We are currently seeking Helpers for Reception and Housekeeping from September onwards.

A purpose designed rural community is being created on the Tasman Peninsula, 100km from Hobart, and 10 minutes from the historic site of Port Arthur.

Our place offers a Working Holiday to those who are looking for alternative ways to subsidise their travel or living costs.

A Working Holiday is a method of exchanging work for accommodation. Working Holiday arrangements are for a minimum of 4 weeks. Some helpers stay for several months. Free shared accommodation, with food supplied, is offered in exchange for 6 hours work, 6 days per week.

Each day there are many tasks to be done to keep this place, which includes Parsons Bay Retreat, running smoothly. The work itself is sometimes very basic and physical, such as the jobs in housekeeping, food service and gardening. (It is a good way to get or keep fit!). Plus, there is the development of the Village, a purpose designed subdivision cr... more inside

CHECKING OUT: No one as we are currently in winter recess

CHECKED IN: ROBIN

Today's News
17 August
Barbara and Robin have been busy. They have been helping get Philip and Ann's late crop of garlic planted. Robin has been checking shorts in the electric fence and has begun weeding the garlic in the house paddock. The first of the daffodils are flowering with more to come. Late August and early September will see a few thousand in bloom. Maybe by next year we will be able to have the time to pick and sell, but not this year. Too much on the go.

12 August
Hooray! Robin is back. He arrived in Wynyard by bus and Barbara picked him up. He's going to help Barbara keep the home fires burning and keep doggie exercised. Plenty to do to keep rubbish off the electric fence lines and prepare ground for planting in Spring. Go Robin!

3rd August
Good weekend weatherwise. Sunn... more inside

About us and where we live:

Hello travellers, we have a large bedroom available with its own bathroom and separate toilet, and built in cupboards. There are two single beds that can be put together to make one big bed.

We are a family of three, myself (43) and my two daughters, 8 and 10. We live in a spacious sunny 5 bedroom house with a lovely garden of a small to moderate size, that borders a reserve that leads to the foothills of Mount Wellington. You can walk to the top from our house. At night, the wallabies come out to feed and we can see them from our kitchen window. I also have two bird baths, and a birdscaped garden to bring in many of the native birds, including some sweet little honey eaters, and one very bossy one.

We get all day sun when the sun is low in the sky, maki... more inside
