UPDATE JULY 2015

Thanks folks: we have now filled our places for April to October with volunteers from France, Iran, UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, Spain & Turkey.

We are now starting to look for A RESILIENT, UP FOR A CHALLENGE, OUTDOOR COUPLE AS WINTER HELPERS NOVEMBER, 2015 TO APRIL 2016. A modest weekly Winter Responsibility Allowance is available for the right candidates. We work in the mornings, rest or explore in the afternoons and share hospitality tasks by rotation in the evenings 6 days a week. Sometimes we work on in the afternoons to catch the short daylight hours, then rest up in the late afternoon and evenings.

Specifically, apart from being able to offer first class hospitality to guests, one of you at least would need to be able to help with the final stages of our latest timber hut construction, painting, snow clearing by shovel and/or quadbike with plough, winter feeding of sheep, ducks and hens, A1 standard of cleaning and preparation of the hostel a... more inside

HELP WELCOME NOW!

We are keen to have a couple or single person able to commit to be here for the month of August. It's the busiest time of our year and there is a great buzz at Comrie Croft at the moment. Lots to do and working with a great bunch of people, why would you want to be anywhere else but in the beautiful Perthshire countryside?

Comrie Croft is a hostel (converted farm buildings), campsite, bike hire & trails centre with a shop and cafe, set in 250 acres of stunning landscape in rural Perthshire. The land is situated just north of the highland boundary, so while you are only just over an hours drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow, the scenery is wonderful!

We are two miles from the nearest village, Comrie (it has a few wee shops & places to eat & drink) and five from Crieff (it's a bit bigger - has a supermarket but also some nice shops & places to eat/drink). Local buses run regularly directly from the Croft to both.

We are a private family estate situated on the east coast of Scotland approx 15 miles from St. Andrews and within a reasonable distance of Cupar.

Currently we are looking for help within our outstanding 60 acre (24 ha) garden which consists of a restored Victorian Walled Garden and Glasshouses used for producing cut flowers and fresh produce for the house, several informal gardens, hillside gardens and formal gardens around the mansion. The house was originally built in 1870's in the typically Victorian Scottish Baronial Style and was completely restored in the late 1990's.

The wider estate includes an organic livestock farm, trout fishing and an active shoot from the end of Summer.

Self-catering accommodation is provided at the edge of the estate and transportation across the estate is also available for HelpX volunteers.

We are looking for help in the gardens from 1st September 2015 and long-term (more than 4 weeks) volunteers are preferred.

The estate is an ... more inside
