Looking for help between 20th Nov - Dec 2017.

We live by the sea in Devon in the South West of England, half an hour from the wonderful Dartmoor National Park, 25 minutes from the beautiful city of Exeter, the nearest train station with trains to London every couple of hours is just a short walk away.

We live 5 walk minutes from the beach and harbour.

In exchange for about 4 hours work a day, 5 days a week, you will have your own room (with a view of the sea), decent wifi and all meals, including a packed lunch if you are going out for the day. We eat a mostly vegetarian diet, but eat wild or free range meat occasionally. The helping hours you are required to do need to be flexible around the family - depending what needs doing that day - but ideally if you are confident to cook the evening meal for the majority of the week, and do an hour or two housework, working on your own that's great. It is usual to just see what needs doing and lend a hand, walking the dog or help... more inside

I'm easy-going, well travelled, live in inner city London (Hackney) with a crazy cute black cat. It's peaceful house, and I work from home.

Looking for good DIY skills and also construction help only. Happy to host folks who're focussed, hardworking and can work independently and fast. Preference for those over 25, who'd enjoy a peaceful environment.

There's also some painting & clearing that needs to be done, so if you have experience in this drop me a message.

You'll be working 25 hours a week, and cooking your own meals. Ingredients provided.

If you have good construction skills and experience then there's the possibility of a longer stay & we can negotiate hours and genorous pocket money.

You have your own bedroom, working times can be negotiated depending on skills. Food is provided and you'll cook your own food.

We are based in a Grade II* Romantic Gothic mansion located just south of the English Lake District. It is situated in 70 acres of woodland and gardens on the shores of Morecambe Bay. It provides a quiet and reflective environment for a meaningful break.

The help required is varied and might include cooking, helping in the garden, household, doing office tasks, decorating etc. We also have various building projects at present that you could get involved in. We are always interested to hear about any specific skills you may be able to offer. Although the work is not always strenuous you will need to be reasonably fit and active to come on a volunteering visit.

In the Kadampa Art Studio there is scope to volunteer in the Finishing Team, assisting with sanding and filling etc. of Statues and Temple Adornments bound for destinations around the world. Short and longterm voluntary visits are available.

Your weekends are free time so an ideal time to travel into the Lakes, Conist... more inside

Pentiddy is a family run Permaculture and woodland project on a 27 acre holding- consisting of a small flock of sheep, a few ducks and lots and lots of trees including a small orchard.
We have built our own cruck framed straw bale house, with a new natural swimming pond and we also run a natural burial site.

Approx. 13 acres is existing woodland and most of the remainder is new planting of coppice, much with public access.

Living is blissfully basic, all off-grid- dry composting toilet, rainwater harvesting, solar/wind power systems, limited wi-fi internet available. No TV.

This is a homestay in Hampshire, surrounded by open countryside and with a large garden.

My name's Anthony; born in the UK in the 1950s I moved from London to Hampshire in October 2014.

***Please note: I am not taking any more Helpxers in 2017 but if you are looking for a stay in the Spring or Summer of 2018 please let me know; especially if you're keen on garden projects.

There is a variety of work to do here. When the weather is good enough we will be looking after the garden; clearing the weeds, tending the vegetable patch, chopping wood, cutting the grass, raking up the leaves, planting shrubs and trimming hedges. Inside the house there will be general cleaning and helping to prepare meals. Usually we would work as a team but it helps if you can self-motivate and work alone sometimes.

You have your own room and all meals provided, in return for just a few hours of work on five days a week; plenty of free time each day and days off to go to London or other places. I ... more inside

We live on the outskirts of York, near the racecourse. We have a garden and grow fruit and vegetables on our allotment.

The work includes digging, weeding, fence building and painting. We'll also be tackling a neglected allotment, reorganising the layout and making new beds.

From early summer fruit and vegetables are ready to be harvested and prepared for freezing and conserving.
If the weather is bad then there are usually jobs to get on with in the house, garage and greenhouse.

We really enjoy meeting people from different countries and exchanging conversation about language, food and culture.

We can offer all meals, laundry and accommodation, (in a double bed/own bathroom), in return for a helping hand, usually around 4 hours a day, although we're very flexible when it comes to fitting in trips and visits.

Non smokers only.

We only have people for short stays, about 7-10 days.

We are situated 2km from the centre of the historic city of York.

My husband, 3 year old daughter and I live on the edge of town on the grounds of a community called Osho Leela, a personal development centre with a strong community focus.

Even though we are part of the core community and work together with other community members that live here full time and volunteers that come to Osho Leela via the Community Experience Programme, we are looking for a person or a couple that can come and stay with us directly. We would like to assemble a garden shed but would have to replace rotten pieces of wood with new ones and create a new wooden window frame before it can go up. We also need help with building a low wall out of concrete blocks outside our pine cabin.

We would like you to work around 4 hours a day from 9.30 - 12.30.

You have your own room to sleep in and WiFi access is freely available. Food will be cooked daily and you can choose what you would like to eat (within reason). If you fancy cooking yourself you are welcome to do so and... more inside
