Due to current helper having to return home sooner than expected....I am looking for a helper from 9th may to 30th May ( roughly!!). I am looking for someone to help in the garden and the house. So someone practical. In return- a lovely place to stay and all your food and board free. It is often possible to also get a part-time paid job at the Inn or the Hotel.
The helper will have a room above the kitchen, up a step ladder and own bathroom.
Its a very picturesque, quiet Highland coastal village. 300 people. There are 2 hotels and a restuarant. The pub across the road that has traditional music sessions. I am helpful with English learning.

HELP WELCOME NOW!

It's coming up to the start of our busy season at Comrie Croft so there is always plenty of work to do, and working with a great bunch of people. If you would be interested in volunteering in the beautiful Perthshire countryside we would love to hear from you! We currently have availability during May and June 2016.

Comrie Croft is a group accomodation and wedding venue, eco campsite and mountain biking centre with a shop and cafe. Set in 250 acres of stunning landscape in rural Perthshire. Just north of the highland boundary, so while you are only an hours drive from 5 cities (including Edinburgh or Glasgow), the scenery is wonderful!

We are two miles from the nearest village, Comrie (it has a few wee shops & places to eat & drink) and five from Crieff (it's a bit bigger - has a supermarket but also some nice shops & places to eat/drink). Local buses run regularly directly from the Croft to both.

Hello, we are a family of four and we work from home so there is always someone around.

Our main project for the time being is in a 14 acre area of woodland by Rannoch in Perthshire that we would appreciate help with. It is about a 40 minute drive from our home. It is a mixture of scots pine and birch on the higher ground and predominantly spruce and lodgepole pine down low which we would need help to clear and thin out. If you are not able to use a chainsaw that is fine, we would be working with you but we really need help with the heavy work of lifting and carrying. We also need to build a hut there - this could be done in stages back at our house in Aberfeldy and taken up ‘flat pack’ style!

When we are not up at the forest, the work available would be general maintenance outside the house: painting, landscaping, fences, gutters cleared, log splitting and stacking, grass cutting, gardening, carpentry and building skills etc. Anyone with experience maintaining an old vintage... more inside

Our house is used to welcome garden loving guests in our B&B for Garden Lovers during the tourist season. We also have a self-catering cottage, which is let throughout the year. There is a large wild garden, open to the public with small plantsmans nursery, free-range hens, small vegetable patch and poly tunnel full of herbs and salads.

Help is needed with all this and in our "down to earth" lifestyle there is never a quiet moment! Whether firewood collection, foraging for mushrooms, shell fish or seaweed, collecting eggs from our rare breed flock of hens or picking soft fruit in season, there is always a job to be done!

We are an artistic couple who love people and offer hospitality to a high standard. Our volunteers will need to enjoy a changing environment with mixed demands in a stunning part of the world. Outdoor work is part of our life, along with bed changing and cleaning.
