We are a family of three, my wife and I and fourteen year old boy, and two dogs,we have two separate properties one of which is my studio. I am a practicing artist ( sculptor) operating a studio on 14 acres and I'm the process of setting up the garden and exchange artist in residence and helpx accommodation ( very basic). There is a little cottage on the property with a double bed and an wood heater/cook top. So suitable for a couple or single person( one room) or shared small space. It has a lovely valley view and very cosy.
The toilet and shower are a short walk away. It is more practical in summer and only for the brave in winter, as a lot of the time you are outdoors. We are looking for some one to live in the little cottage and work for minimum 2 hours a day five days a week. This really is only an accommadation type exchange hence the 2/hours per day work requirement. You will have to supply own food and prep - kitchen available, If someone is looking to work for extra ... more inside

I could really use some help around my property.

I rehabilitate injured and orphaned wild birds. I have a large aviaries that I need assistance with and large gardens.

I would also like some help to do household chores, painting and generally help me get this place in order.

There is a self contained flat that is bright and sunny, warm and cozy. I would prefer a couple who are travelling together, or possibly 1 or 2 guys that are content to share a space together. There are separate beds available.

I am located in West Hobart, close to town, bus, everything really!

I enjoy playing music, guitar, it's a beautiful property,it is my home AND I can cook!

I am visited regularly by wild birds and many other native critters!Wildlife has a priority here.

If you are fit, happy and healthy, easy going and understand some aspects of gardening, carpentry and other various chores I could be happy to hear from you.

We have a modest chemical free farm raising fruit, vegetables, grapes, chickens, ducks and miniature pigs.
Work is varied depending upon the season- this includes weeding, planting, garden maintenance, looking after the animals and helping around the house, cleaning and occasional cooking.Helpers work about 4 hours per day for free accomodation, all meals and a drink after work.
Helpers have seperate accomodation behind the main house with shared bathroom facilities.
Friday nights we make wood fired Pizza in our own cob oven and often have music nights.
We smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol- often at the same time :) so if this offends you we are probably not the right venue for your stay.
We take our helpers out 1 day per week to show them the beautiful sights of North east Tasmania.
Artistic Helpers are especially needed as the property has a number of murals and artworks on display but are always looking for more.
We have our own micro brewery making beers, wine, ciders and s... more inside

We live on a 5 acre hobby farm in the beautiful Huon Valley, Southern Tasmania. Our family consists of three active children, two horses, many chickens, and two gorgeous dogs. We grow organic vegetables and breed heritage chickens in an attempt to be more sustainable.

We are planning on creating a new orchard and Birch tree forest and need help! There's also general gardening, helping with the animals and housekeeping. If you would like a Tassie small farm experience email us with some details of the work you have previously done.

We have a separate guest house (which is heated), however the bathroom is in the main house and is shared. All our HelpXers have loved working and living with us and I hope you will too (please remember Tassie is a cold place in winter).

There are many areas of natural beauty in Southern Tasmania which are all fairly close to us. For example, the Hartz mountains, Hastings Caves and the Tahune Airwalk. We live close to a sleepy village calle... more inside

My 57 acres of rolling pasture is within easy walking of the bay and is home to 14 horses, 3 goats, 2 sheep, chickens, 2 dogs & 2 cats. The horses live in happy herds, receiving hoof trims regularly, a natural diet & lots of love.
The accommodation is in a comfy caravan or BYO tent/campervan in summer (singles preferred). My cabin runs on solar power and has a composting toilet, and my aim is to develop this new property using permaculture principles. There are beautiful views, peace & serenity here with all the attractions and amazing scenery that the Tasman Peninsula offers.
Horse lovers welcome- especially those interested in natural horse care, horsemanship and positive training - all about developing horse/human relationships at liberty, before any riding.
Help appreciated with feeding the animals, manure pick up/composting, developing the vegetable & herb garden, weed control, fencing and property development.

We are located in the idyllic valley of Lorinna; an active, vibrant rural community with a strong co-operative ethos, frequent communal events and working bees, a food co-op, abundant wildlife and wonderfully clean soil, air and water.
We live on a property with several other households with whom we share work and resources and a stand-alone photovoltaic and micro-hydro power system.
In the coming year we will be working on a number of natural building projects and we are particularly interested in hosting visitors with building skills or an interest in alternative building. Building tasks will include timber framing with timber we mill ourselves, straw bale, light clay-straw and cob construction, earth rendering, mosaic and other artistic projects.
Help may also be needed working in the garden, playing with the children and assisting on projects in the wider community. Visitors who are happy to share in cooking and housework are particularly welcome.

Lucky me. I'm on holidays at the moment. But as soon as I get back in mid September I'll be needing some help to finish building my new packing shed and getting the garden ready for the spring plantings. If you would like to book-in early, that would be great.
How about heading to our beautiful island state and see what it's all about. If you have any building experience it would be handy .but if you don't that's OK too.

.I grow all my fruit ,vegetables and meat ,so you can enjoy really tasty ,healthy food[none of that tasteless stuff from the supermarket] Come and join in with the other helpers and we'll all have a great time .It's a good chance to meet other travellers and swap stories and ideas.

I live on my organic/bio-dynamic farm with my dog [Jake] in Western Creek which is in the Meander valley. The Great Western Tiers mountain range is at my back door so there is plenty of beautiful walking trails and lovely scenery to explore. We are growing a large range of delic... more inside
