Myself, my wife and our two young daughters have a small detached house in rural Wales, bordering the Cambrian mountains, half an hour away from Aberystwyth seaside town with an acre and a half of garden and woodland. A beautiful stream runs through our garden, and the views around are breathtaking.

I used to be a Helpx helper myself, and had a great time, so hopefully I can be a good host as well! We're wanting to renovate and modernise our home and barn, as well as take care of our woodland, and improve our garden. I am a stay-at-home dad to our youngest daughter while my wife works in our garden studio, and our eldest goes to school. We'd like somebody to stay with us who can either keep an eye on my little girl while I do things in the house and garden, or would be happy doing these tasks while I looked after her.. or a combination of both.

We'd like somebody to stay with us for around 2-3 weeks (gives us time to get to know each other better, and if we all get on really ... more inside

We have a lovely small holding which is half broadleaved woodland, half pasture, with a stream running right by the house, 2 ponds, large veggie garden, orchard, greenhouse, small herd of rare breed cattle, sheep and dogs! (See photos below of a 2011 help-xer with one of our lambs and 2013 help-xers cleaning out the pond!)

We would like help with looking after the animals including our active dogs, woodland management, gardening, preparation and maintenance of grazing land, weeding, planting, harvesting, general maintenance, perhaps light decorating, ironing when it's raining....and whatever crops up! We expect some help around the house such as washing up after dinner and perhaps cooking the occasional meal.

We offer accommodation in a refurbished 16th century cottage which is connected to the main house (see photo of room below). This will mean help-xers have their own sleeping & bathroom area tho' occasionally we may have other guests staying. You will see from the ... more inside

Help wanted! Spring and beyond!

We have meadows, pasture, woodland, lakes and stunning views of both sea and mountain. We are starting to grow veg, meat and eggs and milk.

We want to live in the more beautiful world that our hearts know can exist. We are just starting out and this is on a small and sustainable human scale that we hope will provide food and fuel for visitors to the farm and the local community. We are using holistic management, permaculture and traditional methods.

As well as being productive, we want this to be a place where people can come and slow down for a while, to think about what matters in the world and what the world needs us to give back.

We have only been here for a few years and have had two babies and put a roof on the house, so much of this is aspirational, but we will get there (especially with your help).

We have a young family and so some of the time you would be left to your own devices for cooking and eating dinner etc so you would... more inside

We are a working farm and holiday park above Monkstone beach and within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. There is a small young team here full time.

We are looking for one or two people to help on the farm and park. You will be required to do a variety of jobs including working with the team, helping with farm work especially lambing, helping with feeding animals, gardening, cleaning and D.I.Y. Overall you need to be enthusiastic, motivated and use your initiative. We will provide everything so you will be happy and can enjoy your time here. Its a great place!!!

Visiting Pembrokeshire and in particular staying here would suit people who enjoy the outdoors, nature, hiking, water sports etc. There is so much to do in the surrounding area.

we are a hill farm in a beautifull part of North East Wales. We are looking for an extra pair of hands over the lambing period, also to help with some housework and gardening. We like our helpers to feel at home and get a good balance of helping in the house , garden and the farm, which could also depend on the helper's interest.
We also like our helpers to get enough time to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of the country. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested or have any questions...

Hi,
We are Welsh speaking family, situated almost on the shore of Bala Lake, the biggest natural lake in Wales in the south of Snowdonia National Park and yes, the surrounding area is stunning. Bala is within walking distance and is a small market town with a few shops and a leisure centre which has a swimming pool.

We live on an acre of land that has woodland a stream and a garden which is managed organically and we have one permanent and one temporary polytunnel to grow our food. We have chickens, a dog and a few cats. We are on a very low income so our life style may seem quite simple to you. We use as little electricity and water as possible, fell our own wood for heating and our diet is mostly simple, homemade but nourishing.

Our property is vegetarian and is the ethos of how the land is managed and how we live.
Accommodation is a small 4 berth caravan which can accommodate 2 adults and two young children. There is no electricity or water to the caravan, the simple li... more inside
