Hello happy travellers,

We are a family of 4 (3 year old boy, 8 year old girl) living 20 mins out of Hobart, in a suburban area on the edge of the bush, near a river and 5 mins from Kingston Beach. There is a major bus route nearby.

We live these principles:
Wellness: Raising healthy & well-balanced children, healthy home-cooked food, non-smoking
Sustainability: Learning to grow organic vegetables using permaculture principles, composting toilet, building with recycled materials, saving energy.
Happiness: Balancing hard work and enjoyment, community involvement, time in nature, living simply and comfortably.

We would like your help with:
If you're an OUTDOOR person --
- Gardening (vegetable and ornamental)
- Fence repair
- Painting
- Path repair
- Carpenters welcome to help with renovating our studio

If you're an INDOOR person --
- Daily household tasks (dishes, washing, cleaning)
- Light childcare
- Cooking

In exchange for at least 5 hours work per day, ... more inside

Sorry we are full until Mid MAY, but after that .... Hi, we have lots of gardening to do at the moment in our English style garden our organic (non-certified) kitchen garden so we are after people who can do weeding and a bit of digging. We have many local friends into self sufficient living who could also use your help if you really want to get into gardening for food. We prefer short stays (up to 2 weeks).

We run over 200 alpacas on our farm and while not totally organic, we use few chemicals so we always have work in areas like weed control. Our business can sign off your second year Visa.

We are 50 minutes from Hobart, near the Kermandie and Huon River - great fishing for those interested. The area has fantastic food, fabulous views and lots of fresh air. There are regular buses to Hobart and we can also provide transport to Hobart each morning. There is a farm vehicle for your limited use. You will stay in our new studio apartment with sleeping for a couple and a... more inside

We are John and Susan and our farm is nestled in the foothills of Oyster Cove overlooking the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, only 30 minutes from Hobart (there are daily buses into the city).

The work is a combination of:

- caring for our bushland, designated Land for Wildlife
- maintaining our intensive kitchen vegetable garden
- care for the orchard and chickens based on permaculture principles
- developing our burgeoning proposal to produce organic sunflowers
- help with general cooking and cleaning

Be prepared to do physical work outside such as digging, weeding, painting etc.

Your accommodation is a cosy self contained adobe cottage with separate bath house. You will need to be comfortable climbing a ladder into the sleeping loft as well as keeping a fire in the winter months. We do not have wifi, but there is wifi at near-by Kettering.

Your work would be a diverse 5 hours per day, 4 days per week with the mutually agreed option of staying for the remaining 3 da... more inside

DRIVER NEEDED May 1, 2, 3 and other help needed immediately.
We are moving from Campbell Town to Launceston (45mins drive) on May 1. We have organised a container for our furniture etc but we need someone to drive our car to transport us and our pets and to help us unload the container which will probably arrive the next day. We also need help packing and cleaning this house and garden and help after we move. We are happy to take someone with very short notice. 2 to 4 hours work per day without or with food.

We are sisters, Ned and Leny, Yumi the greyhound, Dante the chihuahua, Mollie the lurcher (whippet/border collie) and Guy the cat.
Ned is a digital artist and Leny is a jack of all trades. We only moved to Tassie a year ago and we absolutely love it but we still have a lot more of the place to see.

We have a house right in the centre of Campbell Town, a small historic town very conveniently located on the highway 67km from Launceston and 134 km from Hobart. Easy to ge... more inside

Good Heart Farm™ is our little farm on the edge of Tasmania's Tarkine Wilderness (half-rainforest, half-farmland).

We practice: Self-Sufficient Farming™, Sustainable Small Farming™, Self-Sufficiency, Homesteading, Natural Farming and Organic growing.
We do research into sustainable methods of food production by working with nature.
Between 1997 and 2012 we set up Australia's first Sustainable Small Farm™ - a demonstration site for sustainable living and maintained the largest seedbank of rare vegetables in Western Australia.

Good Heart Farm™ is Tasmania's first Sustainable Small Farm™ and has an extensive food forest with heritage fruit (cherries, plums, apples, pears, quinces, laurels, figs, currents and berries), nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts and chestnuts) and native pepperberries. We keep rare breed sheep, chickens and rabbits.

Experience living the back-to-basics self-sufficient lifestyle. Join in as we grow our food, make jams and preserves, bake our own bread, and more... more inside

Located just on the outskirts of Geeveston, our house is on a little over 5 acres with a sunny aspect and beautiful views. We are on a bus route to Hobart via the Huon Valley. Nearby are the Hartz Mountains, Tahune Air-walk, bush walks and lovely beaches. This is a family run small scale farm which is managed to be mostly self sufficient.

Our family includes our 2 wonderful sons, dogs, sheep, goats, alpacas and many different breeds of birds (chooks, turkeys, ducks, guinea-fowl, etc). We are striving toward building a more self sustainable lifestyle and would welcome any extra input on permaculture ideas.

As our helpers you may be involved in property management including; weed control, animal husbandry, cleaning, cooking or helping to look after our 2 children. We offer a private, fully self contained unit and meals in return for up to 4 hours of work each day. With weekends off so as you can experience more of our beautiful Island.
