If you are a rider and interested in spending quality time in the saddle on horses trained for dressage and showjumping this is the placement for you. We are located in northern Victoria and breed and train horses for dressage and showjumping as well as hunt and compete at horse competitions during the show season. In the winter months we hunt a pack of fox hounds that we keep on the property and caring for these gentle lovely animals is usually a high point for those who stay with us. As a rule we have about seven horses being worked daily so there is plenty of work for those who are good riders or love working with horses, and can help us in their training.
We have been training and breeding competition horses for over forty years and information about us is available on the web. For those that wish to review that information, Google "Northern Warmbloods", or Northern Warmblood Stud" or "Youtube" and type Northern Warmbloods, to see horses bred by us (horses with the prefix "N...

Our property is located in dairy farming country on a hillside that overlooks Wilson's Promontory. The closest village is Fish Creek - a 10 minute car ride. We can meet you at the bus in Fish Creek. We are establishing a garden and require help with landscaping and gardening maintenance. If you have a car, we are 15 minutes drive from fabulous beaches and hiking country. We sometimes have a separate loft available, above the carport and removed from the main house for occasional visitor accommodation giving visitors more privacy. Rosemary is a Dutch speaker so welcomes Dutch helpers in particular although all nationalities welcome. We value meeting enthusiastic, energetic helpers who like to share their stories and experience around the dinner table. A perfect place to unwind and relax with good hospitality from a fellow traveller.
Spend some peaceful days exploring hidden treasures of the rolling hills and coastline of South Gippy (South Gippsland), as the locals call it.
Meeniyan is set in the foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges. There is a strong arts community, walking & cycling (Great Southern Rail Trial) and more... Go to meeniyan.org if you are interested to read more about the area.
A drive of 15 to 25 minutes leads you to a choice of magnificent beaches such as Inverloch, Walkerville & Sandy Point. With a 30 minute drive to Wilsons Promontory National Park, the southern most extremity of mainland Australia. I'm happy to show you a few sights.
Set on 2.5 acres there is much wildlife in the garden, including a wide variety of birds. Koalas visit regularly. The property is registered as "Land for Wildlife". The house is a 10 minute walk on a dirt road into the village of Meeniyan.

We are a family run multi generational farm. Currently we are reestablishing the farm as it has been leased out for a while. We follow the ideas of sustainability the best we can and are aiming to set up a farm that is mindful of the earth and environment using Joel Saliton's methods. We are in the midst of restoring a couple older farm houses on the property in hopes of opening them up as rental properties. We have just moved back to Australia after a few years in New York and are just at the beginnings of setting up a sustainable livelihood and welcome you to join us on the adventure. We need assistance in gardening, clearing up wooded land, starting a free range chicken yard, setting up a small dairy for one milking cow and building a pig pen and much more. If you are interested in joining our little community we have the ability to host you for up to 6 months. Short or long term projects are available. We have a separate room and once ready house for our helpers. Food will be pr...
