Hello Help X'ers,

We are a fruit farm with strawberries, cherries, raspberries and peonies.

We are only 5 minutes from the historic village of Richmond, which is a little village with shops, post office, bakery etc, which is 25 minutes from Hobart.

We have two children and a sheep dog that likes to round up chickens.

We would like some help with general farm work, picking fruit, weeding and gardening. During December and January we also attend farmers markets and would love some help packing fruit and serving customers, it's fun!

We also enjoy sharing meals and trying foods from different cultures, so you are welcome to be a part of the dinner preparations.

The accommodation is a self contained cottage, with fridge, kettle, shower and toilet. It's cosy (i.e. smallish, although a French couple lived there for 3 months last year!)and suits a couple or two friends.

We have had some lovely helpers from France, Italy, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan and enjoy ... more inside

Majestic views surround you on this property with it's high cliffs, mountains and waterfalls in treefern gullies with wallabies at your doorstep and odd sightings of wedge tail eagles, wombats, echidnas, or tiger snakes. Surrounded by wilderness you have private walks at your doorstep with amazing patterned caves or for very experienced bush walkers Tasmania's best 360 degree views of Hobart, Mt Field and inland Tasmania with no tourists or hikers around.

You stay in a small wilderness surrounded hut 300m from the house. Wood heater stove, solar light, portable shower, rain water tank, and a 40 acre toilet. No electricity except at the house. All food is yummy vegetarian. The house has a strong eco theme and wildlife refuge goal.

Currently I need either 2 inexperienced helpers or a single with some light chainsaw ground work experienced help. Work is clearing fallen trees and burning them off. Please indicate that this work suites you in your email in order for me to reply.

A purpose designed rural community is being created on the Tasman Peninsula, 100km from Hobart, and 10 minutes from the historic site of Port Arthur.

Our place offers a Working Holiday to those who are looking for alternative ways to subsidise their travel or living costs.

A Working Holiday is a method of exchanging work for accommodation. Working Holiday arrangements are for a minimum of 4 weeks. Some helpers stay for several months. Free shared accommodation, with food supplied, is offered in exchange for 6 hours work (including 1 hour lunch break), 6 days per week. A 5 day working week is negotiable.

There are many tasks involved in keeping Parsons Bay Retreat running smoothly. The work can be very basic and physical, including housekeeping, food service and gardening, it is a good way to get or keep fit!

We also have work to do with the development of the Tasman Ecovillage, a purpose designed intentional community that is sustainable and aims to tread lightly on th... more inside

WE CANNOT HELP WITH 2ND YEAR VISAS.

We really need someone right now who can do some gardening, and would love to hear from any willing helpers.

We prefer stays of about one week.

Please request a helping stay by email, not by phone, thank you.

We live in a centrally located house and small garden (vegetables, small fruit, flowers) in Kingston, with sunny aspect and beautiful views; close to civic and shopping centre, bus routes to Hobart, Huon and D'Entrecasteaux Channel; close walking distance to beach and coastal bushwalks. We are a middle aged married couple with 2 adult daughters who live in Hobart.

We need help with general housework and cleaning, and gardening help: weeding, fertilising, mulching, pruning, etc. People with sanding, painting and woodworking skills are also very welcome.

Ottmar works full time and Elizabeth works three days a week, so helpers need to be happy to spend time working alone during the day, and to make their own entertainment in ... more inside

Here is 10km from Cygnet which is serviced by a daily bus from Hobart, 50km away. Usually someone goes in to Cygnet each day. This place is great for quiet walks along the coast/unsealed road with interesting geology, birds, animals, sea life and plants. Help is needed with land care: clearing culverts, grubbing out seedling trees with a mattock, "cutting and pasting" weeds, gardening, simple fencing, soil levelling and rock work. Internet is by satellite. An iPhone mobile will usually work. Landline phone. Tank water. Accommodation is at one end of the house. Cooking is vegetarian or non vegetarian and can be shared or catered.
