* We are pruning the grapes now*
- We have a small vineyard one hour South of Hobart in the small but beautiful town of Dover. Dover has everything one needs: supermarket, cafe, pharmacy, bank, bottle shop, police, doctor's surgery, high school to 10 years etc. The beach is 20 minutes walk through town, the mountain is behind us. Our property has the vineyard, natural forest, pastures, vegie garden, lakes and creeks. Our wild life and the birds come visiting right to the front door :-)
- We are flexible with work hours. Some days we work all day in the vineyard/vegie garden, some days we just clean the house, cook/bake or do something in the cellar, serve customers or visit friends, sit and talk, read a book or go for a walk etc. You will be treated as PART OF THE FAMILY, so the help we require is not really like a "job". While with us, you will live the life of a country farmer. Your help enables me to go to work or sleep after a night shift :-) while you are taking care of busi... more inside

Hi, I am a young father living on the end of the earth trying to live sustainably and create a little haven. There is a little chalet with a double bed in it for guests plus a caravan that 'could be' self contained that sleeps 4. There is an organic compost toilet so not for the squeamish but otherwise quite comfortable. It is close to the beach (15min walk) and there is lots to do and see around the Island if you have a car.
I am happy to show people around when I'm not too busy but would be great if you are independent.

If you bring food and help with household stuff (cleaning after yourself) you are welcome to just come and stay for short periods.. im on couchsurfing too.

I have 4 chooks, a dog and lots of wildlife. I like having dinner with friends, gardening, drinking homebrew beer, listening to music, and generally having fun..

Things that I'm into at the moment and am happy to teach/learn as best I can are... Making bio diesel. Gardening. Building. Making beer. ... more inside

HI
Fourteen months ago we bought a 10 acre property on the East Coasts of Tasmania within 35km of Freycinet National Park and the famous Wine Glass Bay and 10 km from the beautiful fishing village of Bicheno. Bicheno is the nearest service town with all the basic facilities. It also has several tourist attractions including a visit to the penguin rookeries well worth experiencing. The bus to Hobart goes past the door regularly and picks up and drops off 400 meters up the road at the Coles Bay information booth. (You need to check the timetable as it differs from day to day)

We are a vibrant mature couple who enjoy a challenge and so have taken on a big one here. We are easy going, accepting and happy to share our life skills with people willing to help set up a new venture.

The property currently has a small building that we operate a tearoom out off. Our specialty is homemade berry ice creams chocolate dipped. However we are building it up to eventually be a fully fledge... more inside

We have a modest chemical free farm raising fruit, vegetables, grapes, chickens, ducks and miniature pigs.
Work is varied depending upon the season- this includes weeding, planting, garden maintenance, looking after the animals and helping around the house, cleaning and occasional cooking.Helpers work about 4 hours per day for free accomodation, all meals and a drink after work.
Helpers have seperate accomodation behind the main house with shared bathroom facilities.
Friday nights we make wood fired Pizza in our own cob oven and often have music nights.
We smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol- often at the same time :) so if this offends you we are probably not the right venue for your stay.
We take our helpers out 1 day per week to show them the beautiful sights of North east Tasmania.
Artistic Helpers are especially needed as the property has a number of murals and artworks on display but are always looking for more.
We have our own micro brewery making beers, wine, ciders and s... more inside

Our farm is located 40 mins drive north of Launceston in the Tamar Valley (Tasmania). We have a 140 acre property with panoramic views of the Tamar Valley and the mountains to the east (snow capped in winter), and to the north we can see the coastline and the ocean beyond.

We are a monogamous same sex (male) couple and hope that you will respect our relationship and our privacy as we will respect yours. Gay friendly. Open minded.
Our business enterprise is centered on beef cattle (60+). The farm is based on principals of perma culture where possible, particularly in the vegetable gardens, where we grow seasonal vegetables for the household and casual helpers. We grow fruit, vegetables and nuts, we also keep a few chicken for eggs and meat. We value the environment and its diversity and have therefore set aside an area (approx. 10 acres) of native bush that we rarely visit, to allow the flor... more inside

I am still working out the terms of the exchange and most likely it will vary between people... and range from maybe cooking a meal, cleaning the house, mowing the lawn, washing the car ETC... I also require motivated and qualified trades people to assist in the restoration of an iconic late 19th century building.

We are located 30 minutes south of Hobart in Woodbridge, on a beautiful property overlooking Bruny Island and the D'Entrecasteaux Channel.

Our property is home to 90 mature olive trees, spacious lawns and some bushland on the hill behind our house all of which requires maintenance and upkeep. However, my work keeps me time-poor and my wife Katie is unable to manage the property as she suffers from chronic fatigue syndrome. Her condition causes her to sleep very long hours so much of your time would be uninterrupted, but our dog Jack (black lab) and several cats will provide plenty of cuddles. And when Katie is up and about, she is exceptionally good company too!

This position would suit 1-2 people looking for a live-in arrangement, to manage and upkeep our property and home. Along with outdoor property maintenance and tending to our olive orchard, some indoor housework would also be required including some cleaning and cooking (the view from our kitchen makes cooking a ple... more inside
