This is a 6000 acre sheep & cattle farm, 1 hour from Hobart. The 1840 farmhouse has been restored to operate as tourist accommodation.

We are currently working to produce organic vegetables on the farm. Our business specialises in using organic ingredients to produce gourmet Spanish cuisine. Work is all aspects of farm work, whatever needs doing as well as house and kitchen work in the old house that we use for accommodation. During busy tourist seasons, this makes up the bulk of the work. We do need people with farming skills to help out our farm manager on a day to day basis too. This involves working with sheep and cattle, fencing, maintenance and all of the jobs that go with farm work.

Have a look at this video made by one of our helpers this winter about Helpx life at Brockley - it gives you a good feel for our place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuFv9eiroqM

We can usually pick people up from Hobart Airport and generally go to Hobart once a week if anyone needs a li... more inside

We live in the coastal/ country area of Bream Creek, on the east coast of Tasmania. We live amongst beautiful dairy farm country with a stunning beach 5 minutes away. Boneyard surf break is just round the corner!
We are a relaxed and busy family with 3 young kids. Our house is on a 1 acre block and we need help in the garden - vegetable garden, mowing, whippersnipping, wood chopping, mulching, making garden beds, weeding etc. We are happy with an average of 4 hours work each day - some days are longer, some shorter.
We have a room in the house or a tent if you would prefer.
We lead busy lives and, while we're keen for our helpxers to join in with our activities, we also need you to be independent.
Please contact us if you think you'd like to come and stay with us.
Helen and Dougal.

We live on a life style property in the North West corner of Tasmania. Half the property is a beautiful ornamental garden and the rest is given over to fruit trees, vegetables, berries, bees and chickens. We are passionate about growing organic vegetables and berries and as a rule we pick our veggies in the late afternoon for that evening's meal so what you are eating is as fresh as is possible. You will immediately taste the difference between our veggies and those that are store bought. Our honey is organically harvested and not heated.
In Jan/Feb we take our hives to the Tarkine forests to feed on the leatherwoods which give us the uniquely Tasmanian leatherwood honey. If you are interested in these aspects of sustainable living, we are the hosts for you. If you do not wish to be involved with the bees, that is not a problem as there is enough to do working with the veggies so nobody will be bored. We bottle, freeze, dry and do as much as we can to preserve our produce for the w... more inside
