Our flower farm is overlooking the Huon Estuary located 8km from Cygnet. The farm is half pasture and half bushland. There are 3 dogs, 2 cats, chickens, 2 horses and beef cattle to look after as well as approximately 2ha of flowering plants. The farm is quite secluded and a very peaceful environment. Acommodation is self contained and it is helpful if people can cook for themselves food provided or otherwise negotiated. So animal friendly people are very welcome. You can look up Peppermint Ridge on Facebook.

We are currently seeking staff for our Motel Reception and Customer Service areas.

A purpose designed rural community is being created on the Tasman Peninsula, 100km from Hobart, and 10 minutes from the historic site of Port Arthur.

Our place offers a Working Holiday to those who are looking for alternative ways to subsidise their travel or living costs.

A Working Holiday is a method of exchanging work for accommodation. Working Holiday arrangements are for a minimum of 4 weeks. Some helpers stay for several months. Free shared accommodation, with food supplied, is offered in exchange for 6 hours work, 6 days per week.

Each day there are many tasks to be done to keep this place, which includes Parsons Bay Retreat, running smoothly. The work itself is sometimes very basic and physical, such as the jobs in housekeeping, food service and gardening. (It is a good way to get or keep fit!). Plus, there is the development of the Village, a purpose designed subdivision creatin... more inside

* We are looking to host now (August 2014), come and brave the Tassie winter! *

We are a friendly family of 5, mum (Amanda), dad (Greg) and three children aged 5, 3 and 1 who live 35 mins north of Launceston on the Tamar river near Exeter.
We moved to Tasmania from mainland Australia last year and are single handedly building our own house and shed on 10 acres. We are living a 15 minute walk from the build site and Greg is building the house full time for the next year while Amanda looks after the children at home and does the school run etc.
We have both travelled a lot in lbk (life before kids!!). In fact we met while Amanda (English) was backpacking through Asia and Greg (Australian) was working there.
We are looking for people to stay between 2 and 4 weeks at a time to work on site with Greg on the construction of our house for 4-5 hours a day. We are flexible though. Our concrete slab has been laid and the steel frame of our kit home is up and the roof on. Next is putti... more inside

We live on a life style property in the North West corner of Tasmania. Half the property is a beautiful ornamental garden and the rest is given over to fruit trees, vegetables, berries, bees and chickens. We are passionate about growing organic vegetables and berries and as a rule we pick our veggies in the late afternoon for that evening's meal so what you are eating is as fresh as is possible. You will immediately taste the difference between our veggies and those that are store bought. Our honey is organically harvested and not heated.
In Jan/Feb we take our hives to the Tarkine forests to feed on the leatherwoods which give us the uniquely Tasmanian leatherwood honey. If you are interested in these aspects of sustainable living, we are the hosts for you. If you do not wish to be involved with the bees, that is not a problem as there is enough to do working with the veggies so nobody will be bored. We bottle, freeze, dry and do as much as we can to preserve our produce for the w... more inside
