Hello!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS for 2018. Couples welcome too.

We are a super friendly, well run hostel in the gorgeous location of Fort William, known as the adventure capital of the UK.

We've been preparing and renovating our hostel with new showers, new carpets and fresh decoration and we are looking forward to a new season.

You will be doing Cleaning and Laundry, perhaps some Reception and any other general hostel work that ensures the hostel is sparkling and the guests are made to feel welcome.

We would love to hear from any good workers out there who are happy to muck in and do whatever is needed to make this hostel a wonderful place to be.

We ask for up to 2-3 hours per person per day. In return for your help you are provided with: Bed and breakfast (not cooked), laundry facilities and free wifi. You will get at least one day off a week. You will also have access to our self-catering kitchen. WE WOULD LIKE A COMMITMENT OF AROUND 3 OR 4 WEEKS OR MORE so... more inside

I am currently needing help with painting a flat in Glasgow. You could stay on our farm and travel in with me.

I have a litter of puppies just now and would like some help with looking after and playing with them.

We may also need some help with a variety of tasks on the farm plus feeding and caring for hens and sheep.

The farm is also a livery yard. But no help should be needed with the horses. I (Faye) have my own horses so there could be an opportunity to ride horses.

We are offering accommodation, meals, and we hope also an enjoyable learning experience. The offer would suit someone who can be flexible, enjoy Scottish banter and fun. I enjoy improving the English of helpers, if wanted, and speaking about Scottish culture and food.

We are situated in the beautiful Clyde Valley, bordering a nature reserve and the World Heritage Site of New Lanark.

Our farm is 3 miles from Lanark, and about 30 miles from Glasgow and Edinburgh so makes a good base for sight seein... more inside

A "Natural" Building Project in the Scottish Highlands.

Hi HelpXers,

We live in a beautiful wooded glen (valley) near a village called Spinningdale about 50 miles (80 km.) north of Inverness in the northern Scottish Highlands, where we have a 6 acre (2.4 hectare) former croft (a "croft" is a traditional small Highland farmstead).

We are surrounded by 1700 acres (700 hectares) of stunning natural woodland belonging to a conservation body called The Woodland Trust. We help look after the woods as Voluntary Wardens.

Jim is an environmental scientist with a particular interest in ecological design and sustainable building using natural materials.

Saddhavati is an artist and teacher whose other interests include meditation and yoga.

We are nearing completion of our "natural" home. It is a "passive solar" design based around a traditional post and beam timber frame with "breathing" external walls clad with untreated larch and a living green roof. The building is ins... more inside
