Hello, we are a family of 3 who have 6 acres to play with. I am Thierry (french), my wife is Vanessa (australian), our daughter Cleo (half half of course) and the cat Lexi. We joined Helpx because we need some help around the land and we love to have people stay at home and share a bit of each others lives. There is plenty to do here, looking after the land, the animals (2 sheep 3 ducks and many chickens) starting or finishing new projects and playing around making or doing whatever passes through your head, you won't get bored.
We are living 20mins from Hobart on a beautiful little peninsula surrounded by beautiful beaches (good surfing ones) and lots of walking or riding tracks. You'll be welcome to borrow bikes, surfboard, kayaks and fishing gear if you like.
We'll be sharing the cooking (we are vegetarian ) and for the work, we ask for 4 h per day and per person but are happy to let you organise your week as you want.
You'll have your own room or a confortable tent (up to yo... more inside

We enjoy growing much of our own food and have recently purchased a 3 hectare hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, small orchard and great views of Mt Roland. We are in the process of renovating the house to better suit our needs. The house is mud brick which some wonderful Helpers have helped us to render. At the moment we have 12 chooks, and 18 sheep. As well as 2 cats and one Labrador pup.

We are looking for helpers who are good with children and prepared to get involved with whatever work needs doing at the time, from feeding chooks to helping with renovations and farm work. We enjoy meeting new people and learning about their journey in life, their home countries and their culture, we enjoy discussing/debating the bigger issues of life. We offer a separate bedroom, shared bathroom, wifi and of course meals.

Sheffield is a vibrant small country town know as "The Town of Murals", Mt Roland provides a stunning backdrop to the town. There is a bus running into Devonport ... more inside

Beautiful 45' Sailing boat we found in Florida and sailed across the Pacific.

Jamie and Lisa have a small boy and an even smaller girl on board so if you're allergic to small children and small spaces this might not be the place for you :)

If you're interested in sailing, cruising, fishing, walking and you would like to get an idea what it might be like to be coastal cruising or cross an ocean alone, as a couple, group, or family, you will definitely gain practical experience and skills here.

For sailing trips we ask a contribution.

Help X projects while in harbour and on board include sanding and painting, varnishing, electrical and woodworking projects.

We've recently arrived in Tasmania and Hobart with be a base for the next few months. Great travels and see you soon :)

Jamie and Lisa
