Help is needed from 08/06 to 06/07 and from 10/08 to the end of September.
Armadale House B&B had their first HelX volunteers in 2012. What a great experience. HelpX volunteers from all over the world came and helped out. A great experience not only for the B&B, but also for the volunteers.

The North Coast of Scotland is a brilliant place to do hill walking, surfing, bird watching, painting and photography.

HelpX volunteers mostly stay for a couple of weeks or even longer.

Cleaning and cooking breakfast are the basics for this volunteer job. In exchange you will get the great experience of living at the Far North Coast of Scotland.

Our HelpX volunteers work on a four days on - four days off shift. This gives you a good opportunity to explore the Highlands of Scotland on the days off.

In case the B&B is not to busy, there are always other jobs to do, just tell us your talents/skills and we will see if it fits in.

We will do our best to give you a great ti... more inside

Small friendly organic market garden in west of Scotland with herd of milking goats, about ten miles from Glasgow city centre. We set up the farm 25 years ago to provide young people with training in natural goat-keeping and all aspects of organic growing, such as permaculture. biodynamic methods and other innovative and time-saving methods.

We are looking for volunteers to join us for long or short stays (minimum three weeks) who want to know more about goats, growing food and survival methods such as saving seed. In return for about six hours work a day you will enjoy healthy organic food and stay in a heated caravan.

The work can sometimes be hard but we have a lot of fun!

Sadly these days, since we had some crazy folk here in the past, we have found that we have to ask people wanting to come and live with us for a reference, and to let us have the name, occupation,(farmer, other host, previous boss, lecturer or teacher) and telephone number of the referee. We have had ... more inside

This is not for the fainthearted! I, your host, am a 41 year old environmental stonemason who returned from working overseas two years ago to renovate my property.
I live here with my girlfriend and our small jack russell dog. This property is surrounded by farm land with sheep and cows about (these are NOT my animals). You should be aware that this is a very rural location on a small, sparsely popu... more inside

Thanks for looking.

We are currently looking for support in:

log splitting (with mechanical splitter)
garden work (together with Till)
maintenance around the small holding (with support from Mark)

This is what we are about in a nutshell:

Our lodge is a secluded, easily accessible guest house and retreat space offering bed and breakfast with stunning views of the Scottish countryside in the Kingdom of Fife. We offer a tranquil, relaxing space for those exploring the area, business people who want a more personal experience than a hotel or those just wanting to stay and be nourished in mind, body and soul" - Its a place where you can just "Be".

You will be supporting us in making the above guest experience possible.

We value authenticity, integrity, honesty and self-awareness.

We have put together this outline as a result of our hosting experience so far. We find that it helps to clarify what is on offer at Cherry Tree Lodge and what is expected of someone who... more inside

*** We need garden help in June ***

We need help in our own large house in woodland garden, on a sloping bank with water and in need of continual maintenance. One side in wooded country, the other behind main street with Edinburgh buses day and night. Lots of community projects to get involved with -see below.

We prefer someone with enthusiasm and some experience of gardening, building or painting is a bonus. If you are interested in local culture and history and are happy to work unsupervised, you'll be needed!

We always need help in the kitchen, with sorting and cleaning as well as working in the garden planting and working the ground for the next season. Chopping wood is part of the routine.

There's a once weekly, not-for-profit shop supplying fairtrade & organic food and goods to our local community.

We still need to waterproof an outdoor kiln room.

We are about 45 minutes from Edinburgh by very frequent bus. Accommodation for 1 or for 2 sharing a room for a we... more inside
