Planet Sandi overlooks the rural village of St Marys near the north east coast of Tasmania. I am a retired gardener who is developing my retirement retreat which I am happy to share with visitors. I enjoy meeting travelers, fishing, cooking, art, dogs, cycle touring, red wine, blue cheese, dark chocolate and being content with my world. I need assistance with landscaping, construction and maintenance work to maximize the potential of my property. Helpers have the choice of three double bedrooms with shared bathroom. Mixed diet which at times includes meat, dairy and grains and shared cooking is encouraged. No smokers or illegal drug users. Alcohol in moderation is okay but you provide. ARE YOU A BUILDER - or have special skills?
We have a beautiful property at Adventure Bay Bruny Island, overlooking the water, and need help with a building project starting next weekend Saturday Feb 24th. We are building a small new bedroom off the side of the house. There will be people working, supervising and making the main decisions, but you would be helping us.

You would need to be ready to travel Friday afternoon Feb 23rd and the length of your stay in this particular case will depend on how things are going and what you'd like to do. Ideally if you have carpentry or building skills that would be perfect but not essential.

We are a friendly family with two teenage daughters but only my husband Glen will be at the property next weekend. We live in central Hobart and have had hundreds of helpers over the past 12 years.

We have everything you need for comfortable sleeping so nothing required, nice hot showers etc. You will be able to eat fresh Tasmanian salmon, chic... more inside

I'd love to be able to share this amazing time of year with some willing helpers so they can see Tasmania at its very best. There's a variety of things to keep us busy and plenty of spare time to take in the best that life has to offer.
"""" I will be needing help to harvest the blueberries now. Because of biosecurity risks can you please tell me if, where, and when you have been to other farms with blueberries when you first contact me. Thanks"""""""
I have space for anyone who wants to enjoy a slice of Tasmanian life. Long term stays are welcome but I'll take anyone willing to lend a hand.

Hi There! We are a fun family of 4 (children, both boys, aged 14 and 11 - one of our children is home educated) and live on an idyllic 25 acre paradise complete with veggie garden, 3 hothouses, large berry garden, fruit & nut orchard, beehives (about 25), chickens, dog, cat, rainforest & a lovely big dam for kayaking and pondering! We attend a regular local farmer's market. We have been part of the WWOOF host program for the last 10 years and have had about 200 people stay with us and really enjoy meeting new people. We love life & have varied interests but our life is very busy with Soccer and Futsal and we spend a lot of time away from home doing these activities (of which, helpers are always welcome to come along). We have a large, modern and creative home and helper accommodation is a cute cottage in the garden (however, toilet and amenities are in the family home). Work is varied/seasonal and we are happy to accommodate your skills and interests when possible, please note thoug... more inside

Hello we have some space from mid March (say 20th) to mid April. A bit of house sitting and some working with me on the farm helping with some brush clearing and generally feeding the alpacas, ducks, chickens and turkeys (and all their babies). Some weeding in the flower and kitchen gardens. Plus lots of time to relax and site see, good food, nice company, great scenery and fresh air. You stay in your own private apartment but eat your main meal with us - food for breakfast and lunch is provided - send us a message. We speak French & English and prefer stays of around 2-3 weeks.

We run over 200 alpacas on our farm and while not totally organic, we use few chemicals so we always have work in areas like weed control.

We are near Cherry and Apple farms - so good place to base yourself when looking for picking work. Cherry picking normally starts before Christmas and apple picking about a month after.

We are 50 minutes from Hobart, near the Kermandie and Huon River - gre... more inside

NEWS & WARNING TO ALL HELPXERS (AND HOSTS):

We are issuing this warning in the interests of protecting humanities seed heritage and the world's food supply, to protect nature from genetic pollution, and so that innocent people can know what is going on and choose to not take part in it.

One of the permaculture teachers and presenters at the recent permaculture convergence works with Food Plant Solutions which is funded directly from Monsanto and agribusiness. They promote 'sustainable' agriculture to the third world. An objective to control the world's food supply, by genetically modifying food plants and promoting the scientific agriculture agenda, is not caring for Earth or for people.
We do not take permaculturists or practice permaculture any more.
We have had many, many bad experiences with permaculturists and their 'system' which contradict their principles. Despite once practicing permaculture ourselves we have rejected it on ethical grounds. Our experience is that P... more inside
