NON SMOKERS ONLY!!! Sorry, no vacancies at the moment as I am soon to go into hospital so am not able to look after anyone! Will update my listing profile when my needs change. I (Yvonne) live in Launceston, Tasmania. Helpers assist with gardening, weeding, looking after the chooks (hens), cooking and housework. I can sign 2nd WHV forms for helpers doing specified work under the requirements of the 2nd WHV. I can collect/deliver you to/from anywhere in Launceston, the local bus depot or Launceston airport. You will be rewarded with good food, a comfy bed and a friendly family atmosphere. Vegetarians happily catered for. Helpers MUST be NON SMOKERS. I WON'T accept any helpers who smoke!! No drugs or excessive alcohol consumption allowed. This is NOT the place for the 'party crowd', pampered Princesses' or lazy layabouts! We have a busy, somewhat chaotic, lifestyle. Hello, we are a small family fruit farm growing cherries, strawberries, raspberries and peony roses. We are interested in heritage breeds and keep a range of rare breed chickens, and our farm is only 5 minutes from the historic village of Richmond, which is a little village with shops, post office, bakery etc, which is 25 minutes from Hobart.
We have two children and a sheep dog that likes to round up chickens.
We would like some help planting strawberries over the next few months.
Otherwise we have a few small farm jobs. There is also some light housekeeping duties such as preparing food, cleaning and tidying, washing etc.
The accommodation is a self contained one room cottage, it has a fridge, micro wave and running water, shower and toilets. It's cosy (smallish) but a French couple lived their for 3 months last year!
We travel into Hobart almost daily if transport is a problem.

We live in a passive solar, straw bale house on two acres of land that runs down to the North West Bay estuary. We have planted lots of Tasmanian native plants, a small orchard and a veggie patch. As our garden is fairly recently established there is lots of weeding and mowing but we need help with housework in the winter. Richard works in Hobart at the bureau of meteorology, about 30 kilometers away and I am semi-retired and love cooking and being in my garden. We enjoy meeting new people and hearing about peoples adventures and their experiences of the world. We are happy to have people stay at any time of year On a first stay with us we usually restrict visits to a week or so and during that time try to ensure a trip to Salamanca Market and a day trip to Mt Field National Park or Bruny island. We are currently keen to host someone who could help us learn Mandarin Chinese as we are planning a trip to China later this year.

We live on a life style property in the North West corner of Tasmania. Half the property is a beautiful ornamental garden and the rest is given over to fruit trees, vegetables, berries, bees and chickens. We are passionate about growing organic vegetables and berries and as a rule we pick our veggies in the late afternoon for that evening's meal so what you are eating is as fresh as is possible. You will immediately taste the difference between our veggies and those that are store bought. Our honey is organically harvested and not heated. In Jan/Feb we take our hives to the Tarkine forests to feed on the leatherwoods which give us the uniquely Tasmanian leatherwood honey. If you are interested in these aspects of sustainable living, we are the hosts for you. If you do not wish to be involved with the bees, that is not a problem as there is enough to do working with the veggies so nobody will be bored. We bottle, freeze, dry and do as much as we can to preserve our produce for the w...

A purpose designed rural community is being created on the Tasman Peninsula, 100km from Hobart, and 10 minutes from the historic site of Port Arthur.
Our place offers a Working Holiday to those who are looking for alternative ways to subsidise their travel or living costs.
A Working Holiday is a method of exchanging work for accommodation. Working Holiday arrangements are for a minimum of 4 weeks. Some helpers stay for several months. Free shared accommodation, with food supplied, is offered in exchange for 6 hours work, 6 days per week.
WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR A CHEF/COOK AND FLOOR STAFF FOR OUR ON-SITE CAFE.
Each day there are many tasks to be done to keep this place, which includes Parsons Bay Retreat, running smoothly. The work itself is sometimes very basic and physical, such as the jobs in housekeeping, food service and gardening. (It is a good way to get or keep fit!). Plus, there is the development of the Village, a purpose designed subdivision creating li...

- We are a small, registered farm-business, one hour South of Hobart. WE CAN SIGN YOUR SECOND VISA application. All of our helpers were successful with their application. - Minimum stay 1 month! - We are generous and experienced hosts. - We prefer extrovert people with practical ability who can work independently. Those of you who can cook would be especially appreciated. The work is varied (cooking, cleaning, weeding, pruning, canopy management, picking grape, feeding animals, serving customers in the cellardoor ect) depending on your ability and willingness to learn new skills. - WE SMOKE! so you will be exposed to second-hand smoke. - When you are inquiring about a place at St Imre, please indicate the DATES of your intended arrival and departure. - Sorry but catering to vegetarians this far from the city is a major problem, so we can't accept you.
