The start of a new season and busy trying to get everything ready in time. The boat is nearly ready but there are always things to do and can always do with some help especially In our large challenging garden. We also have a small landscaping job at our self catering property.
We do cruises on a 64 passenger boat and this needs care and maintenance so any one good with a paint brush welcome. Help with boat hire too from Easter and in our little gift shop /booking office.

The village we stay in is near the Isle of Skye and has a great atmosphere,it is friendly with two local pubs which have regular traditional music evenings. The village is on the loch and is good for water sports in the summer.

Accommodation in the house single room or double - (No smoking please)

We do not always have accommodation available in the summer months but contact us anyway if you fancy coming up here, we might be able to give you a room. We have loved having helpxers and look forward to meet... more inside

This is a tiny business trying to grow fresh herbs, fruit and vegetables without the use of chemicals in a field near Strachur on Loch Fyne.
There are 24 chickens & 11 call ducks, a huge polytunnel, a fruit cage, coppice, orchard, veggie patches and ponds. All surrounded by wildlife friendly/edible hedging and or fedging. There are worm farms, various compost heaps, a comfrey patch and a liquid feed station.
Kate & Russell Glasgow are interested in offering work experience helping us in the early days of our attempts to start a market garden. We are influenced by nature, organics, permaculture and no-dig.
We offer a taste of life in the countryside and methods of gardening without the use of chemicals, there are lots of useful reference books here. We would provide food and basic accommodation in the caravan.
Initially we need a handyperson to fix up the caravan and stay in it for free. It is warm and dry has low pressure running water and electricity. We would pay for material... more inside

Thanks for looking. This is what we are about in a nutshell:

Our lodge is a secluded, easily accessible guest house and retreat space offering bed and breakfast with stunning views of the Scottish countryside in the Kingdom of Fife. We offer a tranquil, relaxing space for those exploring the area, business people who want a more personal experience than a hotel or those just wanting to stay and be nourished in mind, body and soul" - Its a place where you can just "Be".

You will be supporting us in making the above guest experience possible.

We value authenticity, integrity, honesty and self-awareness.

We have put together this outline as a result of our hosting experience so far. We find that it helps to clarify what is on offer at Cherry Tree Lodge and what is expected of someone who comes to support what we offer. Expectations have a greater chance of being met for both parties which can lead to a more all-round, fulfilling experience.

We are looking for people who... more inside

Hello… I’m Celia and I live with my 11 year old son Dylan on our croft.I am looking for volunteers to help me from now till the end of September.
The croft is on the NW side of Eigg with wonderful views of Rum. Singing Sands is a short walk. There are 18 acres of land with, so far, 12 sheep, 2 pigs, 5 chickens and a cat. This is one of the new crofts created by the Isle of Eigg Trust and I am starting to develop it. I need help with fencing, gardening and small construction projects. On site there is a small cabin, yurt, caravan and various sheds and polytunnel.
My other big project I need help with is preparing Selkie, a 15m aluminium yacht, for the season. I will be running charters, creative voyages and scheduled sailings from mid-July onwards. Jobs on board range from painting, mechanics, wiring and deck work. There will be opportunity to learn many things about boats and sailing. I have many years sailing and boat experience and Dylan has spent most of his life livin... more inside

*It may be a long way for you to come so it is really important for me that this is the kind of place that you will benefit from visiting. I have tried to describe the place and our lifestyle accurately, so please read carefully before contacting, thanks!*

My son and I have lived on this smallholding for the past 12 years. We have a cottage, a bothy/music rehearsal room where sometimes couchsurfers have stayed, a workshop for art and creative projects. We enjoy crafts, I make things from beach wood, my son is studying art and my girlfriend is an artist and musician.

The land is approximately 1 hectare, I have planted over 500 trees and they are just starting to grow taller than me. There is a vegetable garden and a polytunnel (greenhouse). I try to grow all my vegetables and I am still learning about preserving vegetables so that we can be self-sufficient as much as possible. I also have chickens for eggs, a cat that lives outside and a very energetic puppy.

I like to ... more inside
