Our farm is situated 3 miles from Dufftown (the Malt Whisky Capital of The World)in the north east of Scotland we are currently converting a steading into holiday accommodation and are in the final stages of this. We need enthusiastic hard working people to help us finish off the project. Outdoor work weather permitting is picking and pointing stonework, laying decking and wall and fence building. Indoor work would be finishing plasterboarding and staining woodwork and painting ect. We can provide food and accommodation in exchange for this. Comfortable accommodation would be in one room in the steading. We would provide lifts to and from Dufftown where there is a bus service to Elgin. We could maybe find you a bike if you like cycling.
We are fairly easy going and good to get on with. We have 2 daughters who are home schooled and 2 Labradors. Ideally looking for someone for 2 weeks at a time but if we get on well it could be longer...a lot longer..as there is always plenty to do....

The Old School lies in the hills a few miles to the south of Loch Ness, and about 20 miles from Inverness. We overlook Loch Mhor, where we kayak and wind-surf, and even swim if it’s warm!. The wild Monadhliath Mountains lie beyond the loch.
We have a medium-sized organic garden, growing vegetables and eggs for the family, and a small tree nursery for native trees. We are also working on a number of outdoor building and conservation projects.
A little about ourselves… There are usually 5 of us at home: John (65), Heather (55), and our children: Moteh (27), Eleanor (22) and Izzy (19). We usually have friends staying, too, so it's quite a busy, happy house. We like music, cooking and working (and playing) outside.
This summer, we need one or two helpers who would enjoy working in the garden, building and decorating. Our helpers should be physically fit, practical and be willing to learn new skills.
The helpers' accommodation is in a separate building next to ours (it was onc... more inside

Katie and I own a small crofting home in the rural heart of the Scottish West Highlands in a small village called Lochailort.

During the summer months and peak times we offer Bed and Breakfast or Self / Catering to paying guests.

We are still looking for suitable help from late July onwards with a minimum stay of 4 weeks or longer if you can.

We are remote, but the area is stunning and can be just the most beautiful in all seasons.

Your first passion must be a love for nature and the rural environment. We are 27 miles from the nearest town (Fort William), and surrounded by mountains and a small stream. The Harry Potter railway passes by our back door. The seaside is just 5 minutes away and we are fortunate to live in one of the most scenic parts of the North West Highlands.

During time off you are welcome to make use of our bikes and kayaks, or simply take to the hills with our two lovely dogs for company :-)

Your second love needs to be for animals (especially o... more inside
