We have a modest chemical free farm raising fruit, vegetables, grapes, chickens, ducks and miniature pigs.
Work is varied depending upon the season- this includes weeding, planting, garden maintenance, looking after the animals and helping around the house, cleaning and occasional cooking.Helpers work about 4 hours per day for free accomodation, all meals and a drink after work.
Helpers have seperate accomodation behind the main house with shared bathroom facilities.
Friday nights we make wood fired Pizza in our own cob oven and often have music nights.
We smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol- often at the same time :) so if this offends you we are probably not the right venue for your stay.
We eat a mixed diet and have a small kitchen area so sadly are unable to help with strict vegitarian or vegan helpers
We take our helpers out 1 day per week to show them the beautiful sights of North east Tasmania.
Artistic Helpers are especially needed as the property has a number of murals a... more inside

Planet Sandi overlooks the rural village of St Marys near the north east coast of Tasmania. I am a retired gardener who is developing my retirement retreat which I am happy to share with visitors. I enjoy meeting travelers, fishing, cooking, art, dogs, cycle touring, red wine, blue cheese, dark chocolate and being content with my world. I need assistance with landscaping, construction and maintenance work to maximize the potential of my property. Helpers have the choice of three double bedrooms with shared bathroom. Mixed diet which at times includes meat, dairy and grains and shared cooking is encouraged. No smokers or illegal drug users. Alcohol in moderation is okay but you provide. Six hours assistance five days. Helpers are welcome to join me fishing, beach combing, verandah gazing and story telling. I don't have a TV preferring to listen to music and radio and talk with visitors. Everybody is welcome at Planet Sandi especially mature aged helpers and families. Helpers should a... more inside
