We have a motel that is located around 10 minutes drive from the city of Launceston, Tasmania.
We are offering helpers accommodation in one of our motel rooms in exchange for 2 hours work per day. The work includes garden maintenance, painting, washing and folding linen, cleaning, general house work and many, many other jobs. We are also in the process of renovations so the work could be anything really.
Because of our busy working life we don't often get a chance to sit down with our helpers and enjoy too much cultural exchange but we do our best when we can.
The motel is located on the bus line if you don't have a car and the bus stop is almost at the door.
There is a shopping centre about 1.5km away.
Some dates throughout the year are unavailable due to bookings within the motel.
We look forward to hearing from you soon. Oh and that furry red thing in the pictures is Rupert :)

* We're doing the vine training now*
- We have a small vineyard one hour South of Hobart in the small but beautiful town of Dover. Dover has everything one needs: supermarket, cafe, pharmacy, bank, bottle shop, police, doctor's surgery, high school to 10 years etc. The beach is 20 minutes walk through town, the mountain is behind us. Our property has the vineyard, natural forest, pastures, vegie garden, lakes and creeks. Our wild life and the birds come visiting right to the front door :-)
- We are flexible with work hours. Some days we work all day in the vineyard/vegie garden, some days we just clean the house, cook/bake or do something in the cellar, serve customers or visit friends, sit and talk, read a book or go for a walk etc. You will be treated as PART OF THE FAMILY, so the help we require is not really like a "job". While with us, you will live the life of a country farmer. Your help enables me to go to work or sleep after a night shift :-) while you are taking care of ... more inside

We live in the coastal/ country area of Bream Creek, on the east coast of Tasmania. We live amongst beautiful dairy farm country with a stunning beach 5 minutes away.
We are a relaxed and busy family with 3 energetic young kids. Our house is on a 1 acre block and we always need help in the garden. Some of the jobs we'd like to do soon are: mulching the back corner of the block, chopping firewood for next winter, re-doing the vegetable patch, mowing, whipper-snipping, and much more! We are happy with an average of 4 hours work each day - some days are longer, some shorter.
We lead busy lives and, while we're keen for our helpxers to join in with our activities, we also need you to be independent.
Please contact us if you think you'd like to come and stay with us.
Many thanks,
Helen and Dougal.

...The Quiet Retreat , a Lifestyle Property...!!!

16 years ago , with only the help of real wwoofer's/HelpX'ers , I started to built the house and clear the land , so this place is a BIG credit to all my helpers ....

As a wwoof host for 25 years , now I feel that for the helpers who come here , maybe self improvement/development could be one of their priorities... a good library of books is available and some very nice music...

In the past I practiced Vipassana meditation/looked at Zen/Osho/Gurdjieff/Butterflies are Free to Fly etc and with my long school of life education , I might give you some direction...

Photo's,yoga, bush walking, connecting with nature, that is my young wife's specialty...

A Private Forest Reserve , 80 acre property, not a farm , not a party place , lots of bush and lots of native animals...yes, wallaby's , wedge tail eagles , wombats , spiders , very friendly leeches and the odd lazy black snake , LOL...
to like it here , you would prefer th... more inside

Mostly organic/biodynamic old mixed farm in the idyllic Allens Rivulet region just south of Hobart, easy access via Huon Highway (we can pick you up from the bus along the highway). You stay in our old dairy with your own bathroom or in a small self contained cottage. Mostly hay and veggies grown now, but also horses (mine and others). Plenty of work to do to keep the farm running, or just plain old fashioned gardening! Summertime help is needed with the hay and weeding, for the rest of the year it is random jobs to suit your skill base.
We play tennis at local court for free and have a table tennis table as well, great walks from here as well as plenty of quiet places to escape and read a book.

HI
Two years ago we bought a 10 acre property on the East Coast of Tasmania within 35km of Freycinet National Park and the famous Wine Glass Bay and 10 km from the beautiful fishing village of Bicheno. Bicheno is the nearest service town with all the basic facilities. It also has several tourist attractions including a visit to the penguin rookeries well worth experiencing. The bus to Hobart goes past the door regularly and picks up and drops off 400 meters up the road at the Coles Bay information booth. (You need to check the timetable as it differs from day to day)

We are a vibrant mature couple who enjoy a challenge and so have taken on a big one here. We are easy going, accepting and happy to share our life skills with people willing to help set up a new venture.

The property currently has the beginnong if our tearoom building and a smaller building that we operate a tearoom out off. Our specialty is homemade berry ice creams chocolate dipped. However we are building ... more inside
