Hello from Beautiful Bangalow

We welcome short stays of around a week.... We've recently upgraded the small studio to include a double bed so couples are again welcome.

We offer an opportunity for gentle interaction with native Australian animals and bushland at close range while learning bush building techniques – ideal for anyone in tune with nature who enjoys the satisfaction of completing work tasks well.

We are an artisan-built house and art studios with kilns in a natural setting of remnant bush. We live among groups of Eastern Grey kangaroos, Redneck wallabies, wallaroos, a few Swamp wallabies, echidna, goanna and smaller lizards, emus, kookaburra, galahs, cockatoos, parrots, rosella, ducks and many more birds with the occasional deer roaming through and the odd rogue wombat. Sounds and rhythms here are nature’s own.

We are a married couple, both mature career artists – a woodfire potter and a painter. We have travelled to many countries and while we don’t speak languages other than English we know how to host overseas travelers.

We’re looking for helpers to maintain our garden and grounds and for small, bush building projects.

LOOKING FOR a SINGLE, a COUPLE or 2 PEOPLE traveling together from the last week of April 2017 onward.

We live on 4 hectares of sloping forest with rainforest creek and gullies. The property is 35 kilometers from Murwillumbah and 10 kilometers from Tyalgum.

A couple, or one or two singles, are needed to help with clearing a fairly steep slope of native bush in order to mitigate bushfire vulnerability for the house. We also need clearing of feral plants (lantana, blue top, camphor laurel etc.)road work and rock wall building.

You will see from the photos that we are immersed in the forest. The property is almost fully covered in sclerophyll forest with pockets of rainforest in the gullies. We are adjacent to the Border Ranges and Lamington National Parks.

We have no domestic animals; no pets, no chickens, no cows or horses. The little stallion that is shown is the photo below belongs to our neighbor.

There are, however, resident animals of many sorts. Half a dozen... more inside
