Hey there,

It's monsoon time, and we have a lovely concrete cool bottle boudoir under our house with it's own kitchen and garden space.

We also have a newly installed pool.

- we would love your help with gardening, cleaning and painting and can provide an awesome funky home for you in return with or without some yummy food. 3 great dogs to cuddle (optional)

You should be pretty good at working without supervision, but in return can learn loads about local food, permaculture in the Tropics and Darwin- and our place is awesome!! Read below!

We are a home in the Darwin Northern Suburbs on an old style large block, and try to be as sustainable as possible in our situation. We have a tropically designed "C19" house with louvers and air flow, a veggie permaculture style garden (currently pretty wild!), outside banana shower, 8 and a half chooks, some shared meals often using local home grown/ market produce (mainly vego) and lots of orange and green, and 3 gorgeous dogs. We have a brand new self contained studio available, which is seperate and private from the main family home with a large pool. We live in the popular beachside suburb of Rapid Creek, 10 minutes from Darwin city centre and a short walk to the bus stop, beach, pub and weekly markets.

ABOUT US
We are a hard working and easy going young family with 2 young kids (4 and 2 yo) so life is busy but lots of fun. The kids go to daycare 3 days each week and are home the rest of the week. Lots of visits to the park, beach, botanic gardens and waterfront in the dry season and lots of time swimming in the pool and having barbies with friends during the wet season.

LOCATION
Rapid Creek is a beautiful beachside suburb between Nightcliff and Casuarina beaches. We are located a 10min bus ride to the city, a 2 minute walk from the bus stop, bike path, parks, Sunday market and supermarket and about a 10 minute walk from the beach, public pool and Beachfront pub so there is plenty to do withi... more inside

Old style elevated Darwin suburban family home- near beach, bus stops and weekend markets. We are a friendly and welcoming female couple- an artist and a musician, and we share with one other young adult and 3 cats.
We will consider requests for a week at a time, and after that, it's all negotiable. It is very hot at the moment but our house is cool and comfortable.
We are looking for sociable, self motivated COUPLES or 2 FRIENDS to help 3 hours each a day- 6 days a week- in artists studio doing various jobs. Also gardening, cooking, cleaning, spring cleaning! You will record what you do during your hours every day in the book, and in return you will get your own COOL comfortable double room, use of bicycles. If you want to work 'double hours' one day then take a day off that's fine. Meals can be a flexible arrangement, some people like to do their own food thing. We are often busy in the evenings and this arrangement seems to work out better for us at the moment. At the weeken... more inside

Looking for one or two persons ASAP who can help us with the daily running of our household so we can work on our yard and building our home!
An example of work hours that would work well for us would be:
9-11am in the morning cleaning
5-7pm in the evening helping with after school routine
However we are flexible and if you want to work all morning or all evening instead then that's fine!

We usually have a queen size bed and single bed in your own room with ensuite. We also have a pool in the back yard to cool down in! However, currently my stepdaughter is staying so we have an upstairs lounge which is on a mezzanine above the main living area downstairs. The couch converts into a double bed.

Things we need help with are:
Cleaning windows (there are A LOT!!)
Cleaning the house
Cooking and cleaning up after meals
Garden maintenance (cutting the long grass and creating a garden!)
Childcare
Washing up
Laundry
Making beds
Emptying bins
We are not very far from

Hi and welcome to Darwin!
We are offering accommodation (one bedroom) in exchange for home help, available from 20 January. We live in a lovely elevated home in a great suburb, and would like to share the experience with the right people in exchange for help in the house and garden, including some hard work like painting and repairs. Any experience in these areas or other trades, including IT would be great - there is always so much to do! We are a happy and energetic family of four who are easy to get along with, and we are looking for people who share these qualities. We have two children aged 18 and 13, and we all have very busy schedules. We have welcomed travellers a number of times before, and it has been great for everyone. Our current helpx-ers leave on 19 Januray and we are as usual very sad to see them go. But it is now time look ahead to 2017! We expect three hours of work per day per person. This does not include meals, although you will have full use of our open pla... more inside

We are currently doing some landscaping/paving around the kitchen & getting the garden ready for wet season planting.
Our farm is 7km from Pine Creek in a secluded valley that was a former Chinese market garden in the gold rush days. Permanent creek/spring water & tropical fruit trees. Work varies with seasons & includes gardening, jam making, drying mango, mowing, landscaping, building maintenance and domestic duties. We hope to exchange 4 hours work for accommodation, meals and internet use. Well established tropical style living offering a choice of accomodation in s/c donga or tents. Internet available. Children by arrangement. Good food with some local game & fresh tropical fruit. NSI. Prefer short stays.

We are looking to host people to help out with a variety of general tasks around our cattle farm. Duties can consist of cleaning, painting and animal care. Please note: we have an on farm abattoir and process meat on the property. It is possible that you will be asked to help out with this process and you will need to be comfortable with this.

We provide food and accommodation in return for approximately 4 hours help each day.

You do not need farm experience but you do need an easy going attitude and be prepared to learn new skills. Any builders, carpenters or gardeners would be very useful as the farm is still in the early stages and is constantly developing.

The farm is quite secluded so you will get the most from the experience if you have your own vehicle to use in your spare time. Our local town is Batchelor which is the gateway to the beautiful and popular Litchfield national Park

Unfortunately we cannot cater for vegetarians

The land:
14 acre bush block of beautiful karst limestone registered with Land For Wildlife. 7 kilometres from Katherine town. No public transport. Great bird life, wallabies, sometimes echidnas, frogs, Gilgai crabs in the Wet Season, lizards and snakes. Not a good place in the Wet for anyone scared of snakes or insects. The Olive Pythons here grow up to 4m in length. Lots of insects after a rain too - centipedes and beetles and spiders and moths and flying ants. On the plus side, the fire flies are delightful at night in the Wet!
