...The Quiet Retreat , a Lifestyle Property...!!!

15 years ago , we started to built the house and clear the land , with only the help of wwoofer's/HelpX'ers , so this place is a BIG credit to all my helpers ....
As a wwoof host for 25 years , now I feel that for the helpers who come here , self improvement/development could be one of their priorities...there is a good library of self development books...
I have practiced Vipassana meditation/looked at Zen/Osho/Gurdjieff etc and might be able to give you some direction...

This is a very secluded 80 acre property, a Private Forest Reserve , not a farm , not a party place , lots of bush and lots of native animals...yes, wallaby's , wedge tail eagles , wombats , spiders and the odd friendly black long lizard without legs , LOL...
Accommodation for my guests is in a basic caravan for your privacy , however most of the time is spend in the house , if you prefer....
Being a vegetarian and a average cook only , help in the ki... more inside

We are located in the idyllic valley of Lorinna, an active, vibrant rural community with a strong co-operative ethos, frequent communal events and working bees, a food co-op, abundant wildlife and wonderfully clean soil, air and water.
We are a family of four with a 5 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. We live on a property with several other households with whom we share work and resources and a stand-alone photovoltaic and micro-hydro power system.
In the coming year we will be working on a number of natural building projects and we are particularly interested in hosting visitors with building skills or an interest in alternative building. Building tasks will include timber framing with timber we mill ourselves, straw bale, light clay-straw and cob construction and earth rendering.
Help may also be needed working in the garden, caring for children and assisting on projects in the wider community. Visitors who are happy to share in cooking and housework are particularly wel... more inside
