35 hectare farm that I have leased out most of while I go travelling. Cows and sheep therefore farmed by other people but help may be requested of those interested. I need some one to look after 2 horses,2driving ponies, 2 dogs, 2 old cats and lots of chickens. My husband is staying at home while I travel but he has limited interest in the horses. I am on Orkney, the group of islands off the north coast of Scotland, rich in history and culture

been organic since 1978 when my family bought the place. really at the renovation stage now, as my parents got old & things fell apart.. we are really fixing things up to get ready to start growing for next year...

we are also obsessed with our animals as friends & have some horses, so can help you get used to horses & trek out if you are able. our horses are very used to beginners but are also well able to compete at reasonable levels too.

the house is old & needs lots of work to modernise it. it is however warm & comfortable & although we are very rural we have a steady bunch of friends who visit from nearby & also from other countries we have been to ourselves.

the area is known as a beauty spot for walking, camping, cycling, trekking & sailing. there is good transport for this area & you can walk to the bus stop in 12 minutes from the house. it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes to travel to Glasgow on the bus or bus, train & ferry combination & the nearest town is called du... more inside

***** Helpers wanted for December 2014 - January 2015 ****

We are Yvonne & Matthew Anderson. We run a high quality dinner, bed & breakfast business from our home Melfort House, in the Scottish Highlands. Melfort House is building a reputation for providing excellent food. We have a stretch of foreshore onto Loch Melfort, some native woodland and number of fields and paddocks around the house which provide grazing to livestock. We operate a 54 foot polytunnel which provides us with veg and salad crops for our business and family. We have hens, a guinea pig, cat and 2 dogs.

We would like 2 people (a couple or friends) to help us preferably for 3+ week stays, or longer, from October.
We need helpers who have good English, can be flexible and are prepared to help in the garden, with dog walking and housekeeping, breakfast or dinner service. In return we can offer private, spacious accommodation, all food, laundry and WIFI. We are surrounded by beautiful hills, forests ... more inside

HELP WELCOME NOW!

This is a hostel (converted farm buildings), campsite, bike hire & trails centre with a small shop and cafe, set in 250 acres of stunning landscape in rural Perthshire. The land is situated just north of the highland boundary, so while you are only just over an hour's drive from Edinburgh or Glasgow, the scenery is wonderful!

We are two miles from the nearest village, Comrie (it has a few wee shops & places to eat & drink) and five from Crieff (it's a bit bigger - has a supermarket but also some nice wee shops & places to eat/drink). Local buses run regularly directly from the Croft to both.

WHAT WE OFFER

We ask for 20 hours work per week (usually four per day, five days with two off, but we try to be flexible) in return for your accommodation, which is a private comfortable small caravan with bedroom/sitting/kitchen area, or a room in the hostel when available. The campsite facilities are just a short distance from the caravan. You will have full ... more inside

Our farm is situated 3 miles from Dufftown (the Malt Whisky Capital of The World). We are currently converting a steading into holiday accommodation and are in the final stages of this. We need enthusiastic hard working people to help us finish off the project. Outdoor work weather permitting is picking and pointing stonework, laying decking and wall and fence building. Indoor work would be finishing plasterboarding and staining woodwork and painting ect. We can provide food and accommodation in exchange for this. Accommodation would either be in your own caravan (provided by us) or in one room in the steading. We would provide lifts to and from Dufftown where there is a bus service to Elgin. We could maybe find you a bike if you like cycling.
We are fairly easy going and good to get on with. We have 2 daughters who are home schooled and 3 Labradors. Ideally looking for someone for 2 weeks at a time but if we get on well it could be longer...a lot longer..as there is always plenty... more inside

Hi, We are looking for one person or a couple who would like to help in our small family run hotel from November for as long as you can.
We live in the most beautiful part of Scotland with many outdoor activities, close to Stirling and not too far from the cultural cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow we all work in the hotel as a team, my husband Alex is the chef and we are looking for someone to help him in the kitchen and hotel. Experience in bar or hotel work would be preferable but not essential.
Basic English is needed but you would have plenty of time to improve your English.
you also need to be fun and confident to fit in with our team, residents and local customers.
We unfortunately have been let down at the last minute by a potential helper so are looking for someone to start immediately. hope to hear from you soon.
Many Thanks
Victoria
