HAVE YOU BEEN KISSED BY A KANGAROO?

(We had several months of not having any helpers stay because Jo was ill. She is now well and we look forward to having more wonderful people stay with us again.)

We have a large Aboriginal art gallery (with didgeridoos and artefacts as well) / opal shop / display underground opal mine and museum as well as a Kangaroo Orphanage in Coober Pedy, the OPAL capital of the world.

We are always looking for help with a variety of work - odd jobs, cleaning the yard, some light construction work, fencing, gardening, painting, helping out in the gallery, household jobs and/or general housekeeping. Being able to operate power tools, do some concreting or tiling and work without supervision will be considered a big asset. There is always something that needs doing around the place. Your working hours vary according to the weather, averaging approximately 5 hours per day with plenty of time off to explore Coober Pedy. Time allowing (and comm... more inside

We are not able to take any more guests again until the middle of March 2017.
************

We are a retired couple, but very active. As a result we are struggling to keep up with tasks like weeding our vegetable garden, other simple garden maintenance and light housework & house maintenance. We would greatly appreciate anyone who could help with any of these tasks - and even cook a little if you enjoy doing that. We are looking for helpers to help us for a week in January.

We live in a beautiful and accessible part of the Adelaide Hills. We often see and hear koalas in the trees around us, we are just a few minutes drive from Mt. Lofty and Cleland Conservation Park and the Mt. Lofty Botanic Gardens and a 15 minute drive from the lovely tourist village of Hahndorf. There are also many walking trails including the Heysen Trail virtually on our doorstep. Don't be surprised if you see colourful parrots in our trees or eating from our birdfeeder almost every day.

There's always people coming and going here on our farm and the help we need is a bit of everything depending on your skills.
Situated in the beautiful wine region of Langehorne Creek, 1 hour from Adelaide experience rural Australian farm life!
The Eckert's have been farming this land since the late 1800s - 150 years and five generations!
We have a very large farm with many families and houses and a vineyard.
There are two families open for helpx here and they both live near each other so it depends what is available and what you want.
We grow broad acre crops like wheat and oats, and animals; lamb, sheep and chickens.

We have a very large family and there is always a lot of cooking to try your hand at.
The work is not usually hard, there's a lot to keep up with in the house; cooking, cleaning etc and on the farm there's always something to do.
Dad spends most of his time working around the farm, he loves to talk and the work is pretty easy going.

A little farm tucked away in the hills on the eastern border of the beautiful Barossa Valley.
With its small herd of unique Icelandic horses, the flock of geese, the two resident goats, the chickens, the two dogs and the cat, it is a sweet little rural holding. Help is needed in the gardens, caring for the horses and a bit of building maintenance also. Four hours of help a day would be a dream come true. In return, there is a large private room in the main farm house with a private adjoining study/lounge. The bathroom is shared with the family, (which at the moment is just me!)
A bed and breakfast is also run from the property in an old stone cottage just next to the main house.
PS: the food will be good-promise!

I have a ten acre property with an extensive garden and labyrinth. There are about 20 sheep grazing to help control grass.
I recently planted a small orchard/plantation of oaks (100 trees)
I need help maintaining property and garden and eventually preparing it for sale. This includes weeding, spraying weeds, chain sawing, painting, repairs of fences, buildings etc and sometimes some creative projects.
I am also tidying and reopening my art studio, "Atelier de Brienne" for mosaic, silk and other workshops including retreat days.
I would love the help of a handy man/ woman/couple, especially if you are creative and perhaps have ideas for workshops etc.
The property is in the Barossa council area and just outside the Barossa Valley itself; really part of the Eden valley - both areas are well known for their wines.
I am happy to share wine and food experiences with helpers.
