We are on a 16 acre hobby farm in the Huon Valley, 45 minutes from Hobart. We have a small vineyard and several cows, calves, a dog and some chickens. The house has three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is warm and user friendly. We work the vineyard, have a few odd projects at the moment, like preparing for vintage, which is big day when we have a huge sit down lunch, live music and all our friends pick our grapes in the morning. But we also go for walks, sail and enjoy life. We are a retired couple, who are into lifestyle and laughter. We hope if you join us you will also enjoy the property, mix in and help when we work and also come with us and meet our friends and any other activities we are involved with in the community. No smoking.

Today's News
Nick and Fabrice moved the elec fence around the seaweed to keep the cow from eating it all. They got away to Arthur River to chill out (it has been cold!) and might stay the night in Stewarts and Barbara's shack there. The other guys are keeping warm hopefully. Stewart and Barbara are on the road and will get into Melbourne tomorrow.

23 April
Nick and Fabrice spent the whole day helping the neighbors put down a troublesome sheep. Jacques built trusses for the tomatoes and Quentin and Bruno kept the dog company. Later, as the rain began to fall, Bruno and Jacques went to town to pick up some food.

22 April
The weather is clearing in Lapoinya and Bruno and Jacques have gone to town to have the car serviced. Fabrice and Nick are in town as well leaving Quentin on dog duty. They are hoping to tractor haul firewood rounds off the hill this PM. Barb and Stewart have left Cabarita Beach and headed into nearby Queensland to stay with Emma and Matt (fam). Just chill... more inside

we have a nice but very wild property on the hill right behind the sanddunes of roaring beach. right now there's not much up here yet, little shed, container.. so we can only offer accomodation in tents, good food, and the beautiful view of the beach, surf, wedge island.. work would be helping us in the garden, build a pizzaoven and shelter for it, some wippersnippering, firewood, housekeeping.. (let me know any handy skills/experiences..) depending on the surf/weather we'd like you to help us roughly 6h a day- but very flexible with the times.. we ourselves can't work when the surf's pumping and wouldn't expect you to.. ;-)
We are looking for people who have a practical sence and keenness to work. Any specialised skills are a bonus too. Helpers should be able to work on your own unsupervised, some of the jobs here are more practicle and efficient by yourself..
you should bring your adventourous spirit for your freetime, as there's soo much nearby to explore, and we wouldn't hav... more inside

This is a 6000 acre sheep & cattle farm, 1 hour from Hobart. The 1840 farmhouse has recently been restored to operate as tourist accommodation. We are currently working to produce organic vegetables on the farm. Our business specialises in using organic ingredients to produce gourmet Spanish cuisine. Work is all aspects of farm work, whatever needs doing as well as house and kitchen work in the old house that we use for accommodation.

We can usually pick people up from Hobart Airport and generally go to Hobart once a week if anyone needs a lift to the big smoke. Accom for 4 people in special shearers quarters. No children. Mixed diet. NSI. Negotiable stays after initial visit.

WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING HELPERS FOR CAFE/KITCHEN AND RECEPTION.

A purpose designed rural community is being created on the Tasman Peninsula, 100km from Hobart, and 10 minutes from the historic site of Port Arthur.

Our place offers a Working Holiday to those who are looking for alternative ways to subsidise their travel or living costs.

A Working Holiday is a method of exchanging work for accommodation. Working Holiday arrangements are for a minimum of 4 weeks. Some helpers stay for several months. Free shared accommodation, with food supplied, is offered in exchange for 6 hours work, 6 days per week.

Each day there are many tasks to be done to keep this place, which includes Parsons Bay Retreat, running smoothly. The work itself is sometimes very basic and physical, such as the jobs in housekeeping, food service and gardening. (It is a good way to get or keep fit!). Plus, there is the development of the Village, a purpose designed subdivision creating living systems t... more inside
