding lambs? Yep we're bottle feeding two at the moment.

Our property runs from the road down to a small beach where we keep a couple of kayaks helpers can use or just swim, walk and enjoy our beautiful little bay.

Robyn works four days a week at the local YMCA so you would be working with Peter most of the time.

We would like you to work five hours a day with us(or whatever suits us both) in return for a room and good healthy, varied meals. Peter loves cooking on the barbeque and sharing his knowledge of grape growing and making his own wine and beer.

If you ... more inside

Hi there

Thank you for stopping by ;)

We live in a beautiful farmhouse in Goughs Bay, 15-minute drive from Akaroa. We are looking for someone to help us with some gardening work. If you love organic produce, and want to learn and experience a sustainable lifestyle during your stay in New Zealand than this is the right place for you. Ideally, we would prefer someone with some experience in gardening and landscape design. If you don't have any prior experience as such but willing to learn, get your hands dirty and share your creative ideas, then you are welcome as well.

You will get to enjoy New Zealand farm life and meet our sheep, pet lamp Kulwani and little guy, Brian - the giant, our pet dogs Bella and Ruby and farm dog BOB ;) Of-course, you will also meet our chickens - Margaret, Brown girl, Marry, Princess, Rocky and so on. The last but not the least you will get a chance to feed our ducks - lucky and the flock ;)

We offer free accommodation (your own private roo... more inside

My home is in Governors Bay which is a small town of 800 people located in a very scenic part of the Banks Peninsula only 20 minutes drive from Christchurch. I have a rather large property on tree-clad section with a small amount of lawn, a vegetable garden garden and great views of the Lyttelton Harbour. I also share my home with my 7 year old dog Chica.

Staying and working here would suit a couple who are independent (i.e. have had some life experience outside of home and school), self-motivated and having a happy, can-do attitude would be most welcomed. Working hours and expectations are fair - about 4-5 hours a day, or you can also work a full day and take the next off... whatever is mutually convenient. Main tasks are weeding the garden, and also cooking. Although right now after the winter months the house is in need of a good spring clean inside. Having any building, or landscaping skills would be very helpful too. I have about 7 days work available at this stage perhaps ... more inside

** Updated - We're now looking for 1 person rather than a couple. **

We're a middle aged married couple, no kids at home, apart from our 2 super friendly dogs and 2 gorgeous cats.
We live in a new house we built 2 years ago which is on 1/2 an acre. We have some exciting plans for the gardens which we'd like a helping hand with. They're mostly landscaping projects, as well as some painting, deck staining and gardening. So if you're handy with laying rustic steps and pathways and can knock together a sturdy, neat raised planter box or 3, then give us a yell.
There's also a few light indoor jobs to do for those rainy days, like putting up a few shelves in the kitchen, painting, basic housework.

Accommodation comprises a good sized bedroom with bunk beds (double bed below, single above), built-in wardrobe, 42 inch TV, unlimited free WiFi, cellphone coverage by Spark (no Vodaphone or 2 degrees coverage at the house), own bathroom and toilet.
It's important that you're dog and ... more inside
