We have a delightful bungalow in the beautiful Devon countryside with a large garden and peaceful location.
My husband and I are friendly and would like someone to help us for a week or longer, until October, however we have June covered already.

Various projects we really need some help with include some painting indoors and outdoors, helping with our first vegetable patch, general gardening...there’s always weeds to pull out.
Organising our many wood piles, a little bit of housework and maintaining the caravan. It's mostly outdoors work, depending on the weather.

If you have computor skills you could help us with the odd thing that drives us crazy, but that's not as important as the outdoors/ garden jobs.
There's curtains to alter if you are handy with the sewing machine.

Ideally we'd like 4 hours help a day with your weekends free. In exchange we’ll provide your breakfast and lunch food to prepare in your caravan, and an evening meal with us in the bungalow. Pleas... more inside

I am a retired English teacher with an interest in all things organic. I have built a straw bale house in my garden, I keep bees and run a Community Orchard. I am looking for a native Spanish speaker with a good accent to speak Spanish to my grandchildren, who live down the road from me. They are 2 and 5. I will also like some help around the house and garden, to be arranged for mutual convenience.
In return I will help the volunteer to improve their English, I have a good clear accent. The volunteer will live as my family and we will have a great time!
Initially this will be for the summer, maximum 6 weeks. We also have a seaside apartmen very close to a surfing beach, which you can see in the photos. The first two photos show our Wakefield garden. The dog belongs to my daughter but does spend lots of time with us.

Hello Helpers

We are looking for a Helpx from now onwards.

We need a helper who can do a variety of jobs around the Buddhist Centre mostly working in our cafe (want to learn barista skills?) but there may be other jobs such as cooking, cleaning and DIY. We need someone who has a reasonable level of English because of contact with customers in the café

We ask for a minimum of 2 weeks and prefer helpers who can stay longer

We are a Buddhist Centre run by a dedicated team of volunteers who aim to create an oasis of peace which is accessible for all members of the community. We offer a range of meditation classes and courses which are designed to help people to find inner peace and contentment and solve their human problems and to learn more about Buddhism. On the ground floor of our building, we run a Community Cafe which serves vegetarian food including home made cakes and soups and offers a place where people can take time out of their busy lives and relax.

If you are... more inside

We live on the outskirts of York, near the racecourse. We have a garden and grow fruit and vegetables on our allotment. We're a family of musicians so if you come then you're likely to hear us, (and to join in if you like!).

We try to cultivate using the 'no-dig' method and to re-use and recycle wherever possible.
Our house has solar panels on the roof for water and electricity as we are keen to reduce our impact on the environment.

We enjoy meeting people from all over the world and have made some wonderful friends in the process.

The work includes turning and spreading compost, weeding, seed sowing, planting out, grass cutting and fence painting. We'll also be tackling a neglected allotment, reorganising the layout and making new beds.

From early summer fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving.
If the weather is bad then there are usually jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse.

We can offer all meals... more inside

I need some help in clearing my house. I will have just come back from abroad and will be moving. I will need a couple of pairs of hands for three hours a day from about 9TH JULY. Strong physically, to move boxes and furniture. I recently had a mild stroke so am able to direct operations but not do it!
Computer work (Apple) would also be invaluable to help me set up. And also DIY ability, should it crop up: I have all the necessary DIY tools for the handyman help. But the clearing of the rooms is tantamount.

Unfortunately I cannot provide food or cook, so that is something you would have to do. For those staying longer than a week it is a 6 day week. We usually work in the morning (say 9.30 -12.30) and then you are free till the next day.

The house is a comfortable Victorian middle-of-terrace, a minute's walk from East Finchley tube, 20 mins to the absolute centre of London and it is in a really leafy neighbourhood.

I am an actor and voice coach by profession and I tr... more inside
